١٣۔ كِتَابُ الْحَجِّ ص ٥
ذِكْرُ الْإِبَاحَةِ لِلْعَبَّاسِ، وَأَهْلِهِ أَنْ يُبَيِّتُوا بِمَكَّةَ لَيَالِي مِنًى مِنْ أَجْلِ سِقَايَتِهِمْ
Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported that al-'A'bbas b. Abd al-Muttalib (Allah be pleased with him) sought permission from Messenger of Allah ﷺ to spend in Mecca the nights (which be was required to spend) at Mina on account of his office of supplier of water, and he (the Holy Prophet) granted him permission. «أَنَّ الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ اسْتَأْذَنَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَبِيتَ بِمَكَّةَ لَيَالِيَ مِنَى مِنْ أَجْلِ سِقَايَتِهِ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ هَذَا الْأَمْرِ لِلْعَبَّاسِ، إِنَّمَا هُوَ أَمْرُ رُخْصَةٍ، وَنَدْبٍ دُونَ أَنْ يَكُونَ حَتْمًا وَإِيجَابًا
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ allowed Abbas to stay in Makkah during the days of Mina because of his role as a water provider."
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَخَّصَ لِلْعَبَّاسِ أَنْ يَبِيتَ بِمَكَّةَ أَيَّامَ مِنًى مِنْ أَجْلِ سِقَايَتِهِ»
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَانٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِإِبَاحَةِ مَا تَقَدَّمَ ذِكْرِنَا لَهَا
Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported that al-'A'bbas b. «أَنَّ الْعَبَّاسَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ اسْتَأْذَنَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنْ يَبِيتَ بِمَكَّةَ لَيَالِيَ مِنَى مِنْ أَجْلِ سِقَايَتِهِ فَأَذِنَ لَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِ السِّقَايَةِ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنْ وَصْفِ أَيَّامِ مِنًى، وَإِسْقَاطِ الْحَرَجِ عَمَّنْ تَعْجَلَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ مِنْهَا
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Hajj is Arafat, so whoever reaches Arafat on the night of the Day of Assembly before dawn breaks has indeed reached the days of Mina for three days. And whoever hastens in two days, there is no sin upon him, and whoever delays, there is no sin upon him." Ibn 'Uyaynah said, "So I said to Sufyan Ath-Thawri, 'Do you not have a more honored and better hadith than this in Al-Kufah?'"
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «الْحَجُّ عَرَفَاتٌ فَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ عَرَفَةَ لَيْلَةَ جَمْعٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَطْلُعَ الْفَجْرُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ أَيَّامُ مِنًى ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ فَمَنْ تَعَجَّلَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ وَمَنْ تَأَخَّرَ فَلَا إِثْمَ عَلَيْهِ» قَالَ ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ فَقُلْتُ لِسُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ لَيْسَ عِنْدَكُمْ بِالْكُوفَةِ حَدِيثٌ أَشْرَفُ وَلَا أَحْسَنُ مِنْ هَذَا
ذِكْرُ وَصْفِ صَلَاةِ الْحَاجِّ بِمِنًى أَيَّامَ مَقَامِهِ بِهَا
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ used to pray two rak'ahs in Mina, and Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman used to do the same. Then Uthman used to pray another four rak'ahs after that. Ibn Umar used to pray with the Imam in his prayers, but when he prayed alone, he would pray four rak'ahs."
«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُصَلِّي بِمِنًى رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ ثُمَّ صَلَّى عُثْمَانُ بَعْدَ أَرْبَعًا وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يُصَلِّي مَعَ الْإِمَامِ بِصَلَاتِهِ فَإِذَا صَلَّى وَحْدَهُ صَلَّى أَرْبَعًا»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الدَّالِّ عَلَى إِبَاحَةِ التِّجَارَةِ لِلْحَاجِّ وَالْمُعْتَمِرِ
[Machine] Okaz and Dhul-Majaz were markets that they had during Jahiliya [pre-Islamic era]. When Allah brought Islam, it seemed as if they considered it a sin to engage in trade during Hajj [pilgrimage]. So they asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and the verse "There is no sin upon you if you seek the favor of your Lord" was revealed concerning the Hajj seasons.
عُكَاظُ وَذُو الْمَجَازِ أَسْوَاقٌ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَلَمَّا جَاءَ اللَّهُ بِالْإِسْلَامِ كَأَنَّهُمْ تَأَثَّمُوا أَنْ يَتَّجِرُوا فِي الْحَجِّ فَسَأَلُوا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَنَزَلَتْ {لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ تَبْتَغُوا فَضْلًا مِنْ رَبِّكُمْ} فِي مَوَاسِمِ الْحَجِّ
13.16 [Machine] Chapter: Departure from Mina for the Tawaf Al-Sadr
١٣۔١٦ بَابٌ، الْإِفَاضَةُ مِنْ مِنًى لِطَوَافِ الصَّدْرِ
ذِكْرُ مَا يُسْتَحَبُّ لِلْحَاجِّ نُزُولُ الْمُحَصَّبِ لَيْلَةَ النَّفْرِ
[Machine] Indeed, the Prophetﷺ Abu Bakr, Umar, and Uthman used to descend to Al-Muhassab.
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَأَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ وَعُثْمَانَ كَانُوا يَنْزِلُونَ الْمُحَصَّبَ «
ذِكْرُ مَا يُسْتَحَبُّ لِلْحَاجِّ إِذَا أَرَادَ الْقُفُولَ أَنْ يَتَحَصَّبَ لَيْلَتَئِذٍ لِيَكُونَ أَسْهَلَ لِظُعُنِهِ
"The Messenger of Allah only camped at Al-Abtah because it was easier for his departure." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 923)
عَائِشَةُ «إِنَّمَا نَزَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ أَسْمَحَ لِخُرُوجِهِ»

١٣۔١٧ فَصْلٌ
The people used to go out (from Mecca after Hajj) by all sides. The Prophet ﷺ said: No one should leave (Mecca) until he performs the last circumambulation of the House (the Ka'bah). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2002)
كَانَ النَّاسُ يَنْفِرُونَ مِنْ كُلِّ وَجْهٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يَنْفِرَنَّ أَحَدٌ حَتَّى يَكُونَ آخِرَ عَهْدِهِ الطَّوَافُ بِالْبَيْتِ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ الْحَائِضَ إِنَّمَا رَخَّصَ لَهَا أَنْ تَنْفِرَ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَكُونَ عَهْدُهَا بِالْبَيْتِ إِذَا كَانَتْ طَافَتْ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ
[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I do not see Safiyyah except that she confines us." He said, "What is her concern?" I said, "She is menstruating." He said, "Did she perform the Tawaf (circumambulation) before that?" I said, "Yes, but she is menstruating." He said, "Then there is no harm on her, so let her go."
