"عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفِ قَالَ: اطَّلَعَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ جُحْرٍ فِى حُجْرَةِ النَّبِىِّ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ مِدْرى (*) يَحُكُّ بِهِ رَأسَهُ، فَقَالَ: لَوْ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ تَنْظُرُ لَطَعَنْتُ بِهِ عَيْنَكَ، إِنَّمَا الاسْتئْذَانُ مِنَ الْبَصَرِ".

A man peeped through a round hole into the dwelling place of the Prophet, while the Prophet ﷺ had a Midray (an iron comb) with which he was scratching his head. the Prophet ﷺ said, " Had known you were looking (through the hole), I would have pierced your eye with it (i.e., the comb)." Verily! The order of taking permission to enter has been enjoined because of that sight, (that one should not look unlawfully at the state of others). (See Hadith No. 807, Vol. 7)

a man looked through a hole in the door of the Prophet, who had with him a kind of comb with which he was scratching his head, When the Messenger of Allah saw him he said: "If I had known that you were watching me, I would have stabbed you in the eye with this. This rule of asking permission has been ordained so that one may not look unlawfully (into people's houses).

So the Prophet ﷺ said: "If I knew that you were looking then I would have poked your eyes with it. Seeking permission has only been enjoined because of the sight."

[Machine] According to Sahel bin Saad, a man emerged from a hole in the Prophet's chamber while he had a comb in his hand and he was combing his hair with it. The man said, "If I knew you were watching, I would have stabbed your eye with it. Seeking permission is only for the sake of looking."

[Machine] While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in a chamber, and with him was a comb with which he would comb his hair, a man looked at him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "If I had known that you were watching, I would have stabbed your eyes with this comb. Indeed, permission was granted only for the purpose of looking."

[Machine] A man entered the Prophet's room holding a comb in his hand and he was combing his hair with it. The Prophet saw him and said, "If I knew that you were looking, I would have poked your eye with it. Permission was granted only because of the sight."

[Machine] I heard Sahl ibn Saad saying, "A man came out from the Prophet's room, and with the Prophet was a comb that he used to comb his head. The man said, 'If I had known you were waiting for me, I would have stabbed you in the eye with it. Seeking permission was only made for the purpose of seeing.'"
