[Machine] Abu Dharr said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed him to fast the white days, which are the thirteenth, fourteenth, and fifteenth of each month.
"The Messenger of Allah (saas) said to me: "Shall I not tell you of a treasure which is one of the treasures of Paradise?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah).'" (sahih) (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3825)
“The best things with which you change gray hair are henna and Katam.”* (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3622)
The Prophet ﷺ said: The best things with which grey hair are changed are henna and katam. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4205)
[Machine] I went to visit Abu Dharr, but I couldn't find him. I saw his wife and asked her about him. She said, "He is in his farm, driving or leading two camels, one of which carries a load on its back, while the other carries a load around its neck." I said, "O Abu Dharr, there is no one among the people whom I love to meet more than you, and there is no one whose meeting I hate to miss more than you." He said, "May Allah be your father, what brought you here?" I said, "During the time of ignorance, I committed some sins and I was hoping that in meeting you, you would inform me whether there is any chance for my repentance and a way out for me. And I was also afraid that in meeting you, you would tell me that there is no chance for my repentance." He asked, "During the time of ignorance?" I said, "Yes." Then he said, "May Allah forgive what is past." After that, he swung his head to the woman and ordered her to bring some food. So she brought some dates for him, and he took them and started to eat. Then Abu Dharr explained the statement of the Prophet ﷺ regarding the woman. He said, "If she goes to straighten it, she will break it, and if she leaves it, then it will be a means of seduction." So, she left her hair as it was, and it was as if there were birds' nests in it. Abu Dharr said, "Keep away from women, as I am fasting." Then he stood up and prayed. I saw him performing a perfect rukoo' (bowing) and a perfect sujood (prostration). Then I saw him looking to see if he had eaten enough or if there was any food remaining. Afterwards, he placed his hand on mine and said, "We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return." I said, "What is the matter with you?" He replied, "I am afraid that due to the severe hunger you may tell me something which is not true." I said, "I am afraid that it might be a lie if I said I am fasting while you see me eating." He said, "Allah is your father, if I lied to you once I met you, then why didn't you tell me that you were fasting when I saw you eating?" I said, "Yes, I am fasting these three days of the month, so I accepted the food with you."

[Machine] I met Abu Dharr, so I said to him: "It has reached me that you narrate a hadith from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ." He said: "Indeed, it would not be appropriate for me to lie about the Messenger of Allah ﷺ after I have heard it from him. So, what did you hear from me?" I said: "I heard that you mentioned three types of people whom Allah loves and three types of people whom Allah dislikes." He said: "What did you hear about those whom Allah loves?" I said: "The man who confronts the enemy in a battalion and persists in fighting until he is killed or he is victorious with his companions, and a group of people who travel for a long time until they wish to touch the ground, so they descend and one of them steps forward to pray until he awakens them for their departure, and the man who has a neighbor who harms him but he endures patiently until they are separated by death or moving away." I said: "Who are the people whom Allah dislikes?" He said: "The hypocritical merchant or the deceitful buyer, and the one who withholds and doesn't give, and the arrogant beggar."

[Machine] I came to Abu Dharr and asked him, "What is your wealth?" He replied, "My work." I said to him, "Tell me." He said, "Yes, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'There are no two Muslim parents whose three children die before reaching puberty, except that Allah will forgive them.' I said to him, 'Tell me more.' He said, 'Yes, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'No Muslim spends from his wealth for the sake of Allah, except that the curtains of Paradise will be opened for him. Every one of them will invite him to what he has.' I said, 'How is that?' He said, 'If it is men, then it is two men. If it is camels, then it is two camels. If it is cows, then it is two cows.'"

The Messenger of 'Allah ﷺ said: When any one of you stands for prayer and there is a thing before him equal to the back of the saddle that covers him and in case there is not before him (a thing) equal to the back of the saddle, his prayer would be cut off by (passing of an) ass, woman, and black Dog. I said: O Abu Dharr, what feature is there in a black dog which distinguish it from the red dog and the yellow dog? He said: O, son of my brother, I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as you are asking me, and he said: The black dog is a devil. (Using translation from Muslim 510a)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I have been given two treasures from beneath the Throne, and no prophet before me was given these two treasures, namely the last two verses of Surah al-Baqarah."

