The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of someone's death or life (i.e. birth), but they are two signs amongst the Signs of Allah. So, if you see them (i.e. eclipse) offer the (eclipse) prayer.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لاَ يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon are two signs amongst the Signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of someone's death or life. So, if you see them (i.e. eclipse), celebrate the Praises of Allah (i.e. pray).

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ لاَ يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَاذْكُرُوا اللَّهَ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "the sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life of someone, but they are two signs amongst the Signs of Allah. So, if you see them, offer the Prayer (of eclipse).

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ لاَ يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death of someone from the people but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. When you see them stand up and pray."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لاَ يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life (i.e. birth) of someone but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. When you see them offer the prayer."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لاَ يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهَا فَصَلُّوا

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of someone's death or life but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah, so pray whenever you see them."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ لاَ يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا

On the day of Ibrahim's death, the sun eclipsed and the people said that the eclipse was due to the death of Ibrahim (the son of the Prophet). Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of someone's death or life. So when you see them, invoke Allah and pray till the eclipse is clear."

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ لاَ يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَادْعُوا اللَّهَ وَصَلُّوا حَتَّى يَنْجَلِيَ

Verily the sun and the moon are the two signs among the signs of Allah by which He frightens his servants and they do not eclipse on account of the death of any one of the people. So when you see anything about them, observe prayer, supplicate Allah till it is cleared from you.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ يُخَوِّفُ اللَّهُ بِهِمَا عِبَادَهُ وَإِنَّهُمَا لاَ يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ مِنْهَا شَيْئًا فَصَلُّوا وَادْعُوا اللَّهَ حَتَّى يُكْشَفَ مَا بِكُمْ

Verily the sun and the moon do not eclipse on account of the death of any one of the people, but they are the two signs among the signs of Allah. So when you see it, stand up and observe prayer.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيْسَ يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا

Verily the sun and the moon do not eclipse on account of the death or life of anyone. They are in fact the signs among the signs of Allah. So when you see them, observe prayer.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لاَ يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَةٌ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The sun and moon are two signs of Allah (SWT), the Most High, and they do not become eclipsed for death or birth of anyone, rather Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, strikes fear into His slaves through them.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى لاَ يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّ اللَّهَ ﷻ يُخَوِّفُ بِهِمَا عِبَادَهُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The sun and moon do not become eclipsed for death or birth of anyone, rather they are two of the signs of Allah (SWT) the Most High, so when you see that then pray."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لاَ يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The sun and the moon do not become eclipsed for the death or birth of anyone, rather they are two of the signs of Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, so when you see that then pray.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لاَ يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ ﷻ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The sun and moon are two signs of Allah ﷺ, and they do not become eclipsed for the death or birth of anyone. If you see that then pray until it (the eclipse) is over.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ ﷻ وَإِنَّهُمَا لاَ يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَنْجَلِيَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The sun and the moon do not become eclipsed for the death of anyone among mankind. If you see that, then stand and perform prayer.”

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لاَ يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of someone's death or life but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah, so pray whenever you see them." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1057)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَةٌ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The sun and moon do not become eclipsed for death or birth of anyone, rather they are two of the signs of Allah (SWT) the Most High, so when you see that then pray." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1461)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَةٌ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا

[Machine] The sun darkened at the time of the death of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when Ibrahim died. The people said, "The sun has darkened due to the death of Ibrahim." The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "Indeed, the sun and the moon are signs from Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone. So when you see that, pray and supplicate to Allah."

كَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ مَاتَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ كَسَفَتْ لِمَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَةٌ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَصَلُّوا وَادْعُوا اللهَ ﷻ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The sun and moon do not become eclipsed for death or birth of anyone, rather they are two of the signs of Allah (SWT) the Most High, so when you see that then pray." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1461)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ قَالَ يَزِيدُ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ تَعَالَى فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death of someone from the people but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. When you see them stand up and pray." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1041)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيْسَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَقُومُوا فَصَلُّوا»

[Machine] The sun was eclipsed, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed and his prayer was narrated by Ibn Abbas that he ﷺ prayed two units (rak'ahs) in each unit (rak'ah), then he gave them a sermon and said, "Verily, the sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah; they do not eclipse for the death or life of any person. So, when you witness that, hasten to the remembrance of Allah."

خَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ فَصَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَحَكَى ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ صَلَاتَهُ ﷺ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَةٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ خَطَبَهُمْ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ لَا يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَافْزَعُوا إِلَى ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ»

[Machine] "The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he said, 'Verily, the sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse because of the death or life of anyone. So when you see them, give charity, pray, glorify Allah, and supplicate to Him.'"

خَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ لَا يَنْخَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهَا فَتَصَدَّقُوا وَصَلُّوا وَكَبِّرُوا وَادْعُوا اللَّهَ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The sun and moon do not become eclipsed for death or birth of anyone, rather they are two of the signs of Allah (SWT) the Most High, so when you see that then pray." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1461)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا»

[Machine] "The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The sun and the moon do not eclipse due to someone's death or life. So if you see anything from that, then pray until it becomes clear or Allah brings about a matter.'"

انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ شَيْئًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَنْجَلِيَ أَوْ يُحَدِّثَ اللَّهُ أَمْرًا»

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs from among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone. So when you see that, hasten to perform the prayer.'"

رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَافْزَعُوا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ»

[Machine] I heard Abu Mas'ud say that the sun was eclipsed on the day that Ibrahim, the son of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , passed away. The people said that the sun was eclipsed due to Ibrahim's death. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the sun and the moon are signs from the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or the life of anyone. So when you see that, then hasten to remember Allah and to pray."

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مَسْعُودٍ يَقُولُ انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمَ تُوُفِّيَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ انْكَسَفَتْ لِمَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَافْزَعُوا إِلَى ذِكْرِ اللهِ وَإِلَى الصَّلَاةِ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, the sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah, and they do not eclipse due to the death of anyone. So when you see them, pray until it becomes clear."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهَا فَصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَنْجَلِيَ»

[Machine] The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Ibrahim's death coincided with it. He said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone, but when you see it happening, then pray."

انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ وَوَافَقَ ذَلِكَ مَوْتَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنْ إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهَا فَصَلُّوا»

Verily the sun and the moon do not eclipse on account of the death of any one of the people, but they are the two signs among the signs of Allah. So when you see it, stand up and observe prayer. (Using translation from Muslim 911b)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَيْسَ يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهَا فَقُومُوا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ»

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life (i.e. birth) of someone but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. When you see them offer the prayer." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1042)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْخَسِفَانُ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهَا فَصَلُّوا»

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "Verily, the sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah. So when you see that, haste to perform the prayer."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَافْزَعُوا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ»

[Machine] The sun was eclipsed on the day Ibrahim, the son of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, died. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah. They do not become eclipsed for the death or the life of anyone. So, when you see them, then engage in supplication until they become clear."

انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمَ مَاتَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ابْنُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا تَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالدُّعَاءِ حَتَّى تَنْكَشِفَ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone, but rather Allah frightens His servants with them." Abu Abdur-Rahman Qatada disagreed with him.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ يُخَوِّفُ بِهِمَا عِبَادَهُ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ خَالَفَهُ قَتَادَةُ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The sun and moon are two signs of Allah (SWT), the Most High, and they do not become eclipsed for death or birth of anyone, rather Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, strikes fear into His slaves through them.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1459)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يُكْسَفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنْ اللهَ يُخَوِّفُ بِهِمَا عِبَادَهُ»

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life (i.e. birth) of someone but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. When you see them offer the prayer." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1042)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يُخْسَفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَةٌ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The sun and the moon do not become eclipsed for the death or birth of anyone, rather they are two of the signs of Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, so when you see that then pray.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1462)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'The sun and moon are two signs of Allah ﷺ, and they do not become eclipsed for the death or birth of anyone. If you see that then pray until it (the eclipse) is over.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1463)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ وَإِنَّهُمَا لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا حَتَّى تَنْجَلِيَ»

[Machine] "From the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , that he said: Indeed, the sun and the moon do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone, but they are signs from the signs of Allah. So when you see them, pray."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَةٌ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهَا فَصَلُّوا

[Machine] I only prayed as I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying, and he said, "Verily, the sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone. So if you see anything of them as an eclipse, then seek refuge in Allah."