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَرَى صَفِيَّةَ إِلَّا حَابِسَتَنَا قَالَ «مَا شَأْنُهَا؟ » قُلْتُ حَاضَتْ قَالَ «أَمَا كَانَتْ طَافَتْ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ؟ » قُلْتُ بَلَى وَلَكِنَّهَا حَاضَتْ قَالَ «فَلَا حَبْسَ عَلَيْهَا فَلْتَنْفِرْ»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الدَّالِّ عَلَى أَنَّ حُكْمَ النُّفَسَاءِ حُكْمُ الْحَائِضِ فِي هَذَا الْفِعْلِ، إِذِ اسْمِ النِّفَاسِ يَقَعُ عَلَى الْحَيْضِ، وَالْعِلَّةُ فِيهِمَا وَاحِدَةٌ
"While I was lying down with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ under a blanket, my period came, so I slipped away and put on the clothes I used to wear when I was menstruating. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Are you menstruating?' I said: 'Yes.' Then he called me and I lied down with him under the blanket." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 283)
بَيْنَمَا أَنَا مَضْجِعَةٌ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الْخَمِيلَةِ إِذْ حِضْتُ فَانْسَلَلْتُ فَأَخَذْتُ ثِيَابَ حِيضَتِي فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَنَفِسْتِ» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَدَعَانِي فَأَضْطَجَعْتُ مَعَهُ فِي الْخَمِيلَةِ
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَنِ الْإِبَاحَةِ لِلْمَرْأَةِ الْحَائِضِ أَنْ تَنْفِرَ إِذَا كَانَتْ طَافَتْ طَوَافَ الزِّيَارَةِ قَبْلَ رُؤْيَتِهَا الدَّمَ
Safiya bint Huyay, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ got her menses, and Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed of that. He said, "Would she delay us?" The people said, "She has already performed Tawaf-al-Ifada." He said, "Therefore she will not (delay us)." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1757)
أَنَّ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتَ حُيَيٍّ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ حَاضَتْ فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «أَحَابِسَتُنَا هِيَ؟ » فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّهَا قَدْ أَفَاضَتْ قَالَ «فَلَا إِذًا»
ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ لِلْمَرْأَةِ إِذَا حَاضَتْ بَعْدَ الْإِفَاضَةِ أَنْ تَنْفِرَ
Safiyyah bint Huyayy entered the period of menses after performing Tawaf Ifada. I made a mention of her menses to Messenger of Allah ﷺ, whereupon Allah's. Messenger ﷺ remarked: Well, then she will detain us. I said: Messenger of Allah. she has performed Tawif Ifada and circumambulated the House, and it was after this that she entered the period of menses. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: (If it is so), then proceed forth. (Using translation from Muslim 1211aa)
حَاضَتْ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ حُيَيٍّ بَعْدَمَا طَافَتْ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَذَكَرْتُ حَيْضَتَهَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَحَابِسَتُنَا هِيَ» قَالَتْ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا قَدْ كَانَتْ أَفَاضَتْ وَطَافَتْ بِالْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ حَاضَتْ بَعْدَ الْإِفَاضَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَلْتَنْفِرْ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْحَائِضَ إِنَّمَا رَخَّصَ لَهَا أَنْ تَنْفِرَ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ آخِرَ عَهْدِهَا بِالْبَيْتِ، إِذَا كَانَتْ طَافَتْ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ طَوَافَ الزِّيَارَةِ
[Machine] She said, "O Messenger of Allah, I do not see Safiyyah except that she keeps us confined." He said, "What is the matter with her?" She said, "She is menstruating." He said, "Has she not completed her period?" I said, "Yes, but she is still menstruating." He said, "Then there is no restriction on her, so let her go and perform the pilgrimage."
أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَرَى صَفِيَّةَ إِلَّا حَابِسَتَنَا قَالَ «وَمَا شَأْنُهَا؟ » قَالَتْ حَاضَتْ قَالَ «أَمَا كَانَتْ أَفَاضَتْ؟ » قُلْتُ بَلَى وَلَكِنَّهَا حَاضَتْ قَالَ «فَلَا حَبْسَ عَلَيْهَا فَلْتَنْفِرْ»
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَانٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِصِحَّةِ مَا ذَكَرْنَاهُ

حَاضَتْ صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ حُيَيٍّ بَعْدَمَا أَفَاضَتْ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَذَكَرْتُ حَيْضَتَهَا لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَحَابِسَتُنَا هِيَ؟ » فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا قَدْ أَفَاضَتْ وَطَافَتْ بِالْبَيْتِ ثُمَّ حَاضَتْ بَعْدَ الْإِفَاضَةِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «فَلْتَنْفِرْ»
ذِكْرُ الْإِخْبَارِ عَمَّا يُقِيمُ الْمُهَاجِرُ بَعْدَ الْإِفَاضَةِ
Umar bin ‘Abd Al ‘Aziz asked Al Sa’ib bin Yazid “Did you hear anything relating to staying at Makkah(after the completion of the rites of Hajj)? He said “Ibn Al Hadrami told me that he heard the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ say “The Muhajirun(Immigrants) are allowed to stay at the Ka’bah (Makkah) for three days after the obligatory circumambulation (Tawaf Al Ziyarah or Sadr)”. أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لِلْمُهَاجِرِ ثَلَاثًا بَعْدَ الصَّدَرِ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ قَوْلَهُ ﷺ «لِلْمُهَاجِرِ ثَلَاثًا بَعْدَ الصَّدَرِ» أَرَادَ بِهِ الْمُكْثَ بِمَكَّةَ
[Machine] About the Prophet ﷺ said, "The migrant should stay for three days after completing his rituals."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «يَمْكُثُ الْمُهَاجِرُ ثَلَاثًا بَعْدَ قَضَاءِ نُسُكِهِ»
ذِكْرُ الثَّنِيَّةِ الَّتِي يُسْتَحَبُّ لِلْحَاجِّ أَنْ يَكُونَ خُرُوجُهُ مِنْ مَكَّةَ مِنْهَا
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ spent the night at Dhul Tuwa until he prayed the dawn prayer. Then he entered Mecca, and Ibn Umar used to do the same. And indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered Mecca from the direction of the higher Thaniyyah at Bat-ha'a and left from the direction of the lower Thaniyyah."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَاتَ بِذِي طُوًى حَتَّى صَلَّى الصُّبْحَ ثُمَّ دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَفْعَلُهُ وَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ مِنْ كَدَاءِ الثَّنِيَّةِ الْعُلْيَا الَّتِي بِالْبَطْحَاءِ وَخَرَجَ مِنْ ثَنِيَّةِ السُّفْلَى «
ذِكْرُ الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي يُسْتَحَبُّ أَنْ يَكُونَ رُجُوعُ الْمَرْءِ مِنْ مَكَّةَ إِلَى بَلَدِهِ عَلَيْهِ
[Machine] "When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would leave Makkah, he would depart from the road of the tree, and when he would return, he would come back from the road of Al-Mu'arras."
