The Prophet ﷺ entered the Kaʿba along with Usama bin Zaid, ʿUthman bin Talha and Bilal and remained there for a long time. When they came out, I was the first man to enter the Kaʿba. I asked Bilal "Where did the Prophet ﷺ pray?" Bilal replied, "Between the two front Pillars."

دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَبِلاَلٌ فَأَطَالَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ وَكُنْتُ أَوَّلَ النَّاسِ دَخَلَ عَلَى أَثَرِهِ فَسَأَلْتُ بِلاَلاً أَيْنَ صَلَّى قَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ

"Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Usama bin Zaid, Bilal, and ʿUthman bin abu Talha entered the Kaʿba and then closed its door. When they opened the door I was the first person to enter (the Kaʿba). I met Bilal and asked him, "Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ offer a prayer inside (the Kaʿba)?" Bilal replied in the affirmative and said, "(The Prophet ﷺ offered the prayer) in between the two right pillars."

أَنَّهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلاَلٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ وَلَجَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلاَلاً فَسَأَلْتُهُ هَلْ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Makkah through its upper part and he was riding his she-camel. Usãma bin Zaid was his Companion-rider behind him (on the same she-camel). In his company were Bilãl and 'Uthmãn bin Talha, who was one of the Al-Hajabah (who keep the key of the gate of the Ka'bah). When he made his she-camel kneel down in the Mosque (i.e., Al-Masjid al-Haram), he ordered him (i.e., 'Uthman) to bring the key of the Ka'bah. Then Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Ka'bah along with 'Usãma bin Zaid, Bilãl and 'Uthmãn bin Talha, and he stayed in it for a long period and then came out. The people rushed (to get in) and ʿAbdullãh bin 'Umar was the first to enter and he found Bilãl standing behind the door. Ibn ʿUmar asked Bilãl, "Where did Messenger of Allah ﷺ offer the Salat (prayer)?" Bilãl showed him the place where he ﷺ had offered Salat (prayer). ʿAbdullah later on said, "I forgot to ask Bilãl how many prostrations (i.e., Rak'a) the Prophet offered."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَقْبَلَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ مِنْ أَعْلَى مَكَّةَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ مُرْدِفًا أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ وَمَعَهُ بِلاَلٌ وَمَعَهُ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ مِنَ الْحَجَبَةِ حَتَّى أَنَاخَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ بِمِفْتَاحِ الْبَيْتِ فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلاَلٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَمَكَثَ فِيهِ نَهَارًا طَوِيلاً ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَاسْتَبَقَ النَّاسُ فَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ دَخَلَ فَوَجَدَ بِلاَلاً وَرَاءَ الْبَابِ قَائِمًا فَسَأَلَهُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَشَارَ لَهُ إِلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي صَلَّى فِيهِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى مِنْ سَجْدَةٍ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ came on the Day of Victory, and got down in the courtyard of the Ka'ba and he sent (a message) for 'Uthman b. Talha (Allah be pleased with them). He came with the key and opened the door. Allah's Apostle ﷺ then entered therein and Bilal, Usama b. Zaid, and 'Uthman b. Talha (along with him), and then commanded the door to be closed. They stayed there for a considerable time, and then the door was opened, and Abdullah said: I was the first to meet Messenger of Allah. ﷺ. outside (the Ka'ba), and Bilal was close behind him. I said to Bilal: Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ observe prayer therein? He said: Yes. I said: Where? He said: Between the two pillars in front of his face. He said: I forgot to ask him as to the number of rakahs he prayed.

قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَنَزَلَ بِفِنَاءِ الْكَعْبَةِ وَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ فَجَاءَ بِالْمِفْتَحِ فَفَتَحَ الْبَابَ قَالَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَبِلاَلٌ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَأَمَرَ بِالْبَابِ فَأُغْلِقَ فَلَبِثُوا فِيهِ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ فَتَحَ الْبَابَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَبَادَرْتُ النَّاسَ فَتَلَقَّيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَارِجًا وَبِلاَلٌ عَلَى إِثْرِهِ فَقُلْتُ لِبِلاَلٍ هَلْ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ أَيْنَ قَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ تِلْقَاءَ وَجْهِهِ قَالَ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى

Where did Allah's Apostle ﷺ observe prayer? They said: At this very place. I, however, forgot to ask them about the (number of) rak'ahs that he observed.

