ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ إِسْقَاطِ الْحَرَجِ عَمَّنْ فَقَأَ عَيْنَ النَّاظِرِ فِي بَيْتِهِ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِهِ

If I were to know that you had been peeping through the door, I would have thrust that into your eyes, and Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Permission is needed as a protection against glance. (Using translation from Muslim 2156a)  

ابن حبّان:٦٠٠١أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ وَسُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ أَنَّ سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا اطَّلَعَ مِنْ جُحْرٍ فِي بَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَمَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ مِدْرًى يَحُكُّ بِهَا رَأْسَهُ فَلَمَّا رَآهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَنْظُرُنِي لَطَعَنْتُ بِهِ فِي عَيْنِكَ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ الْإِذْنُ مِنْ أَجْلِ الْبَصَرِ»

A man peeped into the house of the Prophet ﷺ through a hole while the Prophet ﷺ was scratching his head with a Midrai (a certain kind of comb). On that the Prophet ﷺ said (to him), "If I had known you had been looking, then I would have pierced your eye with that instrument, because the asking of permission has been ordained so that one would not see things unlawfully."

A man peeped through a round hole into the dwelling place of the Prophet, while the Prophet ﷺ had a Midray (an iron comb) with which he was scratching his head. the Prophet ﷺ said, " Had known you were looking (through the hole), I would have pierced your eye with it (i.e., the comb)." Verily! The order of taking permission to enter has been enjoined because of that sight, (that one should not look unlawfully at the state of others). (See Hadith No. 807, Vol. 7)

A man peeped through a hole in the door of Messenger of Allah ﷺ's house, and at that time, Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a Midri (an iron comb or bar) with which he was rubbing his head. So when Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw him, he said (to him), "If I had been sure that you were looking at me (through the door), I would have poked your eye with this (sharp iron bar)." Messenger of Allah ﷺ added, "The asking for permission to enter has been enjoined so that one may not look unlawfully (at what there is in the house without the permission of its people)."

This rule of asking permission has been ordained so that one may not look unlawfully (into people's houses).

that a man peeked in on the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, in one of the apartments of the Prophet ﷺ, while the Prophet ﷺ had a Midrah (an iron comb) with which he was scratching his head. So the Prophet ﷺ said: "If I knew that you were looking then I would have poked your eyes with it. Seeking permission has only been enjoined because of the sight."  

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.

[Machine] According to Sahel bin Saad, a man emerged from a hole in the Prophet's chamber while he had a comb in his hand and he was combing his hair with it. The man said, "If I knew you were watching, I would have stabbed your eye with it. Seeking permission is only for the sake of looking."

[Machine] He informed him that a man entered into a hole near the door of the Prophet, and while the Prophet had a stick with which he was scratching his head, the Prophet said, "If I knew that you were waiting for me, I would have stabbed you in your eye. Verily, the veil is only placed for permission, or for sight."  

الطبراني:٥٦٦٧حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ بَقِيَّةَ أَنَا خَالِدٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَجُلًا اطَّلَعَ فِي جُحْرٍ فِي بَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَمَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مِدْرًى يَحُكُّ بِهِ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَنْتَظِرُنِي لَطَعَنْتُ بِهِ فِي عَيْنِكَ إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ السِّتْرُ لِلْإِذْنِ» أَوْ قَالَ «مِنْ أَجْلِ النَّظَرِ»

[Machine] A man came out of a hole to the Prophet ﷺ, and with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he had a stick he was scratching his head with. He said, "If I knew that you were looking, I would have kept scratching until I stabbed it in your eye. The ear was only created for the sake of the sight."

If I were to know that you had been peeping through the door, I would have thrust that into your eyes, and Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Permission is needed as a protection against glance. (Using translation from Muslim 2156a)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at a man who was looking into his house, and in the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was a stick that he used to support his head. He said, "If I had known that you were watching me, I would have stabbed you in your eye with it."

"عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفِ قَالَ: اطَّلَعَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ جُحْرٍ فِى حُجْرَةِ النَّبِىِّ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ مِدْرى (*) يَحُكُّ بِهِ رَأسَهُ، فَقَالَ: لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَنْظُرُ لَطَعَنْتُ بِهِ عَيْنَكَ، إِنَّمَا الاسْتئْذَانُ مِنَ الْبَصَرِ".
