(the freed slave of Um Hani) Um Hani, the daughter of Abi Talib said, "I went to Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the conquest of Mecca and found him taking a bath and his daughter Fatima was screening him. I greeted him. He asked, 'Who is she?' I replied, 'I am Um Hani bint Abi Talib.' He said, 'Welcome! O Um Hani.' When he finished his bath he stood up and prayed eight rakʿat while wearing a single garment wrapped round his body and when he finished I said, 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ ! My brother has told me that he will kill a person whom I gave shelter and that person is so and so the son of Hubaira.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'We shelter the person whom you have sheltered.' " Um Hani added, "And that was before noon (Duha).  

أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ تَقُولُ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ ابْنَتُهُ تَسْتُرُهُ قَالَتْ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذِهِ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلاً قَدْ أَجَرْتُهُ فُلاَنَ بْنَ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ وَذَاكَ ضُحًى  

the daughter of Abu Talib: I went to Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the conquest of Mecca and found him taking a bath, and his daughter Fatima was screening him. I greeted him and he asked, "Who is that?" I said, "I, Um Hani bint Abi Talib." He said, "Welcome, O Um Hani." When he had finished his bath, he stood up and offered eight rakʿat while dressed in one garment. I said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! My brother ʿAli has declared that he will kill a man to whom I have granted asylum. The man is so and-so bin Hubaira." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Um Hani! We will grant asylum to the one whom you have granted asylum." (Um Hani said, "That (visit) took place in the Duha (i.e. forenoon)).  

أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ ابْنَةِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ ابْنَةَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ تَقُولُ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ ابْنَتُهُ تَسْتُرُهُ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذِهِ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانَ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي عَلِيٌّ أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلاً قَدْ أَجَرْتُهُ فُلاَنُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ وَذَلِكَ ضُحًى  

(the daughter of Abu Talib) I visited Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the Conquest of Mecca and found him taking a bath, and his daughter, Fatima was screening him. When I greeted him, he said, "Who is it?" I replied, "I am Um Hani, the daughter of Abu Talib." He said, "Welcome, O Um Hani ! " When the Prophet ﷺ had finished his bath, he stood up and offered eight rakʿat of prayer while he was wrapped in a single garment. When he had finished his prayer, I said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! My maternal brother assumes (or claims) that he will murder some man whom I have given shelter, i.e., so-and-so bin Hubaira." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "O Um Hani! We shelter him whom you have sheltered." Um Hani added, "That happened in the forenoon."  

أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ تَقُولُ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ ابْنَتُهُ تَسْتُرُهُ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذِهِ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غَسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلاً قَدْ أَجَرْتُهُ فُلاَنُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ وَذَاكَ ضُحًى  

I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the Conquest of Mecca and found him taking a bath, and Fatimah, his daughter, had provided him privacy with the help of a cloth. I gave him salutation and he said: Who is she? I said: It is Umm Hani, daughter of Abu Talib. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Greeting for Umm Hani. When he had completed the bath, he stood up and observed eight rak'ahs wrapped up in one cloth. When he turned back (after the prayer), I said to him: Messenger of Allah, the son of my mother 'Ali b. Abu Talib is going to kill a person, Fulan b. Hubaira whom I have given protection. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: We too have given protection whom you have given protection, O Umm Hani. Umm Hani said: It was the forenoon (prayer).  

ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ ابْنَتُهُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ قَالَتْ فَسَلَّمْتُ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذِهِ قُلْتُ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلاً أَجَرْتُهُ فُلاَنُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ وَذَلِكَ ضُحًى  

"Who is this?" She said: "Umm Hani'." When he had finished his Ghusl he stood up and prayed eight Rak'ahs wrapped in a garment.  

أَنَّهَا ذَهَبَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدَتْهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ فَسَلَّمَتْ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا قُلْتُ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ مُلْتَحِفًا بِهِ  

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abu'n Nadr, the mawla of Umar ibn Ubaydullah, that Abu Murra, the mawla of Aqil ibn Abi Talib, told him that he had heard Umm Hani bint Abi Talib say, "I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the conquest and found him doing ghusl while his daughter Fatima, was screening him with a garment. I said to him, 'Peace be upon you' and he said, 'Who is that?' I replied, 'Umm Hani bint Abi Talib,' and he said, 'Welcome, Umm Hani!' When he had finished his ghusl, he stood and prayed eight rakas, covering himself with one garment, and then came away. I said, 'Messenger of Allah, the son of my mother, AIi, says that he is determined to kill so-and-so, son of Hubayra, a man I have placed under my protection.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We give protection to whoever you have given protection to, Umm Hani.' " Umm Hani related that this incident happened in the morning.  