أَنَّهُ انْتَهَى إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ وَقَدْ دَخَلَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَبِلاَلٌ وَأُسَامَةُ وَأَجَافَ عَلَيْهِمْ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ الْبَابَ قَالَ فَمَكَثُوا فِيهِ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ فُتِحَ الْبَابُ فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَرَقِيتُ الدَّرَجَةَ فَدَخَلْتُ الْبَيْتَ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالُوا هَا هُنَا قَالَ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُمْ كَمْ صَلَّى

Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ observe prayer in it? He said: Yes, he observed prayer between these two Yemenite pillars (pillars situated towards the side of Yemen).

أَنَّهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلاَلٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا كُنْتُ فِي أَوَّلِ مَنْ وَلَجَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلاَلاً فَسَأَلْتُهُ هَلْ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the House (the Ka'bah), with Usamah bin Zaid, Bilal and 'Uthman bin Talhah, and they locked the door behind them. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ opened it, I was the first one to enter. I met Bilal and asked him: 'Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray inside?' He said: 'Yes, he prayed between the two Yemeni columns.'"

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلاَلٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمَّا فَتَحَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ وَلَجَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلاَلاً فَسَأَلْتُهُ هَلْ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ

he came to the Kabah when the Prophet, Bilal and Usamah bin Zaid had enter it, and Uthman bin Talhah had shut the door. They stayed there for a while, then he opened the door and the Prophet came out. I (Ibn Umar) Climed the steps and entered the House and said: "Where did the Prophet pray?" They said: "Here." And I forgot to ask them how many (Rakahs) the Prophet had prayed inside the House.

أَنَّهُ انْتَهَى إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ وَقَدْ دَخَلَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَبِلاَلٌ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَأَجَافَ عَلَيْهِمْ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ الْبَابَ فَمَكَثُوا فِيهَا مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ فَتَحَ الْبَابَ فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَرَكِبْتُ الدَّرَجَةَ وَدَخَلْتُ الْبَيْتَ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالُوا هَا هُنَا وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُمْ كَمْ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي الْبَيْتِ

"The Messenger of Allah entered the House, accompanied by Al-Fadl bin abbas, Usmah bin Zaid,. Uthman bin Talhah and Bilal. They shut the door, and he stayed there for as long as Allah willed, then he coame out." Ibn Umar said: "The first one whom I met was Bilal, and I said: "Where did the Prophet pray?' He said: "Between the two columns.'"

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ وَمَعَهُ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَبِلاَلٌ فَأَجَافُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَ فَمَكَثَ فِيهِ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ كَانَ أَوَّلُ مَنْ لَقِيتُ بِلاَلاً قُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا بَيْنَ الأُسْطُوَانَتَيْنِ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Ka’bah on the Day of the Conquest (of Makkah), with Bilal and ‘Uthman bin Shaibah, and they locked the door behind them from the inside. When they came out, I asked Bilal: ‘Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?’ He told me that when he entered, he turned to his right and prayed in the direction that he was facing, between the two columns.”

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ الْكَعْبَةَ وَمَعَهُ بِلاَلٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ شَيْبَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوهَا عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ فَلَمَّا خَرَجُوا سَأَلْتُ بِلاَلاً أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَنَّهُ صَلَّى عَلَى وَجْهِهِ حِينَ دَخَلَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ثُمَّ لُمْتُ نَفْسِي أَنْ لاَ أَكُونَ سَأَلْتُهُ كَمْ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

"The Messenger of Allah entered the House, accompanied by Al-Fadl bin abbas, Usmah bin Zaid,. Uthman bin Talhah and Bilal. [AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered on the day of the conquest of Mecca on a camel belonging to Usama bin Zaid until he reached the courtyard of the Kaaba. He called for Usama bin Talha with the key, so he came with it and opened the door. The Prophet ﷺ entered along with Usama, Bilal, and Usama bin Talha. They crowded around them by the door, then they opened it. Abdullah said, "I hastened to people and found Bilal standing by the door, so I asked him, 'Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?' He said, 'Between the two front pillars.' He said, 'And I forgot to ask him how many units he prayed.'"

