Ibn ʿUmar said, "The Prophet ﷺ arrived at Mecca and sent for ʿUthman bin Talha. He opened the gate of the Kaʿba and the Prophet, Bilal, Usama bin Zaid and ʿUthman bin Talha entered the Kaʿba and then they closed its door (from inside). They stayed there for an hour, and then came out." Ibn ʿUmar added, "I quickly went to Bilal and asked him (whether the Prophet ﷺ had prayed). Bilal replied, 'He prayed in it.' I asked, 'Where?' He replied, 'Between the two pillars.' "Ibn ʿUmar added, "I forgot to ask how many rakʿat he (the Prophet) had prayed in the Kaʿba."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَدِمَ مَكَّةَ فَدَعَا عُثْمَانَ بْنَ طَلْحَةَ فَفَتَحَ الْبَابَ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَبِلاَلٌ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ ثُمَّ أُغْلِقَ الْبَابُ فَلَبِثَ فِيهِ سَاعَةً ثُمَّ خَرَجُوا قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَبَدَرْتُ فَسَأَلْتُ بِلاَلاً فَقَالَ صَلَّى فِيهِ فَقُلْتُ فِي أَىٍّ قَالَ بَيْنَ الأُسْطُوَانَتَيْنِ قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ فَذَهَبَ عَلَىَّ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى

The Prophet ﷺ entered the Kaʿba along with Usama bin Zaid, ʿUthman bin Talha and Bilal and remained there for a long time. When they came out, I was the first man to enter the Kaʿba. I asked Bilal "Where did the Prophet ﷺ pray?" Bilal replied, "Between the two front Pillars."

دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَبِلاَلٌ فَأَطَالَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ وَكُنْتُ أَوَّلَ النَّاسِ دَخَلَ عَلَى أَثَرِهِ فَسَأَلْتُ بِلاَلاً أَيْنَ صَلَّى قَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ

"Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Usama bin Zaid, Bilal, and ʿUthman bin abu Talha entered the Kaʿba and then closed its door. When they opened the door I was the first person to enter (the Kaʿba). I met Bilal and asked him, "Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ offer a prayer inside (the Kaʿba)?" Bilal replied in the affirmative and said, "(The Prophet ﷺ offered the prayer) in between the two right pillars."

أَنَّهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلاَلٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ وَلَجَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلاَلاً فَسَأَلْتُهُ هَلْ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Mecca through its higher region on the day of the Conquest (of Mecca) riding his she-camel on which Usama was riding behind him. Bilal and ʿUthman bin Talha, one of the servants of the Kaʿba, were also accompanying him till he made his camel kneel in the mosque and ordered the latter to bring the key of the Kaʿba. He opened the door of the Kaʿba and Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered in the company of Usama, Bilal and ʿUthman, and stayed in it for a long period. When he came out, the people rushed to it, and ʿAbdullah bin ʿUmar was the first to enter it and found Bilal standing behind the door. He asked Bilal, "Where did the Prophet ﷺ offer his prayer?" He pointed to the place where he had offered his prayer. ʿAbdullah said, "I forgot to ask him how many rakʿat he had performed."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَقْبَلَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ مِنْ أَعْلَى مَكَّةَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ مُرْدِفًا أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ وَمَعَهُ بِلاَلٌ وَمَعَهُ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ مِنَ الْحَجَبَةِ حَتَّى أَنَاخَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ بِمِفْتَاحِ الْبَيْتِ فَفَتَحَ وَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ أُسَامَةُ وَبِلاَلٌ وَعُثْمَانُ فَمَكَثَ فِيهَا نَهَارًا طَوِيلاً ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَاسْتَبَقَ النَّاسُ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ دَخَلَ فَوَجَدَ بِلاَلاً وَرَاءَ الْبَابِ قَائِمًا فَسَأَلَهُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَشَارَ لَهُ إِلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي صَلَّى فِيهِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى مِنْ سَجْدَةٍ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Makkah through its upper part and he was riding his she-camel. Usãma bin Zaid was his Companion-rider behind him (on the same she-camel). In his company were Bilãl and 'Uthmãn bin Talha, who was one of the Al-Hajabah (who keep the key of the gate of the Ka'bah). When he made his she-camel kneel down in the Mosque (i.e., Al-Masjid al-Haram), he ordered him (i.e., 'Uthman) to bring the key of the Ka'bah. Then Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Ka'bah along with 'Usãma bin Zaid, Bilãl and 'Uthmãn bin Talha, and he stayed in it for a long period and then came out. The people rushed (to get in) and ʿAbdullãh bin 'Umar was the first to enter and he found Bilãl standing behind the door. Ibn ʿUmar asked Bilãl, "Where did Messenger of Allah ﷺ offer the Salat (prayer)?" Bilãl showed him the place where he ﷺ had offered Salat (prayer). ʿAbdullah later on said, "I forgot to ask Bilãl how many prostrations (i.e., Rak'a) the Prophet offered."

The Prophet ﷺ arrived (at Mecca) in the year of the Conquest (of Mecca) while Usama was riding behind him on (his she-camel)'. Al-Qaswa.' Bilal and ʿUthman bin Talha were accompanying him. When he made his she-camel kneel down near the Kaʿba, he said to ʿUthman, "Get us the key (of the Kaʿba). He brought the key to him and opened the gate (of the Kaʿba), for him. The Prophet, Usama, Bilal and ʿUthman (bin Talha) entered the Kaʿba and then closed the gate behind them (from inside). The Prophet ﷺ stayed there for a long period and then came out. The people rushed to get in, but I went in before them and found Bilal standing behind the gate, and I said to him, "Where did the Prophet ﷺ pray?" He said, "He prayed between those two front pillars." The Kaʿba was built on six pillars, arranged in two rows, and he prayed between the two pillars of the front row leaving the gate of the Kaʿba at his back and facing (in prayer) the wall which faces one when one enters the Kaʿba. Between him and that wall (was the distance of about three cubits). But I forgot to ask Bilal about the number of rakʿat the Prophet ﷺ had prayed. There was a red piece of marble at the place where he (i.e. the Prophet) had offered the prayer.

أَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ وَهْوَ مُرْدِفٌ أُسَامَةَ عَلَى الْقَصْوَاءِ وَمَعَهُ بِلاَلٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ حَتَّى أَنَاخَ عِنْدَ الْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِعُثْمَانَ ائْتِنَا بِالْمِفْتَاحِ فَجَاءَهُ بِالْمِفْتَاحِ فَفَتَحَ لَهُ الْبَابَ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأُسَامَةُ وَبِلاَلٌ وَعُثْمَانُ ثُمَّ أَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمِ الْبَابَ فَمَكَثَ نَهَارًا طَوِيلاً ثُمَّ خَرَجَ وَابْتَدَرَ النَّاسُ الدُّخُولَ فَسَبَقْتُهُمْ فَوَجَدْتُ بِلاَلاً قَائِمًا مِنْ وَرَاءِ الْبَابِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ صَلَّى بَيْنَ ذَيْنِكَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ وَكَانَ الْبَيْتُ عَلَى سِتَّةِ أَعْمِدَةٍ سَطْرَيْنِ صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ مِنَ السَّطْرِ الْمُقَدَّمِ وَجَعَلَ باب الْبَيْتِ خَلْفَ ظَهْرِهِ وَاسْتَقْبَلَ بِوَجْهِهِ الَّذِي يَسْتَقْبِلُكَ حِينَ تَلِجُ الْبَيْتَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْجِدَارِ قَالَ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى وَعِنْدَ الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي صَلَّى فِيهِ مَرْمَرَةٌ حَمْرَاءُ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ came on the Day of Victory, and got down in the courtyard of the Ka'ba and he sent (a message) for 'Uthman b. Talha (Allah be pleased with them). He came with the key and opened the door. Allah's Apostle ﷺ then entered therein and Bilal, Usama b. Zaid, and 'Uthman b. Talha (along with him), and then commanded the door to be closed. They stayed there for a considerable time, and then the door was opened, and Abdullah said: I was the first to meet Messenger of Allah. ﷺ. outside (the Ka'ba), and Bilal was close behind him. I said to Bilal: Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ observe prayer therein? He said: Yes. I said: Where? He said: Between the two pillars in front of his face. He said: I forgot to ask him as to the number of rakahs he prayed.

قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ فَنَزَلَ بِفِنَاءِ الْكَعْبَةِ وَأَرْسَلَ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ فَجَاءَ بِالْمِفْتَحِ فَفَتَحَ الْبَابَ قَالَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَبِلاَلٌ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَأَمَرَ بِالْبَابِ فَأُغْلِقَ فَلَبِثُوا فِيهِ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ فَتَحَ الْبَابَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ فَبَادَرْتُ النَّاسَ فَتَلَقَّيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَارِجًا وَبِلاَلٌ عَلَى إِثْرِهِ فَقُلْتُ لِبِلاَلٍ هَلْ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ قُلْتُ أَيْنَ قَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ تِلْقَاءَ وَجْهِهِ قَالَ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى

Messenger of Allah, ﷺ entered the House, and Usama, Bilal and Uthman b. Talha were with him, and they kept the door closed for a considerable time. Then it was opened and I was the first to enter the House and meet Bilal, and I said: Where did Messenger of Allah ﷺ observe prayer? He said: Between these two front pillars. I, however, forgot to ask him the number of rak'ahs that he observed.

Where did Allah's Apostle ﷺ observe prayer? They said: At this very place. I, however, forgot to ask them about the (number of) rak'ahs that he observed.

أَنَّهُ انْتَهَى إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ وَقَدْ دَخَلَهَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَبِلاَلٌ وَأُسَامَةُ وَأَجَافَ عَلَيْهِمْ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ الْبَابَ قَالَ فَمَكَثُوا فِيهِ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ فُتِحَ الْبَابُ فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَرَقِيتُ الدَّرَجَةَ فَدَخَلْتُ الْبَيْتَ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ قَالُوا هَا هُنَا قَالَ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُمْ كَمْ صَلَّى

Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ observe prayer in it? He said: Yes, he observed prayer between these two Yemenite pillars (pillars situated towards the side of Yemen).

أَنَّهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلاَلٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا كُنْتُ فِي أَوَّلِ مَنْ وَلَجَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلاَلاً فَسَأَلْتُهُ هَلْ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَعَمْ صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the House (the Ka'bah), with Usamah bin Zaid, Bilal and 'Uthman bin Talhah, and they locked the door behind them. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ opened it, I was the first one to enter. I met Bilal and asked him: 'Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray inside?' He said: 'Yes, he prayed between the two Yemeni columns.'"

"The Messenger of Allah entered the House, accompanied by Al-Fadl bin abbas, Usmah bin Zaid,. Uthman bin Talhah and Bilal. They shut the door, and he stayed there for as long as Allah willed, then he coame out." Ibn Umar said: "The first one whom I met was Bilal, and I said: "Where did the Prophet pray?' He said: "Between the two columns.'"

"The Messenger of Allah entered the House, accompanied by Al-Fadl bin abbas, Usmah bin Zaid,. Uthman bin Talhah and Bilal. عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ وَهُوَ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ لِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فَأَنَاخَ يَعْنِي بِالْكَعْبَةِ ثُمَّ دَعَا عُثْمَانَ بْنَ طَلْحَةَ بِالْمِفْتَاحِ فَذَهَبَ يَأْتِيهِ بِهِ فَأَبَتْ أُمُّهُ أَنْ تُعْطِيَهُ فَقَالَ لَتُعْطِيَنَّهُ أَوْ يَخْرُجُ بِالسَّيْفِ مِنْ صُلْبِي فَدَفَعَتْهُ إِلَيْهِ فَفَتَحَ الْبَابَ فَدَخَلَ وَمَعَهُ بِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ وَأُسَامَةُ فَأَجَافُوا الْبَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ مَلِيًّا قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَكُنْتُ رَجُلًا شَابًّا قَوِيًّا فَبَادَرْتُ النَّاسَ فَبَدَرْتُهُمْ فَوَجَدْتُ بِلَالًا قَائِمًا عَلَى الْبَابِ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى؟

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ entered the house with Bilal, Usama bin Zaid, and Uthman bin Talha. He commanded Bilal to close the door behind them, and they stayed inside for a while. Then he went out, and when he opened the door, I was the first to enter. I asked Bilal, "Where did the Messenger of Allah pray?" He replied, "Between the two pillars in the front," but I forgot to ask him how many units (rak'ahs) he prayed.

