قَوْلُهُ تَعَالَى: {وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ} [فصلت: 37]

nasai-kubra:11408 – Muḥammad b. Bashhār > Muʿādh b. Hishām from my father > Qatādah > al-Ḥasan > al-Nuʿmān b. Bashīr

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life of anyone, but they are two creations from the creations of Allah, and Allah does whatever He wills in His creation." (Shortened)  

الكبرى للنسائي:١١٤٠٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْخَسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلَا لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا خَلِيقَتَانِ مِنْ خَلْقِهِ يُحْدِثُ اللهُ فِي خَلْقِهِ مَا يَشَاءُ» مُخْتَصَرٌ

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life (i.e. birth) of someone but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah. When you see them offer the prayer."

The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of someone's death or life (i.e. birth), but they are two signs amongst the Signs of Allah. So, if you see them (i.e. eclipse) offer the (eclipse) prayer.

The Prophet ﷺ said, "the sun and the moon do not eclipse because of the death or life of someone, but they are two signs amongst the Signs of Allah. So, if you see them, offer the Prayer (of eclipse).

Verily the sun and the moon do not eclipse on account of the death or life of anyone. They are in fact the signs among the signs of Allah. So when you see them, observe prayer.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The sun and moon do not become eclipsed for death or birth of anyone, rather they are two of the signs of Allah (SWT) the Most High, so when you see that then pray."  

النسائي:١٤٦١ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ لاَ يَخْسِفَانِ لِمَوْتِ أَحَدٍ وَلاَ لِحَيَاتِهِ وَلَكِنَّهُمَا آيَتَانِ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُمَا فَصَلُّوا  

ahmad:5996 – Hārūn b. Maʿrūf > ʿAbdullāh b. Wahb > ʿAmr b. al-Ḥārith > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. al-Qāsim from his father > ʿAbdullāh b. ʿUmar

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse because of someone's death or life but they are two signs amongst the signs of Allah, so pray whenever you see them." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1057)  

أحمد:٥٩٩٦ – حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الْقَاسِمِ حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ

"إِنَّ أَهلَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ كَانُوا يَقُولونَ: إِنَّ الشَّمسَ، والْقَمَرَ لَا يَنْخَسِفَانِ إِلَّا لموَتِ عَظيم مِنْ عُظَمَاءِ أهلِ الأرْضِ، وإِنَّ الشمسَ والقَمر لا ينْخَسِفَان لِمَوتِ أحَد وَلَا لحَيَاتِهِ، ولكنَّهما خَلِيقَتَان مِنْ خَلقِهِ، يُحدِث اللَّهُ في خَلقِهِ ما شَاءَ، فَأَيُّهُما انْخَسفَ فَصلُّوا حتَّى ينْجلى أو يُحدِثَ اللَّهُ أمرًا".