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ لِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ حَتَّى أَنَاخَ بِفِنَاءِ الْكَعْبَةِ فَدَعَا عُثْمَانَ بْنَ طَلْحَةَ بِالْمِفْتَاحِ فَجَاءَ بِهِ فَفَتَحَ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأُسَامَةُ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَجَافُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ فَتَحُوهُ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ فَبَادَرْتُ النَّاسَ فَوَجَدْتُ بِلَالًا عَلَى الْبَابِ قَائِمًا فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ قَالَ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the house along with Bilal, Usama ibn Zaid, and Uthman ibn Talha. They knocked on the door and stayed for an hour, then he came out. When the door was opened, I was the first one to enter, so I asked Bilal, "Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?" He said, "Between the two front pillars." I forgot to ask him how many raka'at he prayed.

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ هُو وَبِلَالٌ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَجَافُوا الْبَابَ وَمَكَثُوا سَاعَةً ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَلَمَّا فُتِحَ كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ دَخَلَ فَسَأَلْتُ بِلَالًا أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the House (the Ka'bah), with Usamah bin Zaid, Bilal and 'Uthman bin Talhah, and they locked the door behind them. [AI] Narrated Ibn 'Umar: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Makkah on the day of the conquest while he was riding on a camel belonging to Usamah bin Zaid. He headed towards the Ka'bah, then he called for Uthman bin Talhah with the key. When he brought it to him, his mother refused to give it to him. So he said, "Either you give it to me or I will draw out the sword from my sheath." So she gave it to him, and he opened the gate and entered. With him were Bilal, Uthman, and Usamah. They circled the Ka'bah and locked the gate after them. Ibn 'Umar said: "I was a young and strong man, so I hurried ahead of the people and surpassed them. I found Bilal standing by the gate, so I asked him, 'Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?' He said, 'Between the two pillars in front.' I forgot to ask him how many Rak'ahs he prayed."

عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ وَهُوَ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ لِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فَأَنَاخَ يَعْنِي بِالْكَعْبَةِ ثُمَّ دَعَا عُثْمَانَ بْنَ طَلْحَةَ بِالْمِفْتَاحِ فَذَهَبَ يَأْتِيهِ بِهِ فَأَبَتْ أُمُّهُ أَنْ تُعْطِيَهُ فَقَالَ لَتُعْطِيَنَّهُ أَوْ يَخْرُجُ بِالسَّيْفِ مِنْ صُلْبِي فَدَفَعَتْهُ إِلَيْهِ فَفَتَحَ الْبَابَ فَدَخَلَ وَمَعَهُ بِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ وَأُسَامَةُ فَأَجَافُوا الْبَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَلِيًّا قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَكُنْتُ رَجُلًا شَابًّا قَوِيًّا فَبَادَرْتُ النَّاسَ فَبَدَرْتُهُمْ فَوَجَدْتُ بِلَالًا قَائِمًا عَلَى الْبَابِ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى؟

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ entered the house with Bilal, Usama bin Zaid, and Uthman bin Talha. He commanded Bilal to close the door behind them, and they stayed inside for a while. Then he went out, and when he opened the door, I was the first to enter. I asked Bilal, "Where did the Messenger of Allah pray?" He replied, "Between the two pillars in the front," but I forgot to ask him how many units (rak'ahs) he prayed.

