[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked which religion is best. He said, "The tolerant Hanifiyah."
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught me some words to say at times of distress: Allah! Allahu Rabbi la ushriku bihi shay’an (Allah, Allah is my Lord, I do not associate anything with Him).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3882)
[Machine] Umar ibn Abdul Aziz said, "If you see people whispering about their religion without involving the general public, know that they are establishing misguidance."
[Machine] I often hear Ibn Umar saying, "I wish my hair had a mark on his face from the descendants of Umar that would fill the earth with justice."
[Machine] "That my residence is in Qazvin until I die, meaning by that, commitment."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The land belongs to Allah and the people are the servants of Allah. Whoever brings life to a dead land, it belongs to him." So, he responded to the Bedouins.
[Machine] I heard Umar ibn Abdul Aziz saying, "O Allah, increase in goodness towards those who do good and guide the wrongdoers towards repentance, and have mercy on those who come after them."
[Machine] So I proceeded as Khalid and said, "Yes, may there be from Allah audible and perceptive eye." Then the young man's eye filled with tears and he withdrew his hand from Khalid's hand and turned away. So I said to Khalid, "Who is this?" He said, "This is Umar ibn Abdul Aziz, the son of the cousin of the Commander of the Faithful. And if you live long enough, you will surely see him as a guided leader."

[Machine] Umar ibn Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "Whoever does not count his words as sins, his sins will increase."
[Machine] "O Prince of the Believers, I seek refuge with Allah from the desert Arabs." The people of the mosque laughed. He (Ali) said, "It was as if I saw him."
[Machine] Omar bin Abdul Aziz said: "O Allah, make death easy for me."

[Machine] I entered upon Umar ibn Abdul-Aziz and found him eating boiled garlic with spinach and oil.
[Machine] Umar ibn Abdul Aziz cried so much that his tears became blood.
[Machine] He saw the Prophet ﷺ sitting between Abu Bakr and Umar. So Umar ibn Abdul Aziz came and sat on his right to sit between him and Abu Bakr. Abu Bakr said, "O Messenger of Allah, I did not think that you would sit between me and anyone else." So he inclined towards Umar's side to let him sit between him and Abu Bakr. Umar said, as Abu Bakr had said, "May Allah have mercy on him." So he placed him in front of him.

[Machine] Indeed, we find him among the leaders of justice in the month of Rajab, one of the sacred months. Ayoub bin Suwaid explained it to him, saying: "There are three consecutive months, Dhul-Qa'dah, Dhul-Hijjah, and Muharram, and Rajab is separate."

[Machine] Abu Bakr and Umar, I said, we already know them. So who is Umar? He said, if you live, you will find out, and if you die, he will come after you.

[Machine] He has been accustomed to his daily routine, and he only took an hour to sleep. I said, "Shouldn't I get up and pour some oil in the lamp?" He said, "No." So he got up and poured some oil into the lamp, then he returned and said, "I got up while I was Umar bin Abdul Aziz, and I came back while I was Umar bin Abdul Aziz. O Raja', it is not appropriate for a man to use his guest."

O my son, if Allah wills for the Quran to be revealed all at once, then he will do so, but he revealed the verses one after another to slow it down in their hearts. O my son, I have not found hypocrisy to bring any good."

[Machine] I said to him, "Indeed, your companion has been poisoned, so let him be treated." So, I met Umar and informed him that the Jew who met me had informed me that you will follow this matter and make the appropriate decision. He said to me, "Indeed, you have been poisoned and you are commanded to treat yourself." May Allah curse him, I knew the exact hour in which I was poisoned, and if it were healing for me to touch the fat of my ear or be given a remedy to sniff, I would have done so.

[Machine] The Commander of the Faithful is doing something that I see pleases him in his religion. She asked, "What is it?" He said, "It is not something that has been done since I became the leader." Then, someone entered with hope and said, "O Commander of the Faithful, you are doing something that I see pleases you in your religion." He was startled by that and said, "Woe to you, what is it?" He said, "O Commander of the Faithful, your family has a right over you. So, his eyes filled with tears and he said, "O hope, how can someone who has the responsibility of the Muslims and the treaties around his neck feel at ease when Allah will question him about them on the Day of Resurrection."