أن رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَل الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وبِلَالٌ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَمَرَ بِلَالًا فَأَجَافَ عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَ فَمَكَثُوا سَاعَةً ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَلَمَّا فَتَحَ كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَْ دَخَلَ فَسَأَلْتُ بلِاَلًا أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ؟ قَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِالْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى؟

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Ka’bah on the Day of the Conquest (of Makkah), with Bilal and ‘Uthman bin Shaibah, and they locked the door behind them from the inside. When they came out, I asked Bilal: ‘Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?’ He told me that when he entered, he turned to his right and prayed in the direction that he was facing, between the two columns.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3063)

Messenger of Allah, ﷺ entered the House, and Usama, Bilal and Uthman b. Talha were with him, and they kept the door closed for a considerable time. Then it was opened and I was the first to enter the House and meet Bilal, and I said: Where did Messenger of Allah ﷺ observe prayer? He said: Between these two front pillars. I, however, forgot to ask him the number of rak'ahs that he observed. (Using translation from Muslim 1329d)

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ وَمَعَهُ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَجَافُوا الْبَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَوِيلًا ثُمَّ فُتِحَ فَكُنْتُ أَوْلَ مَنْ دَخَلَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلَالًا فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ فَقَالَ «بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ» فَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى

[AI] Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, narrated: "The Prophet ﷺ rode on a camel on the day of the conquest, which belonged to Usama bin Zaid. Usama rode behind the Prophet ﷺ , and with them were Bilal and Uthman bin Talha. They entered a house and stayed there for a long time, closing the door behind them. When the Prophet ﷺ came out, Abdullah bin Umar and another person were waiting outside. Abdullah bin Umar asked Bilal, 'Where did the Prophet ﷺ pray?' Bilal replied, 'I will show you where he prayed.' However, Abdullah bin Umar did not ask him how many times he prayed."

عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ؓ «أَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ لِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَأُسَامَةُ رِدْفُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ بِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَبِلَالٌ فَمَكَثُوا فِي الْبَيْتِ طَوِيلًا وَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَ فَخَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَابْتَدَرُوا الْبَابَ» فَسَبَقَهُمْ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَآخَرُ مَعَهُ فَسَأَلَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بِلَالًا فَقَالَ أَيْنَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «فَأَرَاهُ حَيْثُ صَلَّى» وَلَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ كَمْ صَلَّى

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived and entered the courtyard of the Kaaba. He then sent for Uthman ibn Talhah, who brought the key, and then the Prophet ﷺ , Bilal, Osama ibn Zaid, and Uthman ibn Talhah entered. When they came out, the people gathered around them, so I asked Bilal, 'Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray inside the house?' He replied, 'Yes, between the two pillars facing its direction.'"

«قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَزَلَ بِفِنَاءِ الْكَعْبَةِ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَ إِلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ فَجَاءَ بِالْمِفْتَاحِ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَبِلَالٌ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ» فَلَمَّا خَرَجُوا ابْتَدَرَهُمُ النَّاسُ فَقُلْتُ لِبِلَالٍ أَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي الْبَيْتِ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ «بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ تِلْقَاءَ وَجْهِهِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ rode on the day of the conquest on a camel belonging to Usama ibn Zaid, and Usama rode alongside the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . With them were Bilal and Uthman ibn Talha. When they reached the Kaaba, Uthman ibn Talha was sent for and he brought the key to the Kaaba and opened it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ , along with Usama, Uthman ibn Talha, and Bilal, entered the Kaaba and stayed inside for a long time. The door of the Kaaba was then closed upon them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then came out and the people crowded towards the Kaaba. Abdullah ibn Umar and others were ahead of them. Abdullah ibn Umar asked Bilal, "Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?" Bilal replied, "I saw him pray in that place," without specifying how many prayers he performed.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَقْبَلَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ لِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَأُسَامَةُ رَدِيفُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ بِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ الْبَيْتَ أَرْسَلَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ طَلْحَةَ فَجَاءَهُ بِمِفْتَاحِ الْبَيْتِ فَفَتَحَهُ فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأُسَامَةُ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَبِلَالٌ فَمَكَثُوا فِي الْبَيْتِ طَوِيلًا وَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَيْتَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَابْتَدَرَ النَّاسُ الْبَيْتَ فَسَبَقَهُمْ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ وَآخَرُ مَعَهُ فَسَأَلَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بِلَالًا أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ «فَأَرَاهُ بِلَالٌ حَيْثُ صَلَّى» فَلَمْ يَسْأَلْ كَمْ صَلَّى