أن رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَل الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وبِلَالٌ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا فَأَجَافَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَ فَمَكَثُوا سَاعَةً ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَلَمَّا فَتَحَ كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَْ دَخَلَ فَسَأَلْتُ بلِاَلًا أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ؟ قَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِالْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى؟

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Kaba with Usama ibn Zayd, Bilal ibn Rabah and Uthman ibn Talha al-Hajabi and locked it behind him and stayed there for some time. Abdullah said that he asked Bilal when he came out what the Messenger of Allah had done there and he said, "He positioned himself with one support to his left, two supports to his right, and three behind him (the house had six supports at that time) and then he prayed."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلاَلُ بْنُ رَبَاحٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ الْحَجَبِيُّ فَأَغْلَقَهَا عَلَيْهِ وَمَكَثَ فِيهَا قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَسَأَلْتُ بِلاَلاً حِينَ خَرَجَ مَا صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ جَعَلَ عَمُودًا عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَمُودَيْنِ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ وَثَلاَثَةَ أَعْمِدَةٍ وَرَاءَهُ وَكَانَ الْبَيْتُ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى سِتَّةِ أَعْمِدَةٍ ثُمَّ صَلَّى

[AI] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ enter the Kaaba along with Usama bin Zaid, Bilal, and Uthman bin Talha, and no one else entered it with them." Bilal informed me that he had asked Uthman bin Talha where the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had prayed. He replied, "Between the two Yemeni pillars." It has also been narrated by Shu'bah bin Uthman from his uncle Uthman bin Talha."

«رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ لَمْ يَدْخُلْهَا مَعَهُمْ أَحَدٌ» فَأَخْبَرَنِي بِلَالٌ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ طَلْحَةَ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ» وَقَدْ رَوَى شَيْبَةُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ عَمِّهِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Ka’bah on the Day of the Conquest (of Makkah), with Bilal and ‘Uthman bin Shaibah, and they locked the door behind them from the inside. When they came out, I asked Bilal: ‘Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?’ He told me that when he entered, he turned to his right and prayed in the direction that he was facing, between the two columns.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3063)

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ الْكَعْبَةَ وَمَعَهُ بِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَ مِنْ دَاخِلٍ فَلَمَّا خَرَجُوا سَأَلْتُ بِلَالًا قُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ رَأَيْتُهُ «صَلَّى عَلَى وَجْهِهِ حِينَ دَخَلَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ» ثُمَّ لُمْتُ نَفْسِي أَنْ لَا أَكُونَ سَأَلْتُهُ كَمْ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

Messenger of Allah, ﷺ entered the House, and Usama, Bilal and Uthman b. Talha were with him, and they kept the door closed for a considerable time. Then it was opened and I was the first to enter the House and meet Bilal, and I said: Where did Messenger of Allah ﷺ observe prayer? He said: Between these two front pillars. I, however, forgot to ask him the number of rak'ahs that he observed. (Using translation from Muslim 1329d)

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ وَمَعَهُ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَجَافُوا الْبَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَوِيلًا ثُمَّ فُتِحَ فَكُنْتُ أَوْلَ مَنْ دَخَلَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلَالًا فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ «بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ» فَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى

‘Abd Allaah bin Umar said “The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ entered the Ka’bah and along with him entered Usamah bin Zaid, Uthman bin Talhah Al Hajabi and Bilal. He then closed the door and stayed there. ‘Abd Allah bin ‘Umar said “I asked Bilal when he came out What did the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ do (there)? He replied “He stood with a pillar on his left, two pillars on his right, and three pillars behind him. At that time the House (the Ka’bah) stood on six pillars. He then prayed. أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَبِلَالُ بْنُ رَبَاحٍ مَعَهُ فَأَغْلَقَهَا عَلَيْهِ وَمَكَثَ فِيهَا قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَسَأَلْتُ بِلَالًا حِينَ خَرَجَ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «جَعَلَ عَمُودًا عَنْ يَسَارِهِ وَعَمُودَيْنِ عَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَثَلَاثَةَ أَعْمِدَةٍ وَرَاءَهُ» وَكَانَ الْبَيْتُ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى سِتَّةِ أَعْمِدَةٍ

[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ entered the Kaaba with Bilal, Usama, and Uthman, and the door was pushed shut behind them. I came and sat on the ground and they stayed for a while. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out, I climbed the stairs and entered the house. I asked, 'Where did the Prophet ﷺ pray?' They replied, 'Here.' And I forgot to ask how many units he prayed."

«دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْكَعْبَةَ وَمَعَهُ بِلَالٌ وَأُسَامَةُ وَعُثْمَانُ وَقَدْ أَجَافَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَ» فَجِئْتُ فَقَعَدْتُ بِالْأَرْضِ فَمَكَثُوا فِيهِ مَلِيًّا فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رَقِيتُ الدَّرَجَ فَدَخَلْتُ الْبَيْتَ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ؟ قَالُوا «هَهُنَا» وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَ كَمْ صَلَّى

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Kaaba, alongside Usama bin Zaid, Bilal, and Uthman bin Talha. He stayed in the house for a while and then came out. Abdullah bin Umar followed in his footsteps and was the first to ask Bilal, "Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?" Bilal replied, "Between the two front pillars." I forgot to ask him how many times he prayed.

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Ka'bah along with Usamah bin Zaid, Uthman bin Talhah, and Bilal. They stayed inside the house for some time, then he came out. Abdullah entered following his footsteps, and asked Bilal, 'Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?' He replied, 'Between the two pillars.'"

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ approached while Usamah was driving the camel, and with him were Bilal and Uthman bin Talhah until they reached the house. The Messenger said to Uthman, "Bring us the key." So he brought the key and opened the door for him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ , Usamah, Bilal, and Uthman bin Talhah entered and the door was closed behind them. They stayed in the house for a long time and then the people started to enter. I hurried and found Bilal standing behind the people, so I asked, "Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?" He said, "He prayed between the two front pillars, and he made the people stand behind his back while facing the direction you are facing."

أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُرْدِفٌ أُسَامَةَ عَلَى الْعَضْبَاءِ وَمَعَهُ بِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ حَتَّى أَنَاخَ عِنْدَ الْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ لِعُثْمَانَ «ائْتِنَا بِالْمِفْتَاحِ» فَجَاءَهُ بِالْمِفْتَاحِ فَفَتَحَ لَهُ الْبَابَ فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأُسَامَةُ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ ثُمَّ أَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَيْتَ فَمَكَثُوا فِيهِ طَوِيلًا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَابْتَدَرَ النَّاسُ الدُّخُولَ فَسَبَقْتُهُمْ فَوَجَدْتُ بِلَالًا قَائِمًا وَرَاءَ النَّاسِ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ وَجَعَلَ النَّاسَ مِنْ خَلْفِ ظَهْرِهِ وَاسْتَقْبَلَ بِوَجْهِهِ الَّذِي مُسْتِقْبِلُكَ»

[AI] "I saw the Prophet ﷺ enter the house with a group of people including Usama bin Zaid, Al-Fadl bin Abbas, Uthman bin Talha, and Bilal. They closed the door, so I stood by the door. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out, Bilal was the first to greet me. I asked, 'Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?' He replied, 'Between the two columns.'"

رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ وَمَعَهُ رَهْطُ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَالْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَبِلَالٌ فَأَجَافَ الْبَابَ فَقُمْتُ عَلَى الْبَابِ فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَكُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنِ اسْتَقْبَلَنِي بِلَالٌ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «بَيْنَ الْأُسْطَوَانَتَيْنِ»

[AI] "That the Prophet ﷺ entered the Kaaba, and Usama bin Zaid, Uthman bin Talha, and Bilal were with him, and he stayed there for a while. I was the first person to enter after the footsteps of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so I asked Bilal, 'Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?' He said, 'He performed two Rak'ahs between the two front pillars.'"