[Machine] I said, O Amir al-Muminin, I am amazed by the beauty of your complexion, the sweetness of your body, and the softness of your hair. He said, How would it be if you were to see me after three (days) and I have been turned in my grave, and my eyeballs have mingled with my cheeks, and pus and worms are flowing from my throat? You would have found it more repugnant to speak to that visage and try to have a conversation with it! I was informed by Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, one of the most noble gatherings is the one in which the qibla is faced (i.e., towards Makkah). And do not pray behind someone who is sleeping or talking, and do not buy goods with forbidden wealth, and kill the snake and the scorpion even if you are in your prayer. And whoever looks at his brother's book without his permission, then he is only looking at the fire." He also said, "Whoever wants to be the strongest among the people, let him rely on Allah. And whoever wants to be the most honored among the people, let him fear Allah. And whoever wants to be the richest among the people, let him be content with the provision of Allah." Then he said, "Shall I not inform you about the worst of your companions?" We said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "The one who causes disturbance when he is alone, and withholds assistance, and beats his slave." Then he said, "Shall I not inform you about worse than that?" We said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Those who do not remove obstacles (that cause harm), do not forgive sins, and do not accept excuses." Then he said, "Shall I not inform you about worse than that?" We said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Those whose evil you fear but from whom you do not expect any good. Verily, Jesus, son of Mary, stood among the children of Israel and said, 'O Children of Israel, Speak in accordance with wisdom in the presence of the ignorant, so that you will not oppress it, and do not withhold it from its people, so that you will not oppress them. And do not oppress one another, and do not punish the wrongdoer with injustice, lest your excellence is nullified. Verily, affairs are only of three types: one in which you clearly hold the truth, so follow it; one in which you clearly recognize falsehood, so avoid it; and one in which there is difference, so refer it back to Allah."

[Machine] That Umar ibn Abdul Aziz wrote to some of his employees, "I advise you to fear Allah and be economical in His affairs, and to follow the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ and to abandon what the innovators have introduced after it has been established as his Sunnah. And be aware that no one invents a new innovation except that it has evidence supporting it, and others were misguided in it. So it is upon you to adhere to the Sunnah, for indeed, it is your protection with the permission of Allah. And know that whoever follows the Sunnah is aware of the errors, mistakes, depths, and foolishness that exist in its opposition. Indeed, those who preceded in knowledge stopped and those with discerning insight ceased probing, and they were the strongest in research if they had researched."
[Machine] "O people, rectify your secrets so that your public actions are rectified, and strive for the Hereafter so that your worldly life is sufficient for you. And know that there is a man who is not a father to anyone but is a descendant due to his sweat in death. Peace be upon you."
[Machine] "That worship is the performance of obligations and the avoidance of prohibitions"
[Machine] And he said, "Verily, I hope for intercession through it on the Day of Resurrection."
[Machine] "So, when the fourth year came, we descended to that house, and that man came to him and said, 'O monk, we found the story that you told us to be true.' He said, 'By Allah, indeed the poison of the soma reached Umar.' I said, 'So I came to Umar and informed him.' He said, 'By Allah, if you wished, I would have informed you of the exact time I was poisoned.' I said, 'Why didn't you take precautions?’ He said, 'I do not like for my medication to be poured into my ears.'
[Machine] So he wrote to both of them two vile, hateful letters filled with the worst kind of insults and harm. They brought to me the blood of Muslims, and there is no one among the people whose blood is less valuable to me than yours.
[Machine] May Allah grant you, O Amir al-Mu'minin, a long life as long as it is good for you. As for that, it has already been accomplished. However, say, "May Allah grant you a good life and make you die among the righteous."
[Machine] That the throes of death may be made easier for me, for it is the last thing that a Muslim can be expiated for.
[Machine] Umar ibn Abdul Aziz used to instruct his wives and daughters to perform ablution on Fridays.
[Machine] "That what Iblis (Satan) left behind should not be disobeyed, may Allah curse him."
[Machine] And he placed his crown, then he came to the lamp, and he took out its wick. He also took out a piece of cloth, opened it, and poured some of it in the lamp. Then he returned and said, "I stood up while I am Umar ibn Abdul Aziz, and I returned while I am Umar ibn Abdul Aziz."
[Machine] The daily expense of Umar ibn Abdul Aziz was two dirhams.
[Machine] Umar ibn Abdul Aziz said, "Whoever does not consider his words as part of his actions, his sins will increase."
