The Prophet ﷺ said: After the grave sins which Allah has prohibited the greatest sin is that a man dies while he has debt due from him and does not leave anything to pay it off, and meets Him with it.

A bedouin entered the mosque while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was sitting. He offered two rak'ahs of prayer, according to the version of Ibn 'Abdah. He then said: O Allah, have mercy on me and on Muhammad and do not have mercy on anyone along with us. The Prophet ﷺ said: You have narrowed down (a thing) that was broader. After a short while he passed a water in the corner of the mosque. The people rushed towards him. The Prophet ﷺ prevented them and said: You have been sent to facilitate and not create difficulties. Pour a bucket of water upon it.

The Khutbah of need is: Al-hamdu lillahi nahmadhu wa nastaʿinuhu wa nastaghfiruhu, wa naʿudhu billahi min shururi anfusina wa min sayi'ati aʿmalina, man yahdihillahu fala mudilla lahu, wa man yudlil fala hadiya lahu. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshiped but Allah, alone with no partner or associate, and that Muhammad ﷺ is His slave and His Messenger). Then add to your Khutbah the following three verses: 'O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except in the state of Islam (as Muslims) with complete submission to Allah.' And: 'O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person, and from him He created his wife, and from them both He created many men and women, and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you.' And: 'O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allah and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth. He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins...' until the end of the verse.”

He whom Allah guides has no one who can lead him astray, and he whom He leads astray has no one to guide him. I testify that there is no god but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and Apostle. "You who believe,...fear Allah by Whom you ask your mutual rights, and reverence the wombs. Allah has been watching you." ..."you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared, and die only as Muslims" ...."you who believe, fear Allah as He should be feared, and die only as Muslims"....."you who believe, fear Allah and say what is true. He will make your deeds sound, and forgive your sins. He who obeys Allah and His Apostle has achieved a mighty success." The narrator, Muhammad ibn Sulayman, did mention the word "inna" (verily). [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught us the Tashahhud and the sermon as he taught us a Surah from the Quran. The greetings are for Allah, the prayers, and the good deeds. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. And the sermon: Praise be to Allah, we praise Him, seek His help and forgiveness. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and messenger. "Fear Allah, by whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed, Allah is ever, over you, an Observer." (Quran 4:1) "O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment." (Quran 33:70-71)
"The Prophet ﷺ taught us Khutbat Al-Hajah: Alhamduu lillahi nasta'inuhu wa nastagfiruhu, wa na'udhu billahi min shururi anfusina wa sayi'ati a'malina. Man yahdihillahu fala mudilla lahu wa man yudlil fala hadiya lahu. (Praise be to Allah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.) Then he recited the following three verses: O you who believe! Fear Allah as He should be feared, and die not except as Muslims; O Mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person, and from him he created his wife, and from them he created many men and women, and fear Allah through Whom you demand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship). Surely, Allah is Ever an All-Watcher over you); O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allah and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth.)" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1404)
A man came to Prophet ﷺ. He then mentioned a similar tradition but not completely. This version has: People began to speak ill of him but he (the Prophet) forbade them. Then they began to ask forgiveness from him, but he forbade them by saying. He is a man who had committed a sin. Allah will call him to account himself.
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to his bed at night, he would say: in the name of Allah, I have laid down my side for Allah. O Allah! forgive me my sin, drive away my devil, free me from my responsibility, and place me in the highest assembly. Abu Dawud said: Abu Hammam al-Ahwazi transmitted it from Thawr. He mentioned Abu Zuhair al-Anmari (instead of Abu al-Azhar).
[Machine] The translation of the Arabic phrase is: "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would lie down in his bed, he would say, 'O Allah, forgive my sins, expel my Shaytan, remove the burden from my heart, make my scale heavy (with good deeds), and place me in the highest assembly.'"
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ, when he laid down to sleep, would say: "Oh Allah, forgive my sins, repel Satan, fulfill my needs, make my scale heavy, and elevate me to the highest Paradise."
[Machine] The translation of the passage is: "That the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , used to say when he went to bed at night, 'In the name of Allah, I lay down on my side. O Allah, forgive my sins, drive away my devil and release my burden. And make my scale heavy.'"
Asma' bint al-Hakam said: I heard Ali say: I was a man; when I heard a tradition from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Allah benefited me with it as much as He willed. But when some one of his companions narrated a tradition to me I adjured him. When he took an oath, I testified him. AbuBakr narrated to me a tradition, and AbuBakr narrated truthfully. He said: I heard the apostle of Allah ﷺ saying: When a servant (of Allah) commits a sin, and he performs ablution well, and then stands and prays two rak'ahs, and asks pardon of Allah, Allah pardons him. He then recited this verse: "And those who, when they commit indecency or wrong their souls, remember Allah" (Al-Qur'an 3:135).

Shu'bah said: And he recited one of these two verses: ʿwhosoever works evil, will have the recompense thereofʿ [an-Nisa'4:110] or “And those who, when they have committed Fahishah (illegal sexual intercourse)...ʿ [Al 'Imran 3:135).

[Machine] I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ a hadith that Allah will benefit me with whatever He wills to benefit me until Abu Bakr narrated to me. Whenever Abu Bakr narrated to me about the Prophet ﷺ from some of his companions, I would request him to take an oath. If he took an oath, I would believe him. And Abu Bakr narrated to me and Abu Bakr also believed in the Prophet ﷺ when he said, "No servant commits a sin and then performs ablution and prays two units of prayer and seeks forgiveness from Allah for that sin, except that Allah will forgive him."

(Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1521)