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَبِلَالٌ فَمَكَثَ بِهَا فَأَطَالَ» وَكُنْتُ أَوَّلَ النَّاسِ دَخَلَ عَلَى أَثَرَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ لِبِلَالٍ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Kaaba and with him were Usama bin Zaid, Bilal, and Hajib al-Kaaba. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out, I was the first to enter and I found Bilal at the door. I asked him where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray? He replied, 'Between the two front pillars.'"

«دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْكَعْبَةَ وَمَعَهُ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَمَعَهُ حَاجِبُ الْكَعْبَةِ» فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ دَخَلَ فَوَجَدْتُ بِلَالًا عَلَى الْبَابِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the house accompanied by Al-Fadl ibn Abbas, Usamah ibn Zaid, Bilal, and Uthman ibn Talhah. He stayed for a while and then left. I hurriedly went to see the people and found myself among the first to enter. I met Bilal and asked him, "Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?" He replied, "Between the two front pillars." Ibn Umar said, "And I forgot to ask him how many units he prayed."

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَطَالَ الْمُكْثَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَابْتَدَرْتُ النَّاسَ فَكُنْتُ فِي أَوَّلِ مَنْ دَخَلَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلَالًا فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «بَيْنَ الْأُسْطَوَانَتَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَتَيْنِ» قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ «وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى»

Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ observe prayer in it? He said: Yes, he observed prayer between these two Yemenite pillars (pillars situated towards the side of Yemen). (Using translation from Muslim 1329f)

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ» فَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا كُنْتُ فِي أَوَّلِ مَنْ وَلَجَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلَالًا فَقُلْتُ لَهُ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ «صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ»

"Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Usama bin Zaid, Bilal, and ʿUthman bin abu Talha entered the Kaʿba and then closed its door. When they opened the door I was the first person to enter (the Kaʿba). I met Bilal and asked him, "Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ offer a prayer inside (the Kaʿba)?" Bilal replied in the affirmative and said, "(The Prophet ﷺ offered the prayer) in between the two right pillars." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1598)

Where did Allah's Apostle ﷺ observe prayer? They said: At this very place. I, however, forgot to ask them about the (number of) rak'ahs that he observed. (Using translation from Muslim 1329e)

أَنَّهُ انْتَهَى إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ وَقَدْ دَخَلَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَبِلَالٌ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَأَجَافَ عَلَيْهِمْ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ الْبَابَ فَمَكَثُوا فِيهَا مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ فَتَحَ الْبَابَ فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَرَكِبْتُ الدَّرَجَةَ فَدَخَلْتُ الْبَيْتَ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ؟ فَقَالُوا هَاهُنَا وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُمْ كَمْ صَلَّى

"The Messenger of Allah entered the House, accompanied by Al-Fadl bin abbas, Usmah bin Zaid,. Uthman bin Talhah and Bilal. They shut the door, and he stayed there for as long as Allah willed, then he coame out." Ibn Umar said: "The first one whom I met was Bilal, and I said: "Where did the Prophet pray?' He said: "Between the two columns.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2906)

"Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Usama bin Zaid, Bilal, and ʿUthman bin abu Talha entered the Kaʿba and then closed its door. When they opened the door I was the first person to enter (the Kaʿba). [AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Mecca on a camel belonging to Usama bin Zaid and dismounted in the courtyard of the Kaaba. He called for Usama bin Talha to bring the key, and when he arrived, the Prophet ﷺ opened the door and entered along with Usama, Bilal, and Usama bin Talha. The people crowded around them at the door, and then they opened it. Abdullah said, "I hurried to the people and found Bilal by the door. I asked him, 'Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?' He said, 'Between the two front pillars.' I forgot to ask him how many rak'ahs he prayed."

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ لِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ حَتَّى أَنَاخَ بِفِنَاءِ الْكَعْبَةِ فَدَعَا بِعُثْمَانَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ بِالْمِفْتَاحِ فَجَاءَ بِهِ فَفَتَحَ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأُسَامَةُ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَجَافُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ فَتَحُوهُ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ فَبَادَرْتُ النَّاسَ فَوَجَدْتُ بِلَالًا عَلَى الْبَابِ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ قَالَ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى؟
