The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The first defect that permeated Banu Isra'il was that a man (of them) met another man and said: O so-and-so, fear Allah, and abandon what you are doing, for it is not lawful for you. He then met him the next day and that did not prevent him from eating with him, drinking with him and sitting with him. When they did so. Allah mingled their hearts with each other. He then recited the verse: "curses were pronounced on those among the children of Isra'il who rejected Faith, by the tongue of David and of Jesus the son of Mary"...up to "wrongdoers". He then said: By no means, I swear by Allah, you must enjoin what is good and prohibit what is evil, prevent the wrongdoer, bend him into conformity with what is right, and restrict him to what is right.

“When the Children of Isral became deficient in religious commitment, a man would see his brother committing sin and would tell him not to do it, but the next day, what he had seen him do did not prevent him from eating or drinking with him, or mixing with him. So Allah made the hearts of those who did not commit sin like the hearts of those who did, and He revealed Qur’an concerning them and said: “Those among the Children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of David and ‘Eisa, son of Maryam” until he reached: “And had they believed in Allah, and in the Prophet and in what has been revealed to him, never would they have taken them (the disbelievers) as their friends; but many of them are disobedient (to Allah).”[5:78-81] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat up and said: "No, not until they take the hand of the wrongdoer (i.e. restrain him] and force him to follow the right way."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, those before you, when one of them committed a sinful act, the one who used to forbid it would warn and admonish them. But when the next day came, he would sit with and eat and drink with him as if he had not seen him commit the sin the day before. So when Allah saw this from them, He caused their hearts to clash with one another, and then cursed them on the tongue of their Prophet Dawud and Isa son of Maryam. This was because of their disobedience and transgression. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you will surely command what is right and forbid what is wrong, and you will surely take action against the oppressor, or Allah will cause your hearts to clash with one another, and then curse you as He cursed them." Khalaf said, "By Allah, you will surely command what is right and forbid what is wrong and oppress them."

Mentioning the rest of the tradition he said that Negus said: I bear witness that he is the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and it is he about whom Christ son of Mary gave good news. It I were not in the land which I am, I would come to him and carry his shoes.

But they disobeyed them and mixed with them in their lives. So, their hearts were divided against each other, and then David and Jesus, son of Mary, cursed them with their tongues." Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , sat down and was leaning. Then he said, "No, by Him in whose hand is my soul, until you correct them properly."

The next day, what he saw him doing would not prevent him from eating with him, drinking with him, and associating with him. So Allah pitted their hearts against each other, and He revealed about them in the Qur'an, He said: Those among the Children of Isra'il who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of Dawud and 'Eisa, son of Mariam. That was because they disobeyed and were ever transgressing.' And he recited until he reached: 'And had they believed in Allah, and in the Prophet, and in what has been revealed to him, never would they have taken them as friends; but many of them are rebellious (5:78-81).' "On the night on which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was taken on the Night Journey (Isra'), he met Ibrahim, Musa and 'Eisa, and they discussed the Hour. They started with Ibrahim, and asked him about it, but he did not have any knowledge of it. Then they asked Musa, and he did not have any knowledge of it. Then they asked 'Eisa bin Maryam, and he said: 'I have been assigned to some tasks before it happens.' As for as when it will take place, no one knows that except Allah. Then he mentioned Dajjal and said: 'I will descend and kill him, then the people will return to their own lands and will be confronted with Gog and Magog people, who will: "swoop down from every mound."[21:96] They will not pass by any water but they will drink it, (and they will not pass) by anything but they will spoil it. They (the people) will beseech Allah, and I will pray to Allah to kill them. The earth will be filled with their stench and (the people) will beseech Allah and I will pray to Allah, then the sky will send down rain that will carry them and throw them in the sea. Then the mountains will turn to dust and the earth will be stretched out like a hide. I have been promised that when that happens, the Hour will come upon the people, like a pregnant woman whose family does not know when she will suddenly give birth.'" (One of the narrators) 'Awwam said: "Confirmation of that is found in the Book of Allah, where Allah says: "Until, when Gog and Magog people are let loose (from their barrier), and they swoop down from every mound (21:96)."

Jesus feared accustoming his tongue to evil

malik:56-4Mālik > Yaḥyá b. Saʿīd

that ˹Once˺ Jesus, the son of Mary, encountered a pig on the road. He said to it, "Go in peace." He was asked, "Do you say this to a pig?" Jesus said, "I fear accustoming my tongue to evil speech."

malik:56-8Mālik > Balaghah

Malik related to me that he heard that Isa ibn Maryam used to say, "Do not speak much without the mention of Allah for you will harden your hearts. A hard heart is far from Allah, but you do not know. Do not look at the wrong actions of people as if you were lords. Look at your wrong actions as if you were slaves. Some people are afflicted by wrong action and some people are protected from it. Be merciful to the people of affliction and praise Allah for His protection."

Three powerful councils from Prophet Jesus on character improvement

ahmad-zuhd:311ʿAbdullāh from my father > Hāshim > Ṣāliḥ > Abū ʿImrān al-Jawnī > Abū al-Jald

that ʿĪsá (Jesus) ﷻ advised the ḥawārīs (disciples), "Do not speak incessantly without the dhikr (remembrance) of Allah ﷻ lest your heart would become hard, for indeed the hard-hearted is distant from Allah ﷻ but he is unaware of it."

"And do not look at the sins of the people as though you are lords (masters), rather you should look at your own sins as though you are slaves."

"And the people are of two ˹types:˺ the ones who are safe, and the ones that are put through trial. So be merciful to those under trial and praise Allah for your safety."

ahmad:331ʿAbd al-Razzāq > Maʿmar > al-Zuhrī > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUtbah b. Masʿūd > Ibn ʿAbbāsʿan ʿUmar

Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, sent Muhammad ﷺ with the truth, and He sent down with him the Book. One of the things that were revealed to him was the verse of stoning. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stoned [adulterers] and we stoned [them] after him. Then he said: We used to recite, ʿDo not forsake your real father (and attribute yourself to someone else), for this is an act of kufr, if you do that, or it is an act of kufr to forsake your real father (and attribute yourself to someone else).ʿ And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿDo not praise me as the son of Maryam was praised; rather I am a slave, so say: His slave and His Messenger.ʿ Perhaps Maʿmar said: ʿAs the Christians praised the son of Maryam.”

He went out of the palm tree, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, 'What is wrong with her? May Allah have mercy on her! If she had left him, it would have been clear.' Then he asked, 'O son of a hunter, what do you see?' He replied, 'I see truth and falsehood, and I see a throne on water.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'He has been tested.' Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, 'Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?' He replied, 'Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I believe in Allah and His Messengers,' and he let him go. Then he came to him a second or third time, and with him were Abu Bakr and Umar bin Al-Khattab, among a group of Muhajireen and Ansar, and I was with him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ hurried ahead of us, hoping to hear something from his speech and know whether he was the Dajjal or not. But his mother got ahead of us and said, 'O Abdullah, this is Abu Al-Qasim who has come.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'What is wrong with her? May Allah have mercy on her! If she had left him, it would have been clear.' Then he asked, 'O son of a hunter, what do you see?' He replied, 'I see truth and falsehood, and I see a throne on water.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, 'Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?' He replied, 'Do you bear witness that I am the Messenger of Allah?' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'I believe in Allah and His Messengers,' and he let him go. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'O son of a hunter, we have hidden something for you, so what is it?' He replied, 'Ad-Dukh, Ad-Dukh.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, 'Go away, go away.' Umar bin Al-Khattab said, 'O Messenger of Allah, give me permission to kill him.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'If he is he (the Dajjal), you are not his companion, for his companion will be 'Isa ibn Maryam. If he is not he (the Dajjal), then it is not permissible for you to kill a man from the people of the covenant.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ remained anxious, fearing that he might be the Dajjal.

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "There will be three Egypt's for the Muslims: one in the meeting of the two seas, one in the lake, and one in Sham. People will be terrified by three frights, and then the Dajjal will emerge among the people. Those who face the east will defeat him. The first Egypt to intercept him will be the Egypt in the meeting of the two seas. Its people will be divided into three factions: one faction will say, 'We will stay and see what happens,' another faction will join the Arabs, and another faction will join the Egypt that comes after them. With the Dajjal, there will be seventy thousand armed with armors and accompanying him, and the majority of them will be Jews and women. Then, the other Egypt that comes after will intercept him and its people will be divided into three factions: one faction will say, 'We will stay and see what happens,' another faction will join the Arabs, and another faction will join the Egypt that comes after them towards the west of Sham. The Muslims will gather at the pass of Afiq, so they send out a detachment, and when the detachment is hit, it will be severe for them. They will be affected by severe famine and hardship, to the extent that one of them will burn and consume the string of his bow. While they are in that state, a caller from magic will call, 'O people, the relief has come to you three times.' Some of them will say to others, 'Indeed, this is the voice of a satisfied man.' Then, 'Isa ibn Maryam will descend when it is time for Fajr prayer. Their leader will say to him, 'O Spirit of Allah, pray.' He will reply, 'The leaders of this Ummah are some over others.' Then, their leader will come forward and lead the prayer. When he finishes his prayer, 'Isa will take his weapon and head towards the Dajjal, and when the Dajjal sees him, he will melt just as lead melts. 'Isa will place his weapon between the Dajjal's shoulders and kill him, and the followers of the Dajjal will be defeated. That day, there will be nothing to hide from them, to the extent that the tree will say, 'O believer, there is a disbeliever behind me,' and the stone will say, 'O believer, there is a disbeliever behind me."