[Machine] "I was walking with the Prophet ﷺ in the outskirts of Medina at night, and we were looking at the stars. He said, 'O Abu Dharr!' I said, 'Labbayka Ya Rasulallah.' He said, 'I do not like for someone to have anything with me except for what they need for the night. I have one dinar with me, except for a dinar that I have set aside for debt. I would rather say to it, "This is for the slaves of Allah." He then gestured with his right hand, in front of him, and to his left. We then continued walking. He said, 'O Abu Dharr! The majority of people on the Day of Judgment will be the least among them, except for those who say such and such, gesturing with his right hand, in front of him, and to his left. We continued walking. He said, 'O Abu Dharr! Be as you are until I come to you.' Then he went away from me until he disappeared from my sight. I heard a commotion and a voice, so I said, 'Perhaps the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has encountered something.' I felt the urge to follow him, but then I remembered his words: 'Do not move from here until I come to you.' So I waited for him until he came back. I mentioned what I had heard, and he said, 'That was Jibril who came to me and said, "Whoever dies among your Ummah without associating anything with Allah will enter Paradise."' I said, 'Even if he committed adultery or theft?' He said, 'Even if he committed adultery or theft.'"

[Machine] He used to water his garden when a group of people came to him and he asked: "Which one of you will bring water for Abu Dhar and will estimate the number of hairs on his head?" A man said: "I will." So the man brought water for him and poured it into the basin, then he knocked on it. Abu Dhar was standing, so he sat down and then lay down. They asked him: "O Abu Dhar, why did you sit down and then lie down?" He replied: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "If one of you becomes angry while standing, let him sit down. If his anger goes away, well and good, otherwise let him lie down."

[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allahﷺ while he was in the shade of the Ka'bah, and he said, "They are the ones who will incur loss, by the Lord of the Ka'bah they are the ones who will incur loss, by the Lord of the Ka'bah." Then I became distressed and started taking deep breaths. He said, "I said, 'This is evil that has befallen me.'" He said, "I said, 'Who are they, O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you?' He said, 'They are the majority, except those who say such and such about the servants of Allah.' And very few are those who would leave behind camels, she-camels, or cows and not pay their due Zakat, except that they will come on the Day of Judgment as fat as they can be and will trample them with their hooves and butt them with their horns, until the matter is settled among the people. Then their first ones will return to their last ones.' Ibn Numayr said, 'Whenever their last ones were exhausted, their first ones would come back to them.'"

[Machine] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the mosque when the sun set. He said, "O Abu Dharr, do you know where the sun goes?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Indeed, it goes until it prostrates beneath the Throne of its Lord, then seeks permission to return, and permission is granted to it. It is as if it has been said to it, 'Go back to where you came from,' and so it returns to its rising place. That is its resting place." Then he recited, "And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point." (Surah Ya-Sin 36:38)

[Machine] While the Prophet ﷺ was delivering a sermon, a Bedouin man with disheveled hair stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have been afflicted by wolves." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "That is not what concerns me the most for you. What troubles me the most is when worldly possessions are poured upon you. I wish that my Ummah does not adorn themselves with gold."

"There are three whom Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, loves, and three whom Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, hates. As for those whom Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, loves: A man who comes to some people and asks (to be given something) for the sake of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, and not for the sake of their relationship, but they do not give him. So one man stayed behind and gave to him in secret, and no one knew of his giving except Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, and the one to whom he gave it. People who travel all night until sleep becomes dearer to them than anything that may be equivalent to it, so they lay down their heads (and slept). Then a man among them got up and started praying to Me and beseeching Me, reciting MY Ayat. And a man who was on a campaign and met the enemy and they fled, but he went forward (pursuing them) until he was killed or Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, granted victory to him. And three whom Allah hates are the old man who commits Zina, the poor man who shows off, and the rich man who is unjust." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2570)
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ : "Indeed, Allah loves three and dislikes three. Allah dislikes an old man who commits adultery, a proud beggar, and a stingy giver. Allah loves three: a man who was in a unit of soldiers and took care of them until he was either killed or granted victory by Allah, a person who was in a group and they became lost, so they came down late at night and sleeping was more beloved to them than what was needed, but they slept and then stood up to recite my verses, and a person who was approached by a man seeking help from them due to the proximity between them and themselves, and they were stingy toward him, so he followed them, but they gave him something where only Allah could see."