تَقُولُ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ ابْنَتُهُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ قَالَتْ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذِهِ فَقُلْتُ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي عَلِيٌّ أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلاً أَجَرْتُهُ فُلاَنُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ وَذَلِكَ ضُحًى

أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ تَقُولُ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ ابْنَتُهُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ قَالَتْ فَسَلَّمْتُ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذِهِ؟ قَالَ قَالَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلًا أَجَرْتُهُ فُلَانَابْنَ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ وَذَاكَ ضُحًى  

[Machine] "Muhammad, I have seen Abu Murrah, who was an elderly man. He narrated from Umm Haneh regarding Umm Haneh. Umm Haneh said, 'I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the year of conquest, and I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have rewarded my son-in-law for me, and my son claims that he killed him,' referring to Ali. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We have rewarded the one you have rewarded, O Umm Haneh.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was poured with water to perform ablution, and he wiped his head with a garment, started from the front and ending on his shoulder, and then he performed eight units of Duha prayer."  

مُحَمَّدٌ وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ أَبَا مُرَّةَ وَكَانَ شَيْخًا قَدْ أَدْرَكَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ عَنْ أُمِّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَدْ أَجَرْتُ حَمْوَيْنِ لِي فَزَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتَلَهُ تَعْنِي عَلِيًّا قَالَتْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ وَصُبَّ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَاءٌ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ الْتَحَفَ بِثَوْبٍ عَلَيْهِ وَخَالَفَ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ فَصَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانِي رَكَعَاتٍ  

[Machine] She went to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ on the day of the conquest and said, "I found him washing himself, and Fatimah was covering him with a cloth. So I greeted him, and it was in the morning. He asked, 'Who is this?' So I said, 'I am Umm Hanee.' I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, my mother's son claims that he killed a man that I have hired, Fulan bin Hubayrah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We have given reward to the one whom you have given reward, O Umm Hanee.' When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished washing himself, he stood and performed eight raka'at (units of prayer) while wrapped in a garment."  

أَنَّهَا ذَهَبَتْ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ قَالَتْ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ فَسَلَّمْتُ وَذَلِكَ ضُحًى فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا؟ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا أُمُّ هَانِئٍ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلًا أَجَرْتُهُ فُلَانَ بْنَ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ  

[Machine] He informed him that he heard Umm Haneen, the daughter of Abu Talib, saying that she went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the conquest and found him performing ablution, and his daughter Fatimah covered him with a garment. Umm Haneen said, "I greeted him and it was in the morning." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Who is this?" I said, "I am Umm Haneen." When he finished his ablution, he stood up and prayed eight rak'ahs, wrapped in one garment, then he departed. I said, "O Messenger of Allah, my son claims that he killed a man who you had hired, Fulan bin Hubayrah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "We have indeed rewarded those whom you have rewarded, O Umm Haneen."  

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهَا ذَهَبَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدَتْهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُهُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ قَالَتْ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَذَلِكَ ضُحًى قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ هَذِهِ؟» فَقُلْتُ أَنَا أُمُّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانَ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلًا أَجَرْتُهُ فُلَانَ بْنَ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ»  

[Machine] He informed him that he heard Umm Hani, the daughter of Abu Talib, speaking of her visit to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the year of conquest. She said, "O Messenger of Allah, my foster brother claims to have killed a man whom I hired someone to kill, Fulan bin Hubayrah." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ responded, "We have already rewarded the one whom you rewarded, O Umm Hani."  

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ تُحَدِّثُ أَنَّهَا ذَهَبَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَقَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلًا أَجَرْتُهُ فُلَانُ بْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ»  

I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on the day of the conquest (of Mecca) and found him take a bath. while his daughter Fatimah was holding a curtain around him. (Using translation from Muslim 336a)  

أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ تَقُولُ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ ابْنَتُهُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ قَالَتْ فَسَلَّمْتُ فَقَالَ «مَنْ هَذِهِ؟ » قُلْتُ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَرْحَبًا يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ» فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانَ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلًا أَجَرْتُهُ فُلَانُ ابْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ» وَذَلِكَ ضُحًى  

[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Year of Victory, so I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have performed the Hajj and my cousin claims that Ali fought against him.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We have rewarded those who merited reward, O Umm Hani.' She said, 'The Messenger of Allah then poured water and performed ablution, and then he put on a garment and covered himself with it, and he prayed eight units of Dhuha prayer.'"  

