Messenger of Allah ﷺ once led us in a prayer and offered two rakʿat and got up (for the third rakʿa) without sitting (after the second rakʿa). The people also got up with him, and when he was about to finish his prayer, we waited for him to finish the prayer with Taslim but he said Takbir before Taslim and performed two prostrations while sitting and then finished the prayer with Taslim.

أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَلَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَكْعَتَيْنِ مِنْ بَعْضِ الصَّلَوَاتِ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ فَقَامَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ وَنَظَرْنَا تَسْلِيمَهُ كَبَّرَ قَبْلَ التَّسْلِيمِ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ got up after the second rakʿa of the Zuhr prayer without sitting in between (the second and the third rakʿat). When he finished the prayer he performed two prostrations (of Sahu) and then finished the prayer with Taslim.

أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَامَ مِنِ اثْنَتَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ لَمْ يَجْلِسْ بَيْنَهُمَا فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us two rak'ahs of prayer in one of the (obligatory) prayers and then got up and did not sit. and the people stood up along with him. When he finished the prayer and we expected him to pronounce salutation. he said:" Allah is Most Great" while sitting and made two prostrations before salutation and then pronounced (the, final) salutation.

When he finished the prayer and we expect him to give the salutation, he said: "Allah is most great." While sitting and made two prostrations before giving the salutation. Then he gave it.

أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَلَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ فَقَامَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ وَانْتَظَرْنَا التَّسْلِيمَ كَبَّرَ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ قَبْلَ التَّسْلِيمِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ﷺ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in praying two rak'ahs, then he stood up and did not sit, and the people stood up with him. When he finished the prayer, and we were waiting for him to say the taslim, he said the takbir and prostrated twice while sitting, before the taslim. Then he said the taslim."

صَلَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ فَقَامَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ وَنَظَرْنَا تَسْلِيمَهُ كَبَّرَ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ قَبْلَ التَّسْلِيمِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ

Abdullah bin Buhainah told him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up following two rak'ahs of Zuhr and did not sit down (for tashahhud). When he finished the prayer he prostrated twice, saying Takbir for each prostration, while he was sitting, before he said the taslim, and the people prostrated with him. (He did that) in place of the sitting that he had forgotten.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَامَ فِي الثِّنْتَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ كَبَّرَ فِي كُلِّ سَجْدَةٍ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ وَسَجَدَهُمَا النَّاسُ مَعَهُ مَكَانَ مَا نَسِيَ مِنَ الْجُلُوسِ

It was narrated from ‘Abdur-Rahman Al-A’raj that Ibn Buhainah told him that the Prophet ﷺ stood up in the second Rak’ah of Zuhr and forgot to sit. When he had finished his prayer, and before he said the Salam, he performed the two prostrations for forgetfulness (Sahw) and said the Salam.

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَامَ فِي ثِنْتَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ نَسِيَ الْجُلُوسَ حَتَّى إِذَا فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ إِلاَّ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَىِ السَّهْوِ وَسَلَّمَ

«صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَامَ وَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ وَقَامَ النَّاسُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ نَظَرْنَا تَسْلِيمَهُ فَكَبَّرَ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ»

[AI] "He performed the first two raka'ahs, and they praised Allah in them. He did not sit down. Then, after he completed his prayer, he performed two prostrations after the tasleem (the final salutation of the prayer). Then, he said: 'This is how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ acted.'"

أَنَّهُ قَامَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ فَسَبَّحُوا بِهِ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ التَّسْلِيمِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَكَذَا فَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

It was narrated from ‘Abdur-Rahman Al-A’raj that Ibn Buhainah told him that the Prophet ﷺ stood up in the second Rak’ah of Zuhr and forgot to sit. Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from al-Araj that Abdullah ibn Buhayna said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed two rakas with us and then stood without sitting and the people stood with him. When he had finished the prayerand we had seen him say the taslim, he said 'Allah is greater' and did two sajdas from the sitting position and then said the taslim again."

أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَلَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ فَقَامَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ وَنَظَرْنَا تَسْلِيمَهُ كَبَّرَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ قَبْلَ التَّسْلِيمِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said from Abd ar- Rahman ibn Hurmuz that Abdullah ibn Buhayna said, "The Messengerof Allah ﷺ prayed dhuhr with us and he stood straight up after two rakas without sitting. When he had finished the prayer, he did two sajdas and then said the taslim after that." Malik said, concerning someone who forgot in his prayer and stood up after he had completed four rakas and recited and then went into ruku and then, when he raised his head from ruku, remembered that he had already completed (his prayer), "He returns to a sitting position and does not do any sajda. If he has already done one sajda I do not think he should do the other. Then when his prayer is finished he does two sajdas from the sitting position after saying the taslim."

أَنَّهُ قَالَ صَلَّى لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ فَقَامَ فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ وَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ فِيهِمَا فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ

[AI] "He informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood for two units of Dhuhr prayer without sitting down. After completing his prayer, he prostrated two prostrations and then he gave the salutation."

أَخْبَرَهُ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَامَ فِي ثِنْتَيْنِ مِنَ الظُّهْرِ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up in the two units of prayer and did not sit until he finished his prayer. Then he prostrated twice, and then he made the salutation."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَامَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ مِنَ الصَّلَاةِ فَلَمْ يَقْعُدْ حَتَّى فَرَغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ»

[AI] "He (the narrator) said, 'He (the Prophet) stood up in the first two units of prayer, so they (the companions) praised Allah in it and did not sit. Then, when he finished his prayer, he performed two prostrations after the greeting (salam).' Then he said, 'This is what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did.'"

أَنَّهُ «قَامَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ فَسَبَّحُوا بِهِ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ التَّسْلِيمِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ «هَكَذَا فَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ»

(he was from the tribe of Uzd Shanu'a [??] and was the ally of the tribe of ʿAbdul-Manaf and was one of the companions of the Prophet): Once the Prophet ﷺ led us in the Zuhr prayer and stood up after the second rakʿa and did not sit down. The people stood up with him. When the prayer was about to end and the people were waiting for him to say the Taslim, he said Takbir while sitting and prostrated twice before saying the Taslim and then he said the Taslim." أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ ابْنَ بُحَيْنَةَ بْنِ أَزِدْ شَنُوءَةَ وَهُوَ حَلِيفٌ لِبَنِي عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ مَنَافٍ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى بِهِمْ صَلَاةَ الظُّهْرِ فَقَامَ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الْأُولَيَيْنِ فَلَمْ يَجْلِسْ وَقَامَ النَّاسُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى إِذَا قَضَى الصَّلَاةَ وَانْتَظَرَ النَّاسُ تَسْلِيمَهُ كَبَّرَ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ
