The Prophet ﷺ, when he said taslim ˹at the end of his prayer˺, he would say:
allāhumma anta al-salām, wa-minka al-salām, tabārakta yā dha al-jalāl wa-al-ikrām
(O Allah, You are Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor)
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ:
«اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ، وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ».
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ finished his prayer, he would seek forgiveness three times and say:
"O Allah, You are Peace, and from You is peace. Blessed are You, Possessor of majesty and honor."
al-Walid said: I said to al-Awzai, “How is the seeking of forgiveness?” He said: You say: I seek forgiveness from Allah, I seek forgiveness from Allah.
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا انْصَرَفَ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ اسْتَغْفَرَ ثَلاَثًا وَقَالَ:
«اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ، وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ، تَبَارَكْتَ ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ».
قَالَ الْوَلِيدُ: فَقُلْتُ لِلأَوْزَاعِيِّ: كَيْفَ الاِسْتِغْفَارُ؟ قَالَ: تَقُولُ: أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ.
When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pronounced salutation, he salutation longer than it took him to say: O Allah: Thou art Peace, and peace comes from Thee, blessed art Thou, Possessor of Glory and ]Honour; and in the narration of Ibn Numair the words are:" O Possessor of Glory and Honour."
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا سَلَّمَ لَمْ يَقْعُدْ إِلاَّ مِقْدَارَ مَا يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ تَبَارَكْتَ ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ وَفِي رِوَايَةِ ابْنِ نُمَيْرٍ يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ
When the Prophet ﷺ finished the prayer, he asked forgiveness three times and said: "O Allah ....." The narrator then narrated the tradition like that of 'Aishah.
عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْصَرِفَ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ اسْتَغْفَرَ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَى حَدِيثِ عَائِشَةَ ؓ
"When Messenger of Allah said the Salam he would not remain seated except long enough to say: (Allahumma antas-salam, wa minkas-salam, tabarakta dhal jalali wal-Ikram) 'O Allah! You are the One free of defects, and perfection is from You. Blessed are You, Possessor of Majesty and Honor.'"
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَلَّمَ لاَ يَقْعُدُ إِلاَّ مِقْدَارَ مَا يَقُولُ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ تَبَارَكْتَ ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ
Messenger of Allah said: "When Messenger of Allah wanted to turn from his Salat, he would seek forgiveness from Allah three times, then say: (Allahumma Antas-Salam, wa minkas-salam, tabarakta ya dhal-jalali wal-Ikram) 'O Allah! You are the One free of defects and perfection is from You. Blessed are You, O Possesor of Majesty and Honor.'"
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْصَرِفَ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ اسْتَغْفَرَ اللَّهَ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , whenever he concluded his prayer, would seek forgiveness three times and then say: "O Allah, You are Peace and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Glory and Honor."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا انْصَرَفَ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ اسْتَغْفَرَ ثَلاَثًا وَقَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ
After saying the taslim the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would say: "Allahumma anta as-salam wa minka as-salam tabarakta ya dhal-jalali wal-ikram (O Allah, You are the source of eace (or the One free from all faults) and from You comes peace, blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor)."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلاَمُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلاَمُ تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ
“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said the Salam, he would sit only for as long as it took to say: ‘Allahumma Antas-Salam wa minkas-salam. Tabarakta ya Dhal-jalali wal- ikram. (O Allah, You are As-Salam, From You is all peace, blessed are You O Possessor of majesty and honour).’”

مَا كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَجْلِسُ بَعْدَ الصَّلَاةِ إِلَّا قَدْرَ مَا يَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , would not sit after prayer except for a short period of time during which he would say, "O Allah, You are the Peace, and from You comes peace. Blessed are You, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor." Abu Abdur Rahman Abu Al-Walid, whose name is Abdullah ibn Al-Harith, narrated this from him. It was narrated by Khalid ibn Mihran Al-Hathha and Asim ibn Sulaiman.

"عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ: اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَامُ، وَمِنْكَ السَّلَامُ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا الجَلَالِ وَالإِكْرَامِ".
"عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُول: اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ السَّلَام وَمِنْكَ السَّلَام تَبَاركْتَ وَتَعَالَيْتَ يَا ذَا الجْلَال وَالإِكْرَام".