«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا خَرَجَ مِنْ مَكَّةَ خَرَجَ مِنْ طَرِيقِ الشَّجَرَةِ وَإِذَا رَجَعَ رَجَعَ مِنْ طَرِيقِ الْمُعَرَّسِ»
13.17.1 Subsection
١٣۔١٧۔١ ذِكْرُ الرُّخْصَةِ لِبَعْضِ النِّسَاءِ فِي اسْتِعْمَالِ هَذَا الشَّيْءِ الْمَزْجُورِ عَنْهُ
[Machine] "And I heard Ibn Umar saying, 'Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gave them permission.'"
وَسَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَخَّصَ لَهُنَّ»
"Whoever performs Hajj to the House, then let the last of their acts be at the House, except for menstruating women. The Messenger of Allah gave them permission (to leave)." (Sahih Mawquf) (Using translation from Tirmidhī 944)
«مَنْ حَجِّ الْبَيْتَ فَلْيَكُنْ آخِرَ عَهْدِهِ بِالْبَيْتِ إِلَّا الْحُيَّضَ رَخَّصَ لَهُنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ»
13.18 [Machine] The Quran
١٣۔١٨ بَابٌ الْقِرَانُ
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ قَدِ احْتَجَّ بِهِ بَعْضُ أَئِمَّتِنَا فِي اسْتِحْبَابِ التَّمَتُّعِ بِالْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى الْحَجِّ بِهِ
[Machine] "He (meaning someone) had performed Hajj and Umrah, so he mentioned that to Umar, who said, 'You have been guided to the Sunnah of your Prophet ﷺ.'"
أَنَّهُ أَهَلَّ بِحَجٍّ وَعُمْرَةٍ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لِعُمَرَ فَقَالَ «هُدِيتَ لِسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ ﷺ»
ذِكْرُ وَصْفِ إِهْلَالِ الصُّبَيِّ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ بِمَا أَهَلَّ بِهِ
As-Subayy ibn Ma'bad said: I raised my voice in talbiyah for both of them (i.e. umrah and hajj). Thereupon Umar said: You were guided to the practice (sunnah) of your Prophet ﷺ. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1798)
«هُدِيتَ لِسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ ﷺ مَرَّتَيْنِ»
ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ لِمَنْ سَاقَ الْهَدْيَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَ إِهْلَالَهُ بِالْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ مَعًا
"We set out with the Messenger of Allah for the Farewell Pligrimage and we entered Ihram for 'Umrah, then the Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever has a Hadi with him, let him enter Ihram for both Hajj and 'Umrah, then do not exit Ihram until he exits Ihram for them both.' I came to Makkah and I had my menses, so I did not circumambulate the House or (Perform Sa'i) between As-Safa and Al-Marwah. I complained about that to the Messenger of Allah and he said: 'Undo your hair, and comb it, and enter Ihram for Hajj, and leave 'Umrah.' When I had completed Hajj, the Messenger of Allah sent me with 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakr to At-Tan'im, and I performed 'Umrah. He said: 'This is the place of your 'Umrah.' Then those who had entered Ihram for 'Umar circumambulated the House and (performed Sa'i) between As-Safa and Al-Marwah. Then they exited Ihram, then they performed Tawaf again, after they came back from Mina for their Hajj. As for those who combined Hajj and 'Umrah, they only performed one Tawaf." أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَأَهْلَلْنَا بِعُمْرَةٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيُهْلِلْ بِالْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ ثُمَّ لَا يَحِلُّ حَتَّى يَحِلَّ مِنْهُمَا جَمِيعًا» قَالَتْ فَطَافَ الَّذِينَ أَهَلُّوا بِالْعُمْرَةِ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ثُمَّ أَحَلُّوا ثُمَّ طَافُوا طَوَافًا آخَرَ بَعْدَ أَنْ رَجَعُوا مِنْ مِنًى لِحَجِّهِمْ وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ أَهَلُّوا بِالْحَجِّ وَجَمَعُوا بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ فَإِنَّمَا طَافُوا طَوَافًا وَاحِدًا قَالَتْ فَقَدِمْتُ مَكَّةَ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ لَمْ أَطُفْ بِالْبَيْتِ وَلَا بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «انْقُضِي رَأْسَكِ وَامْتَشِطِي وَأَهِلِّي بِالْحَجِّ وَدَعِي الْعُمْرَةَ» قَالَتْ فَفَعَلْتُ فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا الْحَجَّ أَرْسَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَعَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ إِلَى التَّنْعِيمِ فَاعْتَمَرْتُ فَقَالَ «هَذِهِ مَكَانُ عُمْرَتِكِ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْمُتَمَتِّعَ بِالْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى الْحَجِّ يُجْزِئُهُ أَنْ يَطُوفَ طَوَافًا وَاحِدًا، وَيَسْعَى سَعْيًا وَاحِدًا لِعُمْرَتِهِ وَحَجِّهِ
[Machine] "He combined between Hajj and Umrah and performed Tawaf around the Kaaba seven times, and he also performed Sa'y between Safa and Marwa seven times. He said, 'This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing.'"
«أَنَّهُ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ وَطَافَ لَهُمَا سَبْعًا وَسَعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ سَبْعًا وَقَالَ هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَفْعَلُ»
ذِكْرُ وَصْفِ طَوَافِ الْقَارِنِ إِذَا قَرَنَ بَيْنَ حَجِّهِ وَعُمْرَتِهِ
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ did not complete the Sa'i (going back and forth) between Safa and Marwa except for one circuit for his Hajj and Umrah."
