[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Regarding wiping (over the socks) for the traveler, it is for three days and for the resident, it is for one day and one night."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ «فِي الْمَسْحِ لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ وَلِلْمُقِيمِ يَوْمٌ وَلَيْلَةٌ»

جَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِلْمُسَافِرِ ثَلاَثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ يَعْنِي فِي الْمَسْحِ
The Prophet ﷺ said: The time limit for wiping over the socks for a traveller is three days (and three nights) and for a resident it is one day and one night. Abu Dawud said: Another version adds: Had we requested him to extend (the period of wiping), he would have extended.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ رَخَّصَ ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ
The Prophet granted a concession to travelers: "If a traveler performed ablution and put on leather socks, then he performed a fresh ablution, he could wipe over the leather socks for three days and nights; the resident could do so for one day and one night." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 556)