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Kaaba, alongside Usama bin Zaid, Bilal, and Uthman bin Talha. He stayed in the house for a while and then came out. Abdullah bin Umar followed in his footsteps and was the first to ask Bilal, "Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?" Bilal replied, "Between the two front pillars." I forgot to ask him how many times he prayed.

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Ka'bah along with Usamah bin Zaid, Uthman bin Talhah, and Bilal. They stayed inside the house for some time, then he came out. [AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ approached while Usamah was driving the camel, and with him were Bilal and Uthman bin Talhah until they reached the house. The Messenger said to Uthman, "Bring us the key." So he brought the key and opened the door for him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ , Usamah, Bilal, and Uthman bin Talhah entered and the door was closed behind them. They stayed in the house for a long time and then the people started to enter. I hurried and found Bilal standing behind the people, so I asked, "Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?" He said, "He prayed between the two front pillars, and he made the people stand behind his back while facing the direction you are facing."

أَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ مُرْدِفٌ أُسَامَةَ عَلَى الْعَضْبَاءِ وَمَعَهُ بِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ حَتَّى أَنَاخَ عِنْدَ الْبَيْتِ فَقَالَ لِعُثْمَانَ «ائْتِنَا بِالْمِفْتَاحِ» فَجَاءَهُ بِالْمِفْتَاحِ فَفَتَحَ لَهُ الْبَابَ فَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأُسَامَةُ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ ثُمَّ أَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَيْتَ فَمَكَثُوا فِيهِ طَوِيلًا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَابْتَدَرَ النَّاسُ الدُّخُولَ فَسَبَقْتُهُمْ فَوَجَدْتُ بِلَالًا قَائِمًا وَرَاءَ النَّاسِ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ وَجَعَلَ النَّاسَ مِنْ خَلْفِ ظَهْرِهِ وَاسْتَقْبَلَ بِوَجْهِهِ الَّذِي مُسْتِقْبِلُكَ»

[AI] "I saw the Prophet ﷺ enter the house with a group of people including Usama bin Zaid, Al-Fadl bin Abbas, Uthman bin Talha, and Bilal. They closed the door, so I stood by the door. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out, Bilal was the first to greet me. I asked, 'Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?' He replied, 'Between the two columns.'"

رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ وَمَعَهُ رَهْطُ أُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَالْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَبِلَالٌ فَأَجَافَ الْبَابَ فَقُمْتُ عَلَى الْبَابِ فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَكُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنِ اسْتَقْبَلَنِي بِلَالٌ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «بَيْنَ الْأُسْطَوَانَتَيْنِ»

[AI] "That the Prophet ﷺ entered the Kaaba, and Usama bin Zaid, Uthman bin Talha, and Bilal were with him, and he stayed there for a while. I was the first person to enter after the footsteps of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so I asked Bilal, 'Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?' He said, 'He performed two Rak'ahs between the two front pillars.'"

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْكَعْبَةَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَبِلَالٌ فَمَكَثَ بِهَا فَأَطَالَ» وَكُنْتُ أَوَّلَ النَّاسِ دَخَلَ عَلَى أَثَرَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ لِبِلَالٍ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «رَكْعَتَيْنِ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the Kaaba and with him were Usama bin Zaid, Bilal, and Hajib al-Kaaba. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out, I was the first to enter and I found Bilal at the door. I asked him where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray? He replied, 'Between the two front pillars.'"

«دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْكَعْبَةَ وَمَعَهُ أُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَمَعَهُ حَاجِبُ الْكَعْبَةِ» فَلَمَّا خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ دَخَلَ فَوَجَدْتُ بِلَالًا عَلَى الْبَابِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the house accompanied by Al-Fadl ibn Abbas, Usamah ibn Zaid, Bilal, and Uthman ibn Talhah. He stayed for a while and then left. I hurriedly went to see the people and found myself among the first to enter. I met Bilal and asked him, "Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?" He replied, "Between the two front pillars." Ibn Umar said, "And I forgot to ask him how many units he prayed."

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ وَدَخَلَ مَعَهُ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَطَالَ الْمُكْثَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَابْتَدَرْتُ النَّاسَ فَكُنْتُ فِي أَوَّلِ مَنْ دَخَلَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلَالًا فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «بَيْنَ الْأُسْطَوَانَتَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَتَيْنِ» قَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ «وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى»

Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ observe prayer in it? He said: Yes, he observed prayer between these two Yemenite pillars (pillars situated towards the side of Yemen). (Using translation from Muslim 1329f)

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ» فَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا كُنْتُ فِي أَوَّلِ مَنْ وَلَجَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلَالًا فَقُلْتُ لَهُ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ «صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ»

"Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Usama bin Zaid, Bilal, and ʿUthman bin abu Talha entered the Kaʿba and then closed its door. When they opened the door I was the first person to enter (the Kaʿba). I met Bilal and asked him, "Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ offer a prayer inside (the Kaʿba)?" Bilal replied in the affirmative and said, "(The Prophet ﷺ offered the prayer) in between the two right pillars." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1598)

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ وَلَجَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلَالًا فَسَأَلْتُهُ هَلْ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَّيْنِ»

The Prophet ﷺ arrived (at Mecca) in the year of the Conquest (of Mecca) while Usama was riding behind him on (his she-camel)'. Al-Qaswa.' Bilal and ʿUthman bin Talha were accompanying him. When he made his she-camel kneel down near the Kaʿba, he said to ʿUthman, "Get us the key (of the Kaʿba). He brought the key to him and opened the gate (of the Kaʿba), for him. The Prophet, Usama, Bilal and ʿUthman (bin Talha) entered the Kaʿba and then closed the gate behind them (from inside). The Prophet ﷺ stayed there for a long period and then came out. The people rushed to get in, but I went in before them and found Bilal standing behind the gate, and I said to him, "Where did the Prophet ﷺ pray?" He said, "He prayed between those two front pillars." The Kaʿba was built on six pillars, arranged in two rows, and he prayed between the two pillars of the front row leaving the gate of the Kaʿba at his back and facing (in prayer) the wall which faces one when one enters the Kaʿba. Between him and that wall (was the distance of about three cubits). But I forgot to ask Bilal about the number of rakʿat the Prophet ﷺ had prayed. There was a red piece of marble at the place where he (i.e. the Prophet) had offered the prayer. (Using translation from Bukhārī 4400)

أَقْبَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ وَهُوَ مُرْدِفٌ أُسَامَةَ عَلَى الْقَصْوَاءِ وَمَعَهُ بِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ الْحَجَبِيُّ حَتَّى أَنَاخَ عِنْدَ الْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِعُثْمَانَ ايتِنَا بِمِفْتَاحٍ فَجَاءَهُ بِالْمِفْتَاحِ فَفَتَحَ لَهُ الْبَابَ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأُسَامَةُ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ ثُمَّ أَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَ فَمَكَثَ نَهَارًا طَوِيلًا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ وَابْتَدَرَ النَّاسُ الدُّخُولَ فَسَبَقْتُهُمْ فَوَجَدْتُ بِلَالًا قَائِمًا وَرَاءَ الْبَابِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ؟ قَالَ صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ وَكَانَ الْبَيْتُ عَلَى سِتَّةِ أَعْمِدَةٍ شَطْرَيْنِ صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ مِنَ الشَّطْرِ الْمُقَدَّمِ وَجَعَلَ بَابَ الْبَيْتِ خَلْفَ ظَهْرِهِ فَاسْتَقْبَلَ بِوَجْهِهِ الَّذِي يَسْتَقْبِلُكَ حِينَ تَلِجُ وَالْبَيْتُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْجِدَارِ قَالَ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى وَعِنْدَ الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي صَلَّى فِيهِ مَرْمَرَةٌ حَمْرَاءُ وَرَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ سُرَيْجٍ