«لَمْ يَطُفِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ إِلَّا طَوَافًا وَاحِدًا لِحَجَّتِهِ وَعُمْرَتِهِ»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ الْقَارِنَ يَطُوفُ طَوَافَيْنِ
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever performs both Hajj and Umrah together will receive the reward of performing a single Tawaf for both, and they shall not leave the state of ihram until they have completed their Hajj."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ طَافَ لَهُمَا طَوَافًا وَاحِدًا ثُمَّ لَمْ يَحِلَّ حَتَّى يَحِلَّ مِنْ حَجَّتِهِ»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ الْقَارِنَ يَطُوفُ طَوَافَيْنِ وَيَسْعَى سَعْيَيْنِ
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever performs Hajj and Umrah together, it will be sufficient for both of them with one Tawaf (circumambulation of the Kaaba), and it is not permissible to leave until the Day of Sacrifice, then they may all leave."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ جَمَعَ الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ كَفَاهُ لَهُمَا طَوَافٌ وَاحِدٌ وَلَا يَحِلَّ حَتَّى يَوْمِ النَّحْرِ ثُمَّ يَحِلُّ مِنْهُمَا جَمِيعًا»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ الْقَارِنَ يَطُوفُ طَوَافَيْنِ، وَيَسْعَى سَعْيَيْنِ
"We set out with the Messenger of Allah for the Farewell Pligrimage and we entered Ihram for 'Umrah, then the Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever has a Hadi with him, let him enter Ihram for both Hajj and 'Umrah, then do not exit Ihram until he exits Ihram for them both.' I came to Makkah and I had my menses, so I did not circumambulate the House or (Perform Sa'i) between As-Safa and Al-Marwah. I complained about that to the Messenger of Allah and he said: 'Undo your hair, and comb it, and enter Ihram for Hajj, and leave 'Umrah.' When I had completed Hajj, the Messenger of Allah sent me with 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Bakr to At-Tan'im, and I performed 'Umrah. He said: 'This is the place of your 'Umrah.' Then those who had entered Ihram for 'Umar circumambulated the House and (performed Sa'i) between As-Safa and Al-Marwah. Then they exited Ihram, then they performed Tawaf again, after they came back from Mina for their Hajj. As for those who combined Hajj and 'Umrah, they only performed one Tawaf." أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَأَهْلَلْنَا بِعُمْرَةٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيُهِلَّ بِالْحَجِّ مَعَ الْعُمْرَةِ ثُمَّ لَا يَحِلَّ حَتَّى يَحِلَّ مِنْهُمَا جَمِيعًا» قَالَتْ فَقَدِمْتُ مَكَّةَ وَأَنَا حَائِضٌ لَمْ أَطُفْ بِالْبَيْتِ وَلَا بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ فَشَكَوْتُ ذَلِكَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «انْقُضِي رَأْسَكِ وَامْتَشِطِي وَأَهِلِّي بِالْحَجِّ وَدَعِي الْعُمْرَةَ» قَالَتْ فَفَعَلْتُ فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا الْحَجَّ أَرْسَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَعَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ إِلَى التَّنْعِيمِ فَاعْتَمَرْتُ فَقَالَ «هَذِهِ مَكَانُ عُمْرَتِكِ» قَالَتْ فَطَافَ الَّذِينَ أَهَلُّوا بِالْعُمْرَةِ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ثُمَّ حَلُّوا ثُمَّ طَافُوا طَوَافًا آخَرَ بَعْدَ أَنْ رَجَعُوا مِنْ مِنًى بِحَجِّهِمْ وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَانُوا أَهَلُّوا بِالْحَجِّ وَجَمَعُوا الْحَجَّ وَالْعُمْرَةَ فَإِنَّمَا طَافُوا طَوَافًا وَاحِدًا
ذِكْرُ الْمَوْضِعِ الَّذِي أَمَرَهُمُ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ بِمَا وَصَفْنَا فِيهِ بَعْدَ تَقْدِمَتِهِمُ الْإِهْلَالَ بِعُمْرَةٍ
' Aisha said, "We set out with Messenger of Allah ﷺs in the months of Hajj, and (in) the nights of Hajj, and at the time and places of Hajj and in a state of Hajj. We dismounted at Sarif (a village six miles from Mecca). The Prophet ﷺ then addressed his companions and said, "Anyone who has not got the Hadi and likes to do Umra instead of Hajj may do so (i.e. Hajj-al-Tamattuʿ) and anyone who has got the Hadi should not finish the Ihram after performing ' ʿUmra). (i.e. Hajj-al-Qiran). Aisha added, "The companions of the Prophet ﷺ obeyed the above (order) and some of them (i.e. who did not have Hadi) finished their Ihram after Umra." Messenger of Allah ﷺ and some of his companions were resourceful and had the Hadi with them, they could not perform Umra (alone) (but had to perform both Hajj and Umra with one Ihram). Aisha added, "Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me and saw me weeping and said, "What makes you weep, O Hantah?" I replied, "I have heard your conversation with your companions and I cannot perform the Umra." He asked, "What is wrong with you?' I replied, ' I do not offer the prayers (i.e. I have my menses).' He said, ' It will not harm you for you are one of the daughters of Adam, and Allah has written for you (this state) as He has written it for them. Keep on with your intentions for Hajj and Allah may reward you that." Aisha further added, "Then we proceeded for Hajj till we reached Mina and I became clean from my menses. Then I went out from Mina and performed Tawaf round the Kaʿba." Aisha added, "I went along with the Prophet ﷺ in his final departure (from Hajj) till he dismounted at Al-Muhassab (a valley outside Mecca), and we too, dismounted with him." He called ' ʿAbdur-Rahman bin Abu Bakr and said to him, ' Take your sister outside the sanctuary of Mecca and let her assume Ihram for ' ʿUmra, and when you had finished ' ʿUmra, return to this place and I will wait for you both till you both return to me.' " ' Aisha added, " So we went out of the sanctuary of Mecca and after finishing from the ' ʿUmra and the Tawaf we returned to the Prophet ﷺ at dawn. He said, 'Have you performed the ' ʿUmra?' We replied in the affirmative. So he announced the departure amongst his companions and the people set out for the journey, and the Prophet: too left for Medina.'' خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي أَشْهُرِ الْحَجِّ وَلَيَالِي الْحَجِّ وَحَرَمِ الْحَجِّ حَتَّى نَزَلْنَا بِسَرِفٍ قَالَتْ فَخَرَجَ ﷺ إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ «مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ وَأَحَبَّ أَنْ يَجْعَلَهَا عَمْرَةً فَلْيَفْعَلْ وَمَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ الْهَدْيُ فَلَا» قَالَتْ فَالْآخِذُ بِهَا وَالتَّارِكُ لَهَا مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ قَالَتْ فَأَمَّا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَرِجَالٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَكَانُوا أَهْلَ قُوَّةٍ فَكَانَ مَعَهُمُ الْهَدْيُ فَلَمْ يَقْدِرُوا عَلَى الْعُمْرَةِ قَالَتْ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا أَبْكِي فَقَالَ ﷺ «مَا يُبْكِيكِ يَا هَنْتَاهُ؟ » قُلْتُ قَدْ سَمِعْتُ قَوْلُكَ لِأَصْحَابِكَ فَمُنِعْتُ الْعُمْرَةَ قَالَ «وَمَا شَأْنُكِ؟ » قَالَتْ لَا أُصَلِّي قَالَ «فَلَا يَضُرُّكِ إِنَّمَا أَنْتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ بَنَاتِ آدَمِ كَتَبَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْكِ مَا كَتَبَ عَلَيْهِنَّ فَكُونِي فِي حَجَّتِكِ فَعَسَى أَنْ تُدْرِكِيهَا» قَالَتْ فَخَرَجْنَا فِي حَجِّهِ حَتَّى قَدِمْنَا مِنًى فَطَهَرْتُ ثُمَّ خَرَجْتُ مِنْ مِنًى فَأَفَضْتُ الْبَيْتَ قَالَتْ ثُمَّ خَرَجْتُ مَعَهُ فِي النَّفْرِ الْآخَرِ حَتَّى نَزَلَ الْمُحَصَّبُ وَنَزَلْنَا مَعَهُ فَدَعَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَقَالَ ﷺ «اخْرُجْ بِأُخْتِكَ مِنَ الْحَرَمِ فَلْتُهِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ ثُمَّ افْرُغَا ثُمَّ ائْتِيَا هُنَا فَإِنِّي أَنْظُرُكُمَا حَتَّى تَأْتِيَانِي» قَالَتْ فَخَرَجْتُ لِذَلِكَ حَتَّى فَرَغْتُ وَفَرَغْتُ مِنَ الطَّوَافِ ثُمَّ جِئْتُهُ سَحْرًا فَقَالَ ﷺ «هَلْ فَرَغْتُمْ؟ » قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ فَأَذِنَ بِالرَّحِيلِ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ فَارْتَحَلَ النَّاسُ فَمَرَّ بِالْبَيْتِ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الصُّبْحِ فَطَافَ بِهِ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَرَكِبَ ثُمَّ انْصَرَفَ مُتَوَجِّهًا إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ قَدْ أَمَرَهُمْ مَا وَصَفْنَا قَبْلَ دُخُولِهِمْ مَكَّةَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى مِثْلَ مَا أَمَرَهُمْ بِهِ بِسَرِفٍ
[Machine] "We accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for Hajj, along with women and children. When we arrived in Makkah, we made tawaf around the Kaaba and between Safa and Marwa. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, 'Whoever does not have a sacrificial animal, let him perform Ihram for Umrah.' We asked, 'Which type of Ihram?' He replied, 'All types of Ihram are acceptable.' On the day of Tarwiyah, we performed Hajj and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, 'Share camels and cattle, seven in a group.' Surahqah ibn Malik ibn Jushum came and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, is this Umrah for this year or forever?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'Not just for this year, but forever.' He then asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, explain our religion to us as if we were just created now. What do you think of the actions that we do? Are they for what has already been written or for what lies ahead?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, 'Not for what has already been written, but for what lies ahead.' I asked, 'So what should we do?' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Do good deeds, for everyone will find it easy to do what they are destined to do.'"
خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُهِلِّينَ بِالْحَجِّ وَمَعَنَا النِّسَاءُ وَالذَّرَارِيُّ فَلَمَّا قَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ طُفْنَا بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ فَقَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيٌ فَلْيَحِلَّ» فَقُلْنَا أَيُّ الْحِلِّ؟ فَقَالَ «الْحِلُّ كُلُّهُ» فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ التَّرْوِيَةِ أَهْلَلْنَا بِالْحَجِّ قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اشْتَرِكُوا فِي الْإِبِلِ وَالْبَقَرِ كُلُّ سَبْعَةٍ فِي بَدَنَةٍ» قَالَ فَجَاءَ سُرَاقَةُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَرَأَيْتَ عُمْرَتَنَا هَذِهِ لِعَامِنَا هَذَا أَمْ لِلْأَبَدِ؟ فَقَالَ ﷺ «لَا بَلْ لِلْأَبَدِ» فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ بَيِّنْ لَنَا دِينَنَا كَأَنَّمَا خُلِقْنَا الْآنَ أَرَأَيْتَ الْعَمَلَ الَّذِي نَعْمَلُ بِهِ أَفِيمَا جَفَّتْ بِهِ الْأَقْلَامُ وَجَرَتْ بِهِ الْمَقَادِيرُ أَمْ مِمَّا نَسْتَقْبِلُ؟ فَقَالَ ﷺ «لَا بَلْ فِيمَا جَفَّتْ بِهِ الْأَقْلَامُ وَجَرَتْ بِهِ الْمَقَادِيرُ» قُلْتُ فَفِيمَ الْعَمَلُ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اعْمَلُوا فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ»

١٣۔١٩ بَابٌ، التَّمَتُّعُ
ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ بِالتَّمَتُّعِ لِمَنْ أَرَادَ الْحَجَّ وَاسْتِحْبَابِهِ، وَإِيثَارِهِ عَلَى الْقِرَانِ وَالْإِفْرَادِ مَعًا
[Machine] Narrated by Haywah and Abu Ya'la, they said: We heard Yazid bin Abi Habib saying that Abu Imran told him that he performed Hajj with his followers. He said, "So I came to Umm Salamah, the Mother of the Believers, and I said, 'O Mother of the Believers, I have never performed Hajj before. Which one should I start with, Umrah or Hajj?' She said, 'Start with whichever you want.'" He said, "Then I went to Safiyyah, the Mother of the Believers, and I asked her. She said to me the same as Umm Salamah had said." He said, "Then I went to Umm Salamah and informed her of what Safiyyah had said. Umm Salamah said to me, 'O Umm Salamah, I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'O family of Muhammad, whoever from among you performs Hajj, let them also perform Umrah in the same journey.''"
حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ وَذَكَرَ أَبُو يَعْلَى آخَرَ مَعَهُ قَالَا سَمِعْنَا يَزِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عِمْرَانَ أَنَّهُ حَجَّ مَعَ مَوَالِيهِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَقُلْتُ يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنِّي لَمْ أَحُجَّ قَطُّ فَبِأَيِّهِمَا أَبْدَأُ بِالْعُمْرَةِ أَمْ بِالْحَجِّ قَالَتِ ابْدَأْ بِأَيِّهِمَا شِئْتَ قَالَ ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُ صَفِيَّةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَسَأَلْتُهَا فَقَالَتْ لِي مِثْلَ مَا قَالَتْ قَالَ ثُمَّ جِئْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهَا بِقَوْلِ صَفِيَّةَ فَقَالَتْ لِي أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَا آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ مَنْ حَجِّ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيُهِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ فِي حَجَّةٍ»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الدَّالِّ عَلَى أَنَّ اسْتِحْبَابَ التَّمَتُّعِ لِمَنْ قَصَدَ الْبَيْتَ الْعَتِيقَ، وَإِيثَارَهُ عَلَى الْقِرَانِ وَالْإِفْرَادِ
“We began our Talbiyah for Hajj only with Allah’s Messenger ﷺ, and we did not mix it with ‘Umrah. We arrived in Makkah when four nights of Dhul-Hijjah had passed, and when we had performed Tawaf around the Ka’bah and Sa’y between Safa and Marwah, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us to make it ‘Umrah, and to come out of Ihram and have relations with our wives. We said: ‘There are only five (days) until ‘Arafah. Will we g out to it with our male organs dripping with semen?’ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ‘I am the most righteous and truthful among you, and were it not for the sacrificial animal, I would have exited Ihram.’ Suraqah bin Malik said: ‘Is this Tamattu’ for this year only or forever?’ He said: ‘No, it is forever and ever.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2980)
أَهْلَلْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِالْحَجِّ خَالِصًا لَا نَخْلِطُ بِغَيْرِهِ فَقَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ لِأَرْبَعِ لَيَالٍ خَلَوْنَ مِنْ ذِي الْحِجَّةِ فَلَمَّا طُفْنَا بِالْبَيْتِ وَسَعَيْنَا بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ وَأَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَجْعَلَهَا عَمْرَةً وَأَنْ نَحِلَّ إِلَى النِّسَاءِ فَقُلْنَا بَيْنَنَا لَيْسَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ عَرَفَةَ إِلَّا خَمْسٌ فَنَخْرُجُ إِلَيْهَا وَمَذَاكِيرُنَا تَقْطُرُ مَنِيًّا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنِّي لَأَبَرُّكُمْ وَأَصْدَقُكُمْ وَلَوْلَا الْهَدْيُ لَأَحْلَلْتُ» فَقَامَ سُرَاقَةُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَمْتِعَتُنَا هَذِهِ لِعَامِنَا هَذَا أَمْ لِلْأَبَدِ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «بَلْ لِلْأَبَدِ»

that he performed Ḥajj along with his servants and said: I went to Umm Salamah and said: O Mother of the Believers, I have never performed Hajj before. Should I start with the Ḥajj or do ʿUmrah? She replied: If you wish, perform ʿUmrah first before Hajj, and if you wish, perform ʿUmrah after Hajj. So I went to Ṣafiyyah and she told me the same thing. I then returned to Umm Salamah and informed her about what Ṣafiyyah's said. Umm Salamah said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "O family of Muhammad, whoever among you performs Ḥajj then let them commence their Ḥajj with ʿUmrah ."
أَنَّهُ حَجَّ مَعَ مَوَالِيهِ قَالَ فَأَتَيْتُ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ فَقُلْتُ: يَا أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِنِّي لَمْ أَحُجَّ قَطُّ، فَبِأَيِّهِمَا أَبْدَأُ بِالْحَجِّ أَمْ بِالْعُمْرَةِ؟ فَقَالَتْ: إِنْ شِئْتَ فَاعْتَمِرْ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَحُجَّ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ بَعْدَ أَنْ تَحُجَّ۔ فَذَهَبْتُ إِلَى صَفِيَّةَ فَقَالَتْ لِي مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ۔ فَرَجَعْتُ إِلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهَا بِقَوْلِ صَفِيَّةَ فَقَالَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «يَا آلَ مُحَمَّدٍ مَنْ حَجِّ مِنْكُمْ فَلْيُهِلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ فِي حَجٍّ۔»
ذِكْرُ الْإِبَاحَةِ لِلْمَرْءِ أَنَّ يَتَمَتَّعَ بِالْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى الْحَجِّ، إِذَا قَصَدَ الْبَيْتَ الْعَتِيقَ
[Machine] He (Saad bin Abi Waqqas) said, "How awful of what I said, O nephew! By Allah, indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ did it and we did it with him."
لَهُ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ «بِئْسَ مَا قُلْتُ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي فَوَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ فَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَفَعَلْنَاهُ مَعَهُ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ أَمَرَ مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ الْهَدْيُ بِكُلِّ الْإِحْلَالِ لَا بِالْبَعْضِ مِنْهُ
[Machine] We went out with the Prophet ﷺ, hastening for Hajj. We arrived at Makkah and performed Tawaf around the Kaaba, between Safa and Marwa. Then the Prophet ﷺ addressed us, saying, "Whoever did not bring a sacrificial animal should perform Umrah instead." We asked, "What is the ruling, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "The ruling is for everyone." So we removed our garments and put on Ihram, and we perfumed ourselves with perfume. Some people said, "What is this? We are going to 'Arafat and our garments are dripping with semen!" This was then reported to the Prophet ﷺ, who stood among us in a state of anger and said, "I swear by Allah, you all knew that I was the most pious among you. If I had known that you were saying this, I would not have offered the sacrificial animal. So forgive what you have been ordered." Surahqa ibn Malik ibn Ju'shum stood up and said, "O Messenger of Allah, is this Umrah of ours a one-time thing or is it for every year?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "No, it is for every year."
