1. Introduction (2/8)
[Machine] "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all the worlds, and may His blessings be upon His Prophet Muhammad and all his family. This book is a compilation of what has been narrated to us from those who narrated from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, from both men and women, according to the order of the Arabic alphabet, starting with the letter "alif" (A), because no one preceded them. I have mentioned one, two, three, or more narrations from each of them, according to the abundance or scarcity of their narrations. I have excluded those who have very few narrations, and I have mentioned all the narrations of those who did not have any narration from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, but had mention from the Companions who were martyred with the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, or had passed away earlier, mentioning them from the books of battles and the history of the scholars. I mentioned them to indicate the number of narrators from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and mention their Companions. And I will compile their Musnad (collections of hadith) through thorough investigation in the order of tribes, with the help and strength of Allah, if Allah wills."

[Machine] "That Umar ibn Al-Khattab, whenever he got angry, he would clench his fist and blow."
[Machine] "Umar used to grab his ear, which means he would grab his own ear, then he would mount the horse."
[Machine] "Once, Umar was presented with a proposal for him to dye his beard, so he replied, 'Do you want me to extinguish my light just as so-and-so has extinguished his?'"
[Machine] I heard Abu 'Amir Sulaim bin 'Amir saying, "I saw 'Umar not changing anything about his beard."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Whoever becomes gray-haired in Islam, it will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection." And I will not change my gray hair.
[Machine] "I was in the city when suddenly I saw a man who was physically impaired but extremely tall, he stood out among people as if he was on a mount. It turns out, it was Omar."
1.2.1 Subsection
[Machine] "I saw Umar as a massive man, as if he were from the men of the Banu Sadus tribe."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Gabriel ﷺ told me that Islam should mourn the death of 'Umar."
[Machine] When Umar was wounded, I heard a voice crying for the sake of Islam. Whoever cries, is on the brink of destruction. The covenant has not yet come, and the world is turning away from its best state. It has deceived those who believe in the promise.
[Machine] "And Omar ibn Al-Khattab became my guardian for ten years, then he passed away."
[Machine] That Umar ibn Al-Khattab died at the age of sixty-six years.
[Machine] That Umar ibn Al-Khattab died at the age of sixty-three.
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , passed away at the age of 63. Abu Bakr also passed away at the age of 63. Umar passed away at the age of 63."
[Machine] "Umar was killed when he was sixty-one years old."
[Machine] "That Umar passed away when he was fifty-five years old."
[Machine] And he said, "Grey hair has come to me faster than to my cousins from the Bani Mughirah tribe."
[Machine] "Omar was buried on Wednesday, for four remaining nights of Dhu al-Hijjah, in the year twenty-three."
[Machine] Umar was appointed in the month of Rajab in the thirteenth year and he was killed in the month of Dhul-Hijjah in the twenty-third year. He remained alive for three days after being stabbed, then he died in the end of Dhul-Hijjah. Suhaib led the funeral prayer for him, and his son Abdullah ibn Umar washed his body and shrouded him in five garments. He was buried next to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Umar was stabbed on Wednesday, the ninth day of the remaining days of Dhul-Hijjah. Some people say he died on that day, and his age on the day he died was what I have heard from Malik ibn Anas, who mentioned that the Prophet's ﷺ age when he died was sixty-three. Some people say it was fifty-nine, and others say it was fifty-three. Some people say it was forty-five, and his caliphate lasted for ten years, four months, and some days.
[Machine] "Ameer Al-Mu'mineen Umar was killed by Masdar Al-Hajj in the twenty-third year."
[Machine] Omar passed away at the age of thirty-three and his caliphate lasted for ten years.
[Machine] He was accused of practicing sorcery, and it was Abu Lu'lu'a, the servant of Al-Mughira ibn Shu'ba, who stabbed him. He was a Zoroastrian.
[Machine] Umar was stabbed, so they sent him to a doctor. A man from the Ansar came and gave him some milk to drink. The milk flowed out white from the wound under the navel. The doctor said to him, "Keep your promise, so what do you see happening to you tonight?" He replied, "Believe me."
1.2.2 Subsection
[Machine] "I witnessed the death of Umar ibn Al-Khattab, and the sun was eclipsed that day."
Can one of us sleep if he is junub? He said: ʿYes, if he does wudoo’ as for prayer.ʿ It was narrated from Ibn ʿUmar that ʿUmar asked the Prophet ﷺ... a similar hadeeth. (Using translation from Aḥmad 235)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ heard me speaking and my father said, "Indeed, Allah forbids you from swearing by your fathers."
[Machine] He said: O people, do not judge based on opinion in matters of religion. Indeed, you have seen me opposing the orders of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with my own opinion as an effort. By Allah, that has not diverted me from the truth. This happened on the day of Abu Jandal, when the message was between the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the people of Makkah. He said: "Write in the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful." They said: "Do you see that we have believed you in what you say?" However, you write in your own name, so that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ will be satisfied. I refused until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: "Do you see that I am satisfied and you refuse?" I said: "I am satisfied."
[Machine] I asked my father, "Who is the man who saved you from the idolaters when they attacked you?" He said, "That is Al-Aas ibn Wa'il As-Sahmi."
[Machine] "O Allah, when we were afflicted with drought during the time of our Prophet ﷺ, we sought your assistance through our Prophet's intercession, ﷺ . And now, we seek your assistance through the intercession of the uncle of our Prophet ﷺ, who was pleased with him."
[Machine] I heard Umar ibn al-Khattab say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say on the pulpit, "Gold for gold is usury unless equal for equal with no increase. Whatever exceeds that is usury." Ibn Umar said, "If you are in doubt, then ask Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri about it." So he went and asked Abu Sa'eed al-Khudri, who confirmed that he heard it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Ibn Abbas was asked about what Ibn Umar and Abu Sa'eed said, and he sought forgiveness and said, "This is an opinion that I have seen."
[Machine] "Do you agree with your father? I said yes, so we gathered at the Amir al-Mu'minin's (the leader of the believers) place. Sa'd said to him, 'I was appointed for this.'
Then I performed ablution and wiped my shoes. Then I prayed, and he said, 'You have done well and followed the sunnah (the way of the Prophet).'
He said, 'Your son Abdullah criticized me for that.'
He said, 'Oh Sa'd, you are older and more knowledgeable than him."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The price of an organ obtained from illegal hunting is unlawful, and its consumption is also unlawful. Looking at it is also unlawful. Its price is like the price of a dog, and the price of a dog is unlawful. Whoever grows his flesh on the unlawful, then the Fire is more deserving of him."
[Machine] "If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intends to marry a woman from his wives, he would come to her from behind the veil and say to her, 'O my daughter, so-and-so has proposed to you, so if you dislike him, say no. For no one should be ashamed to say no. And if you love him, then your silence shall be considered acceptance.'"

