قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ} [فصلت: 37]

nasai-kubra:11407 – Qutaybah b. Saʿīd > Ḥammād > Yūnus > al-Ḥasan > Abū Bakrah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the sun and the moon are two signs from the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone, but rather Allah frightens His servants with them." Abu Abdur-Rahman Qatada disagreed with him.  

الكبرى للنسائي:١١٤٠٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّ اللهَ يُخَوِّفُ بِهِمَا عِبَادَهُ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ خَالَفَهُ قَتَادَةُ

الكبرى للنسائي:١٨٥٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ أَبِي بَكَرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللهِ لَا يُكْسَفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنْ اللهَ يُخَوِّفُ بِهِمَا عِبَادَهُ»  

suyuti:5610a –

Verily the sun and the moon are the two signs among the signs of Allah by which He frightens his servants and they do not eclipse on account of the death of any one of the people. So when you see anything about them, observe prayer, supplicate Allah till it is cleared from you. (Using translation from Muslim 911a)   

السيوطي:٥٦١٠a –

"إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ والْقَمَرَ لا يَنْكَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَد، وَلا لِحَيَاتِه، ولَكِنَّهُما آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ الله يُخوِّفُ الله بِهما عبَادَه، فَإِذا رأيتُم ذَلِكَ فَصَلُّوا وادْعوا حتَّى يكْشفَ مَا بِكُمْ".