إِنَّمَا صَلَّيْتُ كَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ شَيْئًا مِنْهُمَا خَاسِفًا فَلْيَكُنْ فَزَعُكُمْ إِلَى اللهِ

[Machine] The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and they said it had eclipsed because of the death of Ibrahim. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the mosque and prayed with the people. He said, "O people, the sun and the moon do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone. So when you see that, hasten to the prayer."

انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالُوا إِنَّمَا انْكَسَفَتْ لِمَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فَقَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَافْزَعُوا إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ

[Machine] The sun eclipsed on the day Ibrahim, the son of the Messenger of Allah, died. The people said, "The sun has eclipsed because of Ibrahim's death." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs from among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone. So when you see that, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and to prayer."

انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمَ مَاتَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ ابْنُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ لِمَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَافْزَعُوا إِلَى ذِكْرِ اللهِ وَإِلَى الصَّلَاةِ

[Machine] The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so the people said that it had eclipsed due to the death of Ibrahim. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Indeed, the sun and the moon do not eclipse due to anyone's death or life, but they are two signs from the signs of Allah. So when you see them, then pray."

انْكَسَفَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ انْكَسَفَتْ لِمَوْتِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا

"إِنَّما الشَّمْسُ والقمُر آيتان مْن آيات اللَّهِ لا يخسفان لموت أَحد ولا لحياته، فإِذا رأَيتم شيئًا خاسفًا فَليَكُنْ فَزَعُكُم إِلَى اللَّهِ ".

"أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لا يَنْخَسِفَانِ لِمَوتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لحيَاتِهِ فَإِذَا رَأَيتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَافْزَعُوا إِلَى الصَّلاةِ (والصَّدَقة) وَإِلَى ذِكْرِ اللهِ، وَقَدْ رَأَيتُ مِنْكمْ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفًا يَدخُلُونَ الجَنَّةَ بغَيرِ حِسَاب مثْلَ صَورَة القَمَرِ لَيلَةَ البَدْرِ".

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death of someone from the people but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. When you see them stand up and pray." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1041)

"إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ، والْقَمَرَ لا يُخْسفَان لِموتِ أَحدٍ، ولا لحياتِهِ ولكنَّهما آيتَانِ مِنْ آياتِ الله فَإِذا رأَيتُمُوها فَصلُّوا".

"إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ، والْقَمر لَا ينْكسِفَان لِموْتِ أَحدٍ، ولا لِحياتِه، فَإِذا رأَيتُم شيئًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ فَصَلُّوا حتَّى تَنْجلِي أَوْ يحْدِث الله أَمْرًا".

"إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ، والْقَمر آيتَان من آياتِ الله فَإِذَا رأَيتُمْ ذَلِكَ فَافْزَعُوا إِلى الصَّلاةِ".

"إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ، والْقَمَرَ آيتان من آياتِ الله لا ينْكسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحدٍ مِنَ النَّاسِ، فَإِذا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَصلُّوا حتَّى ينْجَلِى".

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of someone's death or life but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah, so pray whenever you see them." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1057)

"إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ والْقَمَرَ آيتان مِنْ آياتِ الله لا ينْكَسِفَانِ لِموْتِ أَحدٍ، ولا لِحياتِه، فَإِذَا رأَيتُم ذَلِكَ فَافْزَعُوا إِلى الصَّلاةِ"

"إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ والْقَمَرَ لا ينْكسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَد ولا لِحَيَاتِه، وَلَكِنَّهما آيَتَانِ مِنْ آياتِ الله يُخوِّفُ بهما عِبَادَه فَإِذَا رأَيتُم ذَلِكَ فَصَلُّوا كَأَحْدَثِ صَلاةٍ مَكْتُوبَةٍ صَلَّيتُمُوها".

Verily the sun and the moon are the two signs among the signs of Allah by which He frightens his servants and they do not eclipse on account of the death of any one of the people. So when you see anything about them, observe prayer, supplicate Allah till it is cleared from you. (Using translation from Muslim 911a)

"إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ والْقَمَرَ لا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَد، وَلا لِحَيَاتِه، ولَكِنَّهُما آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ الله يُخوِّفُ الله بِهما عبَادَه، فَإِذا رأيتُم ذَلِكَ فَصَلُّوا وادْعوا حتَّى يكْشفَ مَا بِكُمْ".
