Ibn 'Umar reported that Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade (the preparation) of Nabidh in a green pitcher (besmeared with pitch) and in varnished jar.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْجَرِّ وَالدُّبَّاءِ
It is reported on the authority of Ibn Umar that Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade (the preparation of Nabidh in) a green pitcher (besmeared with pitch) and gourd and varnished jar.
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَنْهَى عَنِ الْجَرِّ وَالدُّبَّاءِ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade ˹the preparation˺ of nabīdh (drink made out of dates) in a pitcher.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْجَرِّ أَنْ يُنْبَذَ فِيهِ
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade Ad-Dubba' (gourds).

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَالنَّقِيرِ وَالْجَرِّ وَالْمُزَفَّتِ
I heard Abul-Hakam said: I asked Ibn ʻUmar about earthenware jars and he narrated to us from ‘Umar ؓ that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade (making nabeedh in) earthenware jars, gourds, and varnished jars,
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْجَرِّ وَعَنِ الدُّبَّاءِ وَعَنِ الْمُزَفَّتِ
I was sitting with Ibn 'Umar when a man came to him, and said: Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbid the preparation of Nabidh in a green pitcher (besmeared with pitch), in varnished jar and in gourd? Thereupon he said: Yes. (Using translation from Muslim 1997i)
أَنَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْجَرِّ والدُّبَّاءِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ
