I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "There is no prayer after the morning prayer till the sun rises, and there is no prayer after the ʿAsr prayer till the sun sets."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَرْتَفِعَ الشَّمْسُ وَلاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ

No prayer is valid after the 'Asr prayer till the sun sets and no prayer is valid after the dawn prayer till the sun rises.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ صَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ وَلاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ صَلاَةِ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ

'Are you not going to pray?' He said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'There is no prayer after 'Asr until the sun has set, nor after Subh until the sun has risen.'"

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ وَلاَ بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ

"I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'There is no prayer after Fajr until the sun has clearly risen, and no prayer after 'Asr until the sun has fully set.'"

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى تَبْزُغَ الشَّمْسُ وَلاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ

Some reliable people testified before me, and among them was Umar ibn al-Khattab, and most reliable in my eyes was Umar: The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said: There is no prayer after the dawn prayer until the sun rises; and there is no prayer after the 'Asr prayer until the sun sets.

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ وَلاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ صَلاَةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ

“There is no prayer after the ‘Asr until the sun has set, and there is no prayer after the Fajr until the sun has risen.”

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ وَلاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ

“Good men among whom was ‘Umar bin Khattab, and the best of them in my view is ‘Umar, testified before me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘There is no prayer after Fajr until the sun has risen, and there is no prayer after the ‘Asr until the sun has set.’”

لاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ وَلاَ صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn Habban from al Araj from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade prayer after asr until the sun had set, and prayer after subh until the sun had risen.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الصَّلاَةِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ وَعَنِ الصَّلاَةِ بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ

ʿThere is no prayer after Fajr Prayer until the sun rises, or after 'Asr prayer until the sun sets.ʿ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا صَلاةَ بَعْدَ صَلاةِ الصُّبْحِ إِلَى طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَلا بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغِيبَ الشَّمْسُ

[AI] "There are two prayers after which no prayer should be offered: the dawn prayer until the sun rises, and the Asr prayer until the sun sets."

«صَلاتَانِ لَا يُصَلَّى بَعْدَهُمَا: الصُّبْحُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ، وَالْعَصْرُ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ.»

[Machine] According to Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, they heard him saying that he heard Abu Al-Qasim saying, "There is no prayer after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises, and there is no prayer after the Asr prayer until the night."

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَاهُ يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ يَقُولُ لَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى اللَّيْلِ

“There is no prayer after the ‘Asr until the sun has set, and there is no prayer after the Fajr until the sun has risen.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1249)

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَصَلَاتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ وَبَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى تَبْزُغَ الشَّمْسُ وَلَا صَلَاةَ بَعْدَ صَلَاةِ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ»

"عَنْ سَعْدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ النَّبِىَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنْ صَلَاتَيْنِ: صَلَاةٍ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ، وَصَلَاةٍ بَعْدَ الْفَجْرِ حَتَّى تَطْلُعُ الشَّمْسُ".

"لَا صَلاَةَ بِعْدَ صَلاَةِ الصُّبْحِ حَتَّى تَرتَفِعَ الشَّمْسُ، وَلَا صَلاَةَ بَعْدَ صَلاَةِ العَصْرِ حَتَّى تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ".
