None amongst you can get. into Paradise by virtue of his deeds alone. They said: Messenger of Allah, not even you? Thereupon he said: Not even I, but that Allah should wrap me in His Grace and Mercy.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَنْ يُدْخِلَ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالُوا وَلاَ أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ وَلاَ أَنَا إِلاَّ أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِيَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِفَضْلٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ  

Observe moderation (in doing deeds), and if you fail to observe it perfectly, try to do as much as you can do (to live up to this ideal of moderation) and be happy for none would be able to get into Paradise because of his deeds alone. They (the Companions of the Holy Prophet) said: Messenger of Allah, not even you? Thereupon he said: Not even I, but that Allah wraps me in His Mercy, and bear this in mind that the deed loved most by Allah is one which is done constantly even though it is small.  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «سَدِّدُوا وَقَارِبُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا، فَإِنَّهُ لَنْ يُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ أَحَدًا عَمَلُهُ۔» قَالُوا: وَلاَ أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ: «وَلاَ أَنَا، إِلاَّ أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِيَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ۔ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ أَحَبَّ الْعَمَلِ إِلَى اللَّهِ أَدْوَمُهُ وَإِنْ قَلَّ۔»  

[Machine] I heard Abu Al-Qasim ﷺ saying, "By the One in whose hand is my soul, there is none among you but that his deeds will admit him into Paradise." They said, "Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Not even me, unless Allah envelops me in His mercy and grace and places His hand on my head."  

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ يَقُولُ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنْ مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ يُدْخِلُهُ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالُوا وَلَا أَنْتَ؟ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللهُ بِرَحْمَةٍ مِنْهُ وَفَضْلٍ وَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ  

None amongst you can get. into Paradise by virtue of his deeds alone. They said: Messenger of Allah, not even you? Thereupon he said: Not even I, but that Allah should wrap me in His Grace and Mercy. (Using translation from Muslim 2816f)  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَنْ يُدْخِلَ أَحَدًا مِنْكُمْ عَمَلُهُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالُوا وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللهُ مِنْهُ بِفَضْلٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ  

"None of you should wish for death. Either he is a doer of good, so perhaps he may do more good, or he is an evildoer but perhaps he will give up his evil ways." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1818)   

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَا يَتَمَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ إِمَّا مُحْسِنًا فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَزْدَادَ إِحْسَانًا وَإِمَّا مُسِيئًا فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَسْتَعْتِبَ  

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The good deeds of any person will not make him enter Paradise." (i.e., None can enter Paradise through his good deeds.) They (the Prophet's companions) said, 'Not even you, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He said, "Not even myself, unless Allah bestows His favor and mercy on me." So be moderate in your religious deeds and do the deeds that are within your ability: and none of you should wish for death, for if he is a good doer, he may increase his good deeds, and if he is an evil doer, he may repent to Allah." (Using translation from Bukhārī 5673)   

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ لَنْ يُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ أَحَدًا عَمَلُهُ قَالُوا وَلَا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِي اللهُ مِنْهُ بِفَضْلٍ وَرَحْمَةٍ فَسَدِّدُوا وَقَارِبُوا وَلَا يَتَمَنَّى أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ إِمَّا مُحْسِنًا فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَزْدَادَ وَإِمَّا مُسِيئًا فَلَعَلَّهُ أَنْ يَسْتَعْتِبَ  

"لَنْ يُدْخِلَ أَحَدًا عمَلُهُ الجَنَّةَ، قَالُوا: ولا أَنْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قال: وَلَا أَنَا إِلَّا أنْ يَتَغَمَّدَنِى اللهِ بِفَضْلِ رَحْمَتِهِ، فَسَدِّدُوا وَقَارِبُوا، ولا يَتَمَنَّى أحَدُكمْ المَوْتَ، إِمَّا مُحْسِنٌ فَلَعَلَّهُ يَزْدَادُ خَيرًا، وإمَّا مُسِئٌ فَلعَلَّهُ أنْ يَسْتَعْتِبَ".
