"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite: "Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High;" in witr, in the second rak'ah he would recite: "Say: O you disbelievers!"; and in the third "Say: He is Allah, (the) One". And he only said the taslim at the end, and he would say- meaning after the taslim: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy)' three times."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوَتْرِ بِ { سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى } وَفِي الرَّكْعَةِ الثَّانِيَةِ بِ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ بِ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ } وَلاَ يُسَلِّمُ إِلاَّ فِي آخِرِهِنَّ وَيَقُولُ يَعْنِي بَعْدَ التَّسْلِيمِ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلاَثًا

Ibn Abbas used to pray witr with three (units) with (the Surahs): "Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High" (Surah Al-A'la), "Say: O You disbelievers" (Surah Al-Kafirun), and "Say: He is Allah, (the) One" (Surah Al-Ikhlas).

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِثَلاَثٍ بِ { سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى } وَ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ }

Ubayy bin Ka'b said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the salam, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times."

"Shu'bah narrated to us, from Salamah and Zubaid, from Dharr, from Ibn Abdur-Rahman bin Abza from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the taslim, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, raising his voice the third time."

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he had finished praying, he said: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times."

"Abu Dawud narrated to us from Shu'bah, from Qatadah, who said: I heard 'Azarah narrating from Sa'eed bin 'Abdur-Rahman Ibn Abza, from his father That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he had finished praying, he said: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِ { سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى } وَ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ } وَيَقُولُ بَعْدَ مَا يُسَلِّمُ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ يَرْفَعُ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ

His father said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High;' and "Say: O you disbelievers!'; and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One." And after he had said the salam, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, raising his voice with it."

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High;' and "Say: O you disbelievers!'; and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One." Ibn Abbas used to pray witr with three (units) with (the Surahs): "Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High" (Surah Al-A'la), "Say: O You disbelievers" (Surah Al-Kafirun), and "Say: He is Allah, (the) One" (Surah Al-Ikhlas). (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1703)

[Machine] "Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he used to recite in the Witr prayer, 'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High,' 'Say: O disbelievers,' and 'Say: He is Allah, the One.' Then, after making the salutation, he would say, 'Glorified is the Sovereign, the Holy; glorified is the Sovereign, the Holy; glorified is the Sovereign, the Holy,' and he raised his voice with it."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ وَرَفَعَ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ وَكَانَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ يُطَوِّلُهَا ثَلَاثًا

[Machine] Zubayd and Salamah informed me that they heard from Ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Abzah, from his father, that the Prophet ﷺ used to perform the night prayer with the recitation of the Surah of "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High," and the Surahs of "O disbelievers" and "Say: He is Allah, the One." And when he finished the prayer, he would say, "Exalted is the King, the Holy One," three times, raising his voice in the last one.

زُبَيْدٌ وَسَلَمَةُ أَخْبَرَانِي أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا ذَرًّا عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ وَكَانَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثًا يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ بِالْآخِرَةِ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْصَرِفَ مِنَ الْوِتْرِ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to perform the Witr prayer with reciting the Surah "Subhanallahi-l-‘Azeem" (Glory be to Allah, the Supreme) and "Qul ya ayyuha-l-Kafiroon" (Say: O disbelievers) and "Huwa Allahu ahad" (He is Allah, the One) and after completing the prayer, he would say "Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus" (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Holy) three times, prolonging his voice in the last one of them.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ وَيَقُولُ إِذَا جَلَسَ فِي آخِرِ صَلَاتِهِ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثًا يَمُدُّ بِالْآخِرَةِ صَوْتَهُ

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Witr and recite: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord the Most High.’, [Al-A’la (87)] ‘Say: O you disbelievers!” [Al-Kafirun (109)] and ‘Say: Allah is One.”. [Al-Ikhlas (112)] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1171)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ

Ubayy bin Ka'b said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the salam, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1729)

"Shu'bah narrated to us, from Salamah and Zubaid, from Dharr, from Ibn Abdur-Rahman bin Abza from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the taslim, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, raising his voice the third time." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1732)

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the taslim, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, elongating his words the third time." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1734)

"Abu Dawud narrated to us from Shu'bah, from Qatadah, who said: I heard 'Azarah narrating from Sa'eed bin 'Abdur-Rahman Ibn Abza, from his father That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' [Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Witr prayer with recitations of "Subhan Allahi al-A'la" and "Say: O disbelievers" and "Say: He is Allah, the One." And in the narration of Isra'il, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Witr prayer, and Zuhair ibn Mu'awiya disagreed with them and narrated it differently.

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ وَقَدْ خَالَفَهُمَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ فَرَوَاهُ

[Machine] He used to recite three chapters: So glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, and say, "O disbelievers," and say, "He is Allah, the One." Ismael said it and Zuhair stopped him, and Isra'il repeated it.

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِثَلَاثِ سُوَرٍ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمِ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ قَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ وَقَفَهُ زُهَيْرٌ وَرَفَعَهُ إِسْرَائِيلُ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the Witr prayer in three units, in which he would recite Surah Al-Ala (Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High), Surah Al-Kafirun (Say: O disbelievers), and Surah Al-Ikhlas (Say: He is Allah, the One). He would also engage in supplication before the Ruku' (bowing) position and say "Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus" (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) twice, quietly the first time and aloud the second time, extending his voice with it.