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, the rich have gone with the reward of praying, fasting, and performing Hajj." He said, "And you, do you not pray, fast, and perform Hajj?" I said, "They give charity and we do not give charity." He said, "In you is charity; your raising your bone from the path is charity, your guidance to the path is charity, your support of the weak by your strength is charity, your explanation of the unknown is charity, and your fulfilling the needs of your wife is charity." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, if we indulge in our desires, will we be rewarded?" He said, "Do you see if you were to place it in the forbidden, would you be sinful?" I said, "Yes." He said, "So, you would be held accountable for evil but not held accountable for good."

“Allah the Blessed and Exalted says: ‘O My slaves, all of you are sinners except those whom I have saved. So ask Me for forgiveness, I will forgive you. Whoever among you knows that I have the power to forgive and asks Me to forgive by My power, I will forgive him. All of you are astray except those whom I guide. Ask Me for guidance and I will guide you. All of you are poor except those whom I enrich (make independent of means). Ask of Me and I will grant you provision. Even if your living and your dead, your first and your last, your fresh and your dry, were all as pious as the most pious among My slaves, that would not increase my dominion as much as a gnat’s wing, and if they were to be as evil as the most evil among My slaves, that would not detract from My dominion as much as a gnat’s wing. Even if your living and your dead, your first and your last, your fresh and your dry, were to join together and each of them were to ask for all that he wishes for, that would only detract from My dominion as much as if one of you were to pass by the edge of the sea and dip a needle in it and withdraw it. That is because I am the Most Generous, Majestic. I give with a word; when I will something, all I do is say to it “Be!” – and it is.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4257)

[Machine] Why shouldn't I cry when you die in a foreign land and I have no hand in burying you, and I don't have a shroud that would fit you to wrap you in it?" He said, "So don't cry and be glad, for I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "No two Muslim women have two children or three and they show patience and count on Allah except they will see the Fire forever." And I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "One of you will die in a foreign land and a group of believers will witness him, and none of those people will be left except he has died in a village or a group."
Abu Dharr said (and not the Prophet): If there is not anything like the back of a saddle in front of a man who is praying, then a donkey, a black dog, and a woman cut off his prayer. I asked him: Why has the black dog been specified, distinguishing it from a red, a yellow and a white dog? He replied: My nephew, I also asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the same question as you asked me. He said: The black dog is a devil. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 702)
[Machine] Abu Dhar, I said, "O Messenger of Allah, can a person love a people but not be able to do their deeds?" He (the Prophet) said, "You, Abu Dhar, are with those whom you love." I said, "Indeed, I love Allah and His Messenger, may He repeat it once or twice."
[Machine] He said, "O Messenger of Allah, a man does a good deed and people praise him and commend him for it." The Prophet ﷺ said, "That is the quick good news for the believer."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ advised me that if I cook a pot of soup, I should increase its broth, as it would be more sufficient for the neighbors.
[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ came to me while I was sleeping in the mosque of Madinah and he hit me with his foot. He said, "Don't you see yourself sleeping here?" I said, "O Prophet of Allah, my eyes overcame me." He asked, "What will you do when you are taken out of here?" I said, "I will go to the blessed and sacred land of Sham (Syria)." He asked, "What will you do when you are taken out of Sham?" I said, "I will go back to it." He asked, "What will you do when you are taken out of there?" I said, "What else can I do, O Prophet of Allah, except fight with my sword?" So, the Prophet ﷺ said, "Shouldn't I show you what is better for you than that and closer to guidance? Listen and obey, and follow them wherever they lead you."