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say to the Muslims, "There are three Egypt's: one at the meeting point of the two seas, one in the Nile Delta, and one in Sham (Syria). The Muslims will be terrified by three terrifying events: the emergence of the Dajjal (Antichrist) in the East, which will be defeated by the first Egypt (meeting point of the two seas) with an army of seventy thousand, accompanied by a group of Jews and women. The people of Egypt will be divided into three groups: one group will stay in Egypt and say, 'We will defend ourselves,' one group will join the Bedouins, and one group will join the second Egypt (in the Nile Delta). Then the Dajjal will proceed to Sham, while its people take refuge in the mountain pass of Afiq. They will send a detachment to confront him, but they will be defeated. They will face severe famine and hardships, to the extent that one of them will burn his bow and eat it. While they are in that state, a caller from the sky will announce, 'O people, here comes your help!' They will say, 'This is the voice of a well-fed person.' Then Jesus the son of Mary ﷺ will descend while leading the Fajr prayer, and the people will say to him, 'O Spirit of Allah, come forward and lead us in prayer.' He will reply, 'You are all leaders of Muhammad's nation, some of you leading others. So, you should come forward and lead the prayer.' The leader will then perform the prayer, and Jesus will take his weaponry and head towards the Dajjal. When the Dajjal sees Jesus, he will dissolve like salt in water, and Jesus will place his spear in the ground between the two horns of the Dajjal and kill him. The companions of the Dajjal will be defeated, and there will not be a single one among them without being killed. [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When the night of my Isra' (the Night Journey) was upon me, a pleasant fragrance came upon me. So I said, 'O Jibril, what is this pleasant fragrance?' He said, 'This is the fragrance of the combing of the daughter of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and her children.' I said, 'What is her affair?' He said, 'While she was combing the hair of the daughter of Fir'aun one day, the comb fell from her hand. She said, 'Bismillah' (in the name of Allah). The daughter of Fir'aun said, 'Is it to me you are referring, my father?' She said, 'No, but to my Lord and your Lord, Allah.' The daughter of Fir'aun said, 'I will inform him about that.' So she informed him, and he called her and said, 'O So-and-so, do you have a Lord other than me?' She said, 'Yes, my Lord and your Lord is Allah.' So he ordered for a cow of brass to be brought, and it was heated. Then he ordered for her and her children to be thrown into it. She said to him, 'I have a need for you.' He said, 'What is your need?' She said, 'I want my bones and the bones of my children to be gathered together in one garment and buried.' He said, 'This will be done for you.' Then he ordered for her children to be thrown before her, one by one, until it came to a young boy who was still breastfeeding. She hesitated because of him, so the boy said, 'O mother, enter, for the punishment of this world is easier than the punishment of the Hereafter.' So she entered, and Ibn Abbas said, 'Four individuals have spoken as infants: Jesus son of Mary ﷺ , the companion of Jurayj, the witness of Yusuf (Joseph), and the son of the daughter of Fir'aun who said this.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "When I was taken on the Night Journey, I passed by a pleasant fragrance and asked: 'What is this fragrance?' They replied: 'This is the fragrance of the comb of the daughter of Pharaoh, and her children used to comb her hair. When the comb fell from her hand, she said: 'In the name of Allah!' Her daughter asked: 'Is it for my father?' She replied: 'No, not for your father, but for my Lord and your Lord, and the Lord of your father.' Her daughter said: 'I will inform my father about this.' So she told Pharaoh, who summoned her and her children, and asked her: 'What do you want?' She replied: 'Gather my bones and the bones of my children, and bury us all together.' He acknowledged the truth in her request and brought her children to throw them one by one into the grave, until the last one was her young breastfeeding son. He said to her: 'Be patient, O mother, for you are upon the truth.' Then she was thrown into the grave along with her son." The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said: "Four people spoke while still children: this child (referring to the son of the woman of Pharaoh), the witness of Joseph, the companion of Jurayj, and Jesus son of Mary, peace be upon them."