[Machine] "And it is said that Abu Abdullah and Umm Uthman bin Affan, Arwa bint Kareez bin Rabi'ah bin Habib bin Abdul Shams, and Umm Arwa, Umm Hakim al-Baida' bint Abdul Muttalib, the aunt of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Umm Umm Hakim Fatimah bint Amr bin Aa'idh bin Imran bin Makhzum, she is the grandmother of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from his father."

[Machine] "I saw Uthman ibn Affan on the minbar (pulpit) on Friday wearing a thick cotton garment that was worth four or five dirhams, along with a polished Kufi scarf. He had long hair and a beautiful face."

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ sent me to Uthman with a message. I found him in a room where there was a curtain. I entered and saw Ruqayyah sitting there. I have never seen two more beautiful people than them. Sometimes, I would look at Ruqayyah, and sometimes I would look at Uthman. When I returned, the Prophet ﷺ asked me, "Did you see them?" I replied, "Yes." He asked, "Did you see a more beautiful couple than them?" I said, "No, O Messenger of Allah. I would look at Ruqayyah sometimes and Uthman sometimes." Abu Al-Qasim (may Allah have mercy on him) said, "And this was before the revelation of the verse of Hijab."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon his daughter while she was washing the head of Uthman. He said, "O my daughter, be good to Abu Abdullah, for he resembles my companions in character."

[Machine] I entered upon Ruqayyah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , the wife of Uthman. In her hand, she had a comb. She said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out from me a short while ago, and I combed his hair. He asked, 'How do you find Aba Abdullah?' I replied, 'In good condition.' He said, 'Honor him, for he is the most similar of my companions in character.'"
[Machine] Uthman ibn Affan was killed in the midst of the days of the East.
[Machine] I heard Zubayr ibn Bakkar say, "Uthman ibn Affan was killed on Friday, in the eighteenth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, in the year thirty-six, after 'Asr prayer. He was eighty-two years old at that time and was fasting."
