Messenger of Allah ﷺ met ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab while the latter was going with a group of camel-riders, and he was swearing by his father. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Lo! Allah forbids you to swear by your fathers, so whoever has to take an oath, he should swear by Allah or keep quiet."

'Abdullah (b. Umar) reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ found, Umar b. al-Khattab amongst the riders and he was taking oath by his father Messenger of Allah ﷺ called them (saying) ; Our Allah, the Exated and Majestic, has forbidden you that you take oath by your father. He who bag to take an oath, he must take it by Allah or keep quiet.

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came across 'Umar while he was on his mount, and he was swearing by his father. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Verily Allah prohibits you from swearing by your fathers. So let the one who swears, swear by Allah, or be silent."  

Abū ʿĪsá said that this Ḥadīth is Ḥasan-Ṣaḥīḥ.
الترمذي:١٥٣٤حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that one time the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was speaking to Umar ibn al-Khattab while he was travelling with a troop and Umar swore by his father and he (the Messenger) said, "Allah forbids you to swear by your fathers. If anyone swears, let him swear by Allah or keep silent."  

مالك:٢٢-١٦حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

[Machine] Ibn Umar narrated that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ encountered Umar during one of his journeys and heard him saying, "And my father, and my father." So he said, "Verily, Allah forbids you from swearing by your fathers. So whoever swears, let him swear by Allah, and whoever does not, then let him remain silent."

[Machine] While Umar ibn al-Khattab was walking in a caravan, he heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ swearing by his father. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "Indeed, Allah forbids you from swearing by your fathers. So whoever swears, let him swear by Allah or remain silent."  

الطبراني:١٣١٧٩حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا جُنَادَةُ بْنُ سَلْمٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ سَالِمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

بَيْنَمَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ يَسِيرُ فِي رَكْبٍ فَسَمِعَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَحْلِفُ بِأَبِيهِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ اللهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ فَمَنْ حَلَفَ فَلْيَحْلِفْ بِاللهِ أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ»

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came across 'Umar while he was on his mount, and he was swearing by his father. أَدْرَكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عُمَرَ وَهُوَ فِي بَعْضِ أَسْفَارِهِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ وَأَبِي وَأَبِي فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ فَمَنْ كَانَ حَالِفًا فَلْيَحْلِفْ بِاللهِ أَوْ لِيَصْمُتْ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ found 'Umar al-Khattab in a caravan while he was swearing by his father. So he said: Allah forbids you to swear by forefathers. If anyone swears, he must swear by Allah or keep silence. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 3249)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَدْرَكَهُ وَهُوَ فِي رَكْبٍ وَهُوَ يَحْلِفُ بِأَبِيهِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنَ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ فَلْيَحْلِفْ حَالَفٌ بِاللهِ أَوْ لِيَسْكُتْ