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أَجَرْتُ حَمَوَيَّ فَزَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي تَعْنِي عَلِيًّا أَنَّهُ قَاتِلُهُ قَالَتْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ» قَالَتْ وَصَبَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَاءً فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ الْتَحَفَ بِثَوْبٍ عَلَيْهِ وَخَالَفَ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ فَصَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانَ رَكَعَاتٍ  

[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ entered upon her on the day of the victory, performed ghusl (ritual washing), and prayed eight rak'ahs of duha (forenoon) prayer in one garment, which he wore improperly. So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have hired my son Hubayrah's wife, and my mother's son claims that he killed them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "We have awarded alimony to the mother of Hane'."  

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَاغْتَسَلَ فَصَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ قَدْ خَالَفَ بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي قَدْ أَجَرْتُ حَمَوَيَّ ابْنِيْ هُبَيْرَةَ وَإِنَّ ابْنَ أُمِّي زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ قَاتِلُهُمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَارَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ»  

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik, who narrated from Bakr ibn Sahl, who narrated from Abdullah ibn Yusuf, who said that Malik narrated from Abu al-Nadr, the freed slave of Umar ibn Ubaydullah, that Abu Murrah, the slave of Umm Hani', the daughter of Abu Talib, informed him that he heard Umm Hani', the daughter of Abu Talib, say: "I went to the Prophet ﷺ during the year of the Conquest, and I found him performing ablution while Fatimah was covering him with a garment. I greeted him, and he asked, 'Who is this?' I replied, 'I am Umm Hani', the daughter of Abu Talib.' He said, 'Welcome, Umm Hani'.' After he finished his ablution, he stood and prayed eight units of prayer while wrapped in a single garment. When he finished, I said to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, my brother claims that he has slain a man whom I have hired, Fulan ibn Hubayrah.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We have hired the person you have hired, O Umm Hani'.' Umm Hani' said, 'That happened in the morning.'"  

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَّةَ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ تَقُولُ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ «مَنْ هَذَا؟» فَقُلْتُ أَنَا أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ «مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ» فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلًا قَدْ أَجَرْتُهُ فُلَانُ ابْنُ هُبَيْرَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ» قَالَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ وَذَلِكَ ضُحًى  

[Machine] She came with two men from the tribe of Makhzum on the day when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ conquered Mecca. Ali entered upon her and said, "Who are these, O Umm Hani?" I will kill them." She said, "So I closed the door on them and then went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . I found him performing ablution while his daughter Fatimah covered him with a cloth. He performed ablution, took the cloth, wrapped himself in it, and then prayed eight units of Duha (forenoon) prayer. Then he asked, 'What is wrong, O Umm Hani?' I said, 'I have taken in two men from my tribe and Ali wants to kill them.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We have granted amnesty to those you have granted and rewarded those you have rewarded.'"  

أَنَّهَا جَاءَتْ بِرَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ يَوْمَ فَتَحَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَكَّةَ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا عَلِيٌّ فَقَالَ مَا هَذَا يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ؟ لأَقْتُلَنَّهُما قَالَتْ فَأَغْلَقْتُ عَلَيْهِمَا ثُمَّ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَابْنَتُهُ فَاطِمَةُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ فَاغْتَسَلَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ الثَّوْبَ فَالْتَحَفَهُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانِ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ «مَا لَكِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ؟» قُلْتُ إِنِّي أَجَرْتُ رَجُلَيْنِ مِنْ أَحْمَائِي فَجَاءَ عَلِيٌّ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَقْتُلَهُمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «قَدْ أَمَّنَا مَنْ أَمَّنْتِ وَأَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ»  

(the freed slave of Um Hani) Um Hani, the daughter of Abi Talib said, "I went to Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the conquest of Mecca and found him taking a bath and his daughter Fatima was screening him. I greeted him. He asked, 'Who is she?' I replied, 'I am Um Hani bint Abi Talib.' He said, 'Welcome! O Um Hani.' When he finished his bath he stood up and prayed eight rakʿat while wearing a single garment wrapped round his body and when he finished I said, 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ ! My brother has told me that he will kill a person whom I gave shelter and that person is so and so the son of Hubaira.' The Prophet ﷺ said, 'We shelter the person whom you have sheltered.' " Um Hani added, "And that was before noon (Duha). (Using translation from Bukhārī 357)   

هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ؓ تَقُولُ ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ وَفَاطِمَةُ ابْنَتُهُ عَلَيْهَا السَّلَامُ تَسْتُرُهُ بِثَوْبٍ قَالَتْ فَسَلَّمْتُ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذِهِ؟ فَقُلْتُ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَقَالَ مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلًا أَجَرْتُهُ فُلَانَ بْنَ هُبَيْرَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ قَالَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ وَذَلِكَ ضُحًى لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَحْيَى وَفِي حَدِيثِ الْقَعْنَبِيِّ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ فَقُلْتُ وَالْبَاقِي سَوَاءٌ