"Messenger of Allah ﷺ, Usama bin Zaid, Bilal, and ʿUthman bin abu Talha entered the Kaʿba and then closed its door. When they opened the door I was the first person to enter (the Kaʿba). I met Bilal and asked him, "Did Messenger of Allah ﷺ offer a prayer inside (the Kaʿba)?" Bilal replied in the affirmative and said, "(The Prophet ﷺ offered the prayer) in between the two right pillars." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1598)

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْبَيْتَ هُوَ وَأُسَامَةُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ فَلَمَّا فَتَحُوا كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ وَلَجَ فَلَقِيتُ بِلَالًا فَسَأَلْتُهُ هَلْ صَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ صَلَّى بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْيَمَانِيَيْنِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Mecca on a camel belonging to Usama bin Zaid and dismounted in the courtyard of the Kaaba. He called for Usama bin Talha to bring the key, and when he arrived, the Prophet ﷺ opened the door and entered along with Usama, Bilal, and Usama bin Talha. The people crowded around them at the door, and then they opened it. Abdullah said, "I hurried to the people and found Bilal by the door. I asked him, 'Where did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray?' He said, 'Between the two front pillars.' I forgot to ask him how many rak'ahs he prayed."

دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ عَلَى نَاقَةٍ لِأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ حَتَّى أَنَاخَ بِفِنَاءِ الْكَعْبَةِ فَدَعَا بِعُثْمَانَ بْنِ طَلْحَةَ بِالْمِفْتَاحِ فَجَاءَ بِهِ فَفَتَحَ فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ وَأُسَامَةُ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ فَأَجَافُوا عَلَيْهِمُ الْبَابَ مَلِيًّا ثُمَّ فَتَحُوهُ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ فَبَادَرْتُ النَّاسَ فَوَجَدْتُ بِلَالًا عَلَى الْبَابِ فَقُلْتُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ بَيْنَ الْعَمُودَيْنِ الْمُقَدَّمَيْنِ قَالَ وَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى؟

Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Mecca through its higher region on the day of the Conquest (of Mecca) riding his she-camel on which Usama was riding behind him. Bilal and ʿUthman bin Talha, one of the servants of the Kaʿba, were also accompanying him till he made his camel kneel in the mosque and ordered the latter to bring the key of the Kaʿba. He opened the door of the Kaʿba and Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered in the company of Usama, Bilal and ʿUthman, and stayed in it for a long period. When he came out, the people rushed to it, and ʿAbdullah bin ʿUmar was the first to enter it and found Bilal standing behind the door. He asked Bilal, "Where did the Prophet ﷺ offer his prayer?" He pointed to the place where he had offered his prayer. ʿAbdullah said, "I forgot to ask him how many rakʿat he had performed." (Using translation from Bukhārī 2988)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَقْبَلَ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ مِنْ أَعْلَى مَكَّةَ عَلَى رَاحِلَتِهِ فَرَدَفَ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ وَمَعَهُ بِلَالٌ وَمَعَهُ عُثْمَانُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ مِنَ الْحَجَبَةِ حَتَّى أَنَاخَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَأْتِيَ بِمِفْتَاحِ الْبَيْتِ فَفَتَحَ وَدَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَمَعَهُ أُسَامَةُ وَبِلَالٌ وَعُثْمَانُ فَمَكَثَ فِيهَا نَهَارًا طَوِيلًا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَاسْتَبَقَ النَّاسُ فَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ أَوَّلَ مَنْ دَخَلَ فَوَجَدَ بِلَالًا وَرَاءَ الْبَابِ قَائِمًا فَسَأَلَهُ أَيْنَ صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ فَأَشَارَ لَهُ إِلَى الْمَكَانِ الَّذِي صَلَّى فِيهِ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ فَنَسِيتُ أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ كَمْ صَلَّى مِنْ سَجْدَةٍ؟
