[Machine] One day, while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was giving a sermon, Al-Hasan ibn Ali came and ascended the pulpit. The Prophet ﷺ embraced him and touched his head, and said, "This is my son. Perhaps Allah will bring about reconciliation between two great factions of Muslims through him."

أحمد:٢٠٤٩٩ – حَدَّثَنَا مُؤَمَّلٌ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ قَالَ

بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ يَخْطُبُ إِذْ جَاءَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ فَصَعِدَ إِلَيْهِ الْمِنْبَرَ فَضَمَّهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَيْهِ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ وَقَالَ ابْنِي هَذَا سَيِّدٌ وَلَعَلَّ اللهَ أَنْ يُصْلِحَ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ بَيْنَ فِئَتَيْنِ عَظِيمَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to al-Hasan ibn Ali. This son of mine is a Sayyid (chief), and I hope Allah may reconcile two parties of my community by means of him. Hammad's version has: And perhaps Allah may reconcile two large parties of Muslims by means of him. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4662)

الحاكم:٤٨٠٩ – فَأَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ حَمْدَانَ وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ثنا أَشْعَثُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِلْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ «إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا سَيِّدٌ وَلَعَلَّ اللَّهَ أَنْ يُصْلِحَ بِهِ بَيْنَ فِئَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ عَظِيمَتَيْنِ»

[Machine] While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering a sermon to the people, Hassan ibn Ali came to him and climbed onto his lap. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ embraced him and said, "Indeed, this son of mine is a master and indeed, Allah the Almighty may use him to reconcile between two great factions of Muslims." Both of these narrations were reported by Al-Bukhari through the route of Abu Musa Israil from Al-Hasan.

الحاكم:٤٨١٠ – وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ ثنا عَفَّانُ وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَا ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ

بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ إِذْ جَاءَ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ فَصَعِدَ إِلَيْهِ فَضَمَّهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَالَ «أَلَا إِنِ ابْنِي هَذَا سَيِّدٌ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ ﷻ لَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يُصْلِحَ بِهِ بَيْنَ فِئَتَيْنِ عَظِيمَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ» أخرجهما البخاري من طريق أبي موسى إسرائيل عن الحسن

الطبراني:٢٥٨٨ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَعَارِمٌ قَالَا ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ

بَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ إِذْ صَعِدَ إِلَيْهِ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ؓ فَضَمَّهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا سَيِّدٌ وَلَعَلَّ اللهَ ﷻ أَنْ يُصْلِحَ بِهِ بَيْنَ فِئَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ»

[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with Al-Hasan ibn Ali while he was saying, 'Verily, this son of mine is a leader, and Allah will bring peace and reconciliation through him between two great factions of the Muslims.'"

الطبراني:٢٥٩٢ – حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ثنا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ شَيْبَةَ الْجُدِّيُّ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ يُونُسَ وَمَنْصُورٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ؓ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ ابْنِي هَذَا سَيِّدٌ وَإِنَّ اللهَ سَيُصْلِحُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ بَيْنَ فِئَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ عَظِيمَتَيْنِ»