خَرَجْنَا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ مُهِلِّينَ بِالْحَجِّ فَقَدِمْنَا مَكَّةَ فَطُفْنَا بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ثُمَّ قَامَ فِينَا النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مِنْكُمْ سَاقَ هَدْيًا فَلْيَحْلِلْ وَلْيَجْعَلْهَا عَمْرَةً» فَقُلْنَا حِلٌّ مِنْ ذَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ؟ قَالَ «الْحِلُّ كُلُّهُ» فَوَاقَعْنَا النِّسَاءَ وَلَبِسْنَا وَتَطَيَّبْنَا بِالطِّيبِ فَقَالَ أُنَاسٌ مَا هَذَا الْأَمْرُ نَأْتِي عَرَفَةَ وَأُيُورُنَا تَقْطُرُ مَنِيًّا؟ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَامَ فِينَا كَالْمُغْضَبِ فَقَالَ «وَاللَّهِ لَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمْ أَنِّي أَتْقَاكُمْ وَلَوْ عَلِمْتُ أَنَّكُمْ تَقُولُونَ هَذَا مَا سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ فَاسْمَحُوا بِمَا تُؤْمَرُونَ بِهِ» فَقَامَ سُرَاقَةُ بْنُ مَالِكِ بْنِ جُعْشُمٍ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ عُمْرَتُنَا هَذِهِ الَّتِي أَمَرْتَنَا بِهَا أَلِعَامِنَا هَذَا أَمْ لِلْأَبَدِ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «بَلْ لِلْأَبَدِ»
ذِكْرُ السَّبَبِ الَّذِي مِنْ أَجْلِهِ أَمَرَهُمْ ﷺ بِالْإِحْلَالِ وَلَمْ يَحِلَّ هُوَ بِنَفْسِهِ
Hafsa said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! What is wrong with the people; they finished their Ihram after performing ʿUmra, but you have not finished it after your ʿUmra?" He replied, "I matted my hair and have garlanded my Hadi. So, I cannot finish my Ihram till I slaughter (my Hadi). " (Using translation from Bukhārī 1725)
أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ حَلُّوا وَلَمْ تَحِلَّ أَنْتَ مِنْ عُمْرَتِكَ؟ فَقَالَ «إِنِّي لَبَّدْتُ رَأْسِي وَقَلَّدْتُ هَدْيِي فَلَا أَحِلُّ حَتَّى أَنْحَرَ»
ذِكْرُ أَمْرِ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ أَصْحَابَهُ الَّذِينَ أَحَلُّوا بِالْعُمْرَةِ، وَلَمْ يَسُوقُوا هَدْيًا أَنْ يَحِلُّوا
"We set out with the Messenger of Allah for the Farewell Pilgrimage. Some of us entered Ihram for Hajj and some of us entered Ihram for Umrah and brought along a Hadi. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever entered Ihram for Umrah and did not bring Hadi, let him exit Ihram. And whoever entered Ihram for Umrah and did bring a Hadi, let him not exit Ihra. Whoever entered Ihram for Hajj let him complete his Hajj.'" Aishah said "And I was one of those who had entered Ihram for Umrah." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2991)
خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَمِنَّا مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِحَجٍّ وَمِنَّا مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَأَهْدَى فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ فَلَمْ يُهْدِ فَلْيَحِلَّ وَمَنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ فَأَهْدَى فَلَا يَحِلَّ وَمَنْ أَهَلَّ بِحَجٍّ فَلْيُتِمَّ حَجَّهُ» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ وَكُنْتُ مِمَّنْ أَهَلَّ بِعُمْرَةٍ
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ أَمَرَ بِإِدْخَالِ الْحَجِّ عَلَى الْعُمْرَةِ مَنْ أَهَلَّ بِهَا، وَمَنْ سَاقَ الْهَدْيَ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ
[Machine] "We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for the Farewell Pilgrimage. I performed Umrah and did not offer the sacrificial animal. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Whoever among you has brought the sacrificial animal, should perform Hajj along with the Umrah, but should not assume Ihram for Hajj until both are completed.' I then experienced menstruation on the night of Arafat and asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what I should do. He responded, 'Take a bath, assume Ihram for Umrah, and perform Hajj with your family.' I performed Hajj and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent with me Abdur Rahman ibn Abu Bakr, who guided me in performing Umrah in the place where I had left it."
خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ فَأَهْلَلْتُ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَلَمْ أَكُنْ سُقْتُ الْهَدْيَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ قَدْ سَاقَ هَدْيًا فَلْيُهِلَّ بِحَجٍّ مَعَ عُمْرَتِهِ ثُمَّ لَا يَحِلَّ حَتَّى يَحِلَّ مِنْهُمَا جَمِيعًا» قَالَتْ فَحِضْتُ لَيْلَةَ عَرَفَةَ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ فِي حَجَّتِي قَالَ «امْتَشِطِي وَدَعِي الْعُمْرَةَ وَأَهِلِّي بِالْحَجِّ» قَالَتْ فَحَجَجْتُ فَبَعَثَ مَعِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَأَعْمَرَنِي مَكَانَ عُمْرَتِي الَّتِي تَرَكْتُهَا
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْإِحْلَالِ، إِنَّمَا أُبِيحَ لِمَنْ لَمْ يَسُقِ الْهَدْيَ مَعَهُ فِي الِابْتِدَاءِ
[Machine] "We accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for five days in the month of Dhu al-Qa'dah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded those who had performed Tawaf to assume the state of Ihram except if they had already carried out a sacrifice. We brought the meat of a cow, and I asked, 'What is this?' They replied, 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ slaughtered it on behalf of his wives.'"
خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِخَمْسٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ «فَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ كَانَ طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ أَنْ يَحِلَّ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ سَاقَ هَدْيًا» قَالَتْ وَأَتَيْنَا بِلَحْمِ بَقَرٍ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالُوا «ذَبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَزْوَاجِهِ»
ذِكْرُ وَصْفِ مَا يَعْمَلُ الْمُتَمَتِّعُ بِالْعُمْرَةِ إِلَى الْحَجِّ عِنْدَ دُخُولِ مَكَّةَ
We set out in the company of Messenger of Allah ﷺ five days before the end of Dhul Qa'da intending to perform Hajj only. When we approached Mecca Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered those who did not have the Hadi (i.e. an animal for sacrifice) with them, to perform the Tawaf around the Kaʿba, and between Safa and Marwa and then finish their Ihram. Beef was brought to us on the day of (i.e. the days of slaughtering) and I asked, "What is this?" Somebody said, Messenger of Allah ﷺ has slaughtered (a cow) on behalf of his wives." أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ عَائِشَةَ تَقُولُ خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِخَمْسِ لَيَالٍ بَقِينَ مِنْ ذِي الْقَعْدَةِ لَا نَرَى إِلَّا أَنَّهُ الْحَجُّ فَلَمَّا دَنَوْنَا مِنْ مَكَّةَ «» أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ مَعَهُ هَدْيً إِذَا طَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَسَعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ أَنْ يَحِلَّ «» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ بِلَحْمِ بَقَرٍ فَقُلْتُ مَا هَذَا؟ قَالَ «» نَحَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَزْوَاجِهِ «» قَالَ يَحْيَى فَذَكَرْتُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ لِلْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ فَقَالَ أَتَتْكَ وَاللَّهِ بِالْحَدِيثِ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ
13.20 [Machine] Chapter: What is mentioned about the Hajj (pilgrimage) of the Prophet ﷺ and his 'I'timar (performing multiple 'Umrahs within a single Hajj season)?
١٣۔٢٠ بَابٌ، مَا جَاءَ فِي حَجِّ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَاعْتِمَارِهِ
[Machine] He heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Here I am responding to your call, performing Umrah and Hajj."
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَبَّيْكَ عَمْرَةً وَحَجًّا»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُصَرِّحِ بِأَنَّ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ كَانَ قَارِنًا فِي حَجَّتِهِ
“Abu Talhah told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed Hajj and ‘Umrah together (Qiran).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2971)
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَرَنَ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ وَقَرَنَ الْقَوْمُ مَعَهُ»
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ مَا وَصَفْنَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ
“I was by the knees of the she-camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, at Shajarah. When it rose up with him, he said: ‘Labbaika bi ‘Umrah wa Hajjah ma’an [Here I am (O Allah) for ‘Umrah and Hajj together].’ That was during the Farewell Pilgrimage.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2917)
إِنَّا عِنْدَ ثَفِنَاتِ نَاقَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عِنْدَ الْمَسْجِدِ فَلَمَّا اسْتَوَتْ بِهِ قَالَ «لَبَّيْكَ بِحَجَّةٍ وَعُمْرَةٍ مَعًا» وَذَلِكَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ أَوْهَمَ مَنْ لَمْ يُحْكِمْ صِنَاعَةَ الْحَدِيثِ أَنَّهُ مُضَادٌّ لِخَبَرِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الَّذِي ذَكَرْنَاهُ
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Labbayk for 'Umrah and Hajj." Humaid narrated to me that Bakr ibn Abdullah al-Muzani mentioned a Hadith from Anas ibn Malik to Ibn Umar, who asked, "Did Anas claim that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed Hajj only?" I then mentioned the statement of Ibn Umar to Anas ibn Malik, who replied, "I don't consider Ibn Umar anything other than a young boy."
سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «لَبَّيْكَ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَحَجَّةٍ» قَالَ حُمَيْدٌ حَدَّثَنِي بَكْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ حَدِيثَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ وَهَلْ أَنَسٌ أَفْرَدَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْحَجَّ قَالَ فَذَكَرْتُ قَوْلَ ابْنِ عُمَرَ لِأَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ فَقَالَ مَا يَحْسَبُ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِلَّا أَنَّا صَبِيَّانِ
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَانٍ يُصَرِّحُ بِصِحَّةِ مَا ذَكَرْنَاهُ
The Messenger of Allah (SWAS) performed Hajj exclusively (without performing ʿUmrah in the beginning). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1777)
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَفْرَدَ الْحَجَّ»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ مَالِكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ
'A'Isha reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered into the state of Ihram for Hajj Afrad. (Using translation from Muslim 1211l)
«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَفْرَدَ الْحَجَّ»
ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ هَذِهِ اللَّفْظَةَ تَفَرَّدَ بِهَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ
The Messenger of Allah (SWAS) performed Hajj exclusively (without performing ʿUmrah in the beginning). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1777)
«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَفْرَدَ الْحَجَّ»
ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَالِثٍ أَوْهَمَ عَالَمًا مِنَ النَّاسِ أَنَّهُ مُضَادُّ لِلْخَبَرَيْنِ الْأَوَّلَيْنِ اللَّذَيْنِ ذَكَرْنَاهُمَا
[Machine] I will inform you a story, if my pain subsides, do not mention it. But if I encounter any difficulty, do mention it to me. If it appears to you, "Indeed, we enjoyed with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he did not prevent us from it until he passed away. A man saw a dream."
لَهُ إِنِّي مُحَدِّثُكَ حَدِيثًا فَإِنْ بَرِئْتُ مِنْ وَجَعِي فَلَا تُحَدِّثْ بِهِ وَلَوْ مَضَيْتُ لَشَأْنِي فَحَدِّثْ بِهِ إِنْ بَدَا لَكَ «إِنَّا اسْتَمْتَعْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَنْهَنَا عَنْهُ حَتَّى مَاتَ ﷺ رَأَى رَجُلٌ رَأْيَهُ»
ذِكْرُ وَصْفِ الِاسْتِمْتَاعِ الَّذِي ذَكَرَهُ خَالِدُ بْنُ دُرَيْكٍ فِي هَذَا الْخَبَرِ
[Machine] "That it benefits you, indeed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed both Hajj and Umrah together and he did not prohibit it, nor did he negate it, nor did he declare it forbidden. And he used to greet me while I was performing Ihram (ritual consecration for Hajj or Umrah), and when I completed it, he went away from me, and when I left it, he returned to me."
أَنْ يَنْفَعَكَ بِهِ «إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ جَمَعَ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ وَلَمْ يَنْهَ عَنْهُ وَلَمْ يَنْزِلْ فِيهِ وَلَمْ يُحَرِّمْهُ وَكَانَ يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا اكْتَوَيْتُ ذَهَبَ أَوْ رُفِعَ عَنِّي فَلَمَّا تَرَكْتُهُ رَجَعَ إِلَيَّ»
