[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ prayed Duhr prayer with his companions and then said, "Who among you has recited Surah Al-A'la (Chapter 87)?" A man said, "I have." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then said, "I knew that a man had been inspired to recite it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prayed one of the evening prayers with us, either Dhuhr or Asr. He asked, "Which one of you recited Surah Al-Ala (Chapter 87) in the prayer?" A man said, "I did." The Prophet Muhammad, ﷺ , said, "I knew that someone had recited it to me."
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prayed the Dhuhr prayer. And when he finished, he said, "Which one of you recited 'SubhanAllahi al-A'la'?" A man said, "I did, O Messenger of Allah." So he said, "I knew that someone amongst you had stepped out of the prayer."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the afternoon prayer, and when he finished, he asked, "Who among you recited the Surah with me?" A man replied, "I did, O Messenger of Allah, and my intention was only good." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "I thought that someone had opposed me in reciting it."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the noon prayer and when he finished, he said, "Which one of you recited 'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High'?" A man from the people said, "I thought that someone else had recited it."
The Prophet ﷺ said, "The people of my generation are the best, then those who follow them, and then whose who follow the latter. After that there will come some people whose witness will go ahead of their oaths, and their oaths will go ahead of their witness." Ibrahim (a sub-narrator) said, "We used to be beaten for taking oaths by saying, 'I bear witness by the Name of Allah or by the Covenant of Allah." (Using translation from Bukhārī 2652)
the best of my people is the generation in which I have been sent, then their immediate followers, then their immediate followers. Allah knows best whether he mentioned the third or not. After them will be people who will give testimony without being asked, who will make vows which they do not fulfill, who will be treacherous and not to be trusted, among whom fatness will appear. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 4657)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best of this Ummah is the century in which I was sent, and then those who follow them," three times, and Allah knows best whether he mentioned the third or not. "Then a generation will come who will testify and will not be testified against, will give warning but will not fulfill [their duty], will betray and will not be trusted, and will spread corruption and vice among them."
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'The best of this Ummah is the century in which I was sent, then those who follow it, and then those who follow them. After that, there will come people who give warnings but do not fulfill them, they will make oaths but not be asked to fulfill them, and they will become fat among them.'"
[Machine] A man bit the hand of another man, causing him to lose his thumb. They both presented their case to the Prophet ﷺ , who said, "No compensation will be paid, for one of you bit the other like a male camel."
[Machine] A man bit another man's hand and forcefully took away the bitten part. He then went to the Prophet and informed him of what had happened. The Prophet declared it invalid.
[Machine] A man bit another on his arm, so he pulled it away and took his complaint to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ invalidated it and said, "Did you want to bite the flesh of your brother, as a stallion bites?"
[Machine] "A man bit another man's hand, so the man pulled his hand away. His thumb swelled up, and the Prophet, ﷺ , treated it."
[Machine] A man bit another man's hand and the hand was removed from him, causing his fingers to fall. He then went to the Prophet ﷺ and he invalidated it, then he said, "One of you eats the flesh of his brother just like a male horse eats or bites."
[Machine] A man bit the arm of another man, and his joint got dislocated. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ invalidated it.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to perform the voluntary prayer of Witr by reciting "Subhan Rabbi al-A'la", which means "Glory be to your Lord, the Most High."
[Machine] "From the Prophet ﷺ that he used to recite in Witr prayer: 'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High' and 'Say: O disbelievers' and 'Say: He is Allah, [who is] One'."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "What my Ummah (community) narrates about themselves is permissible as long as they do not speak or act upon it."

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said, 'O Allah, bless my Ummah in their early mornings.' Whenever he wanted to send a secret expedition, he would do it at dawn."
[Machine] A father made a vow that if his son survives, he will cut off a part of his hair. When the son survived, he sent me to Imran ibn al-Husayn to ask for clarification. Imran advised me to ask my father to either free his son or to pay compensation for breaking the vow, as the Prophet ﷺ encouraged giving charity and discouraged fulfilling vows through such actions. I then went to Samurah and asked him the same question. He gave a similar response, which was narrated by Ma'mar, Hammam, and Qatadah from Al-Hasan, and Hiyaj from Sa'id ibn Abi Arubah. However, Sa'id ibn Abi Arubah and Hammam ibn Yahya held a different opinion.
[Machine] In a boy of his, his father left him with the condition that if he becomes capable, he will cut off part of him or his hand. He became capable, so he set out in a frenzy to 'Imran and asked him about it. 'Imran informed him about his father's statement and said, "Tell your father to expiate his oath or free his slave, and not to cut off part of him. For the Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , used to urge giving in his sermons and prohibit self-mutilation." Then it is narrated that he came to Samurah ibn Jundub and said something similar to what 'Imran said.

[Machine] A boy disobeyed his father, and he made a vow to God that if he were able, he would cut off his hand. When he came to Imran ibn Husain, he told him to tell his father not to do it. "For I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ emphasize in his sermon about charity and he forbade mutilation." Tell your father to make expiation for his oath and overlook his son.

[Machine] "A man divorced without witnesses, then he reconciled without witnesses, so he said, 'He divorced without the waiting period (iddah) and reconciled without the prescribed procedure (sunnah), so let witnesses be present for his divorce and reconciliation.'"
[Machine] There was a man who divorced his wife publicly and then took her back secretly. Imran said, "You divorced her outside of the waiting period (of divorce) and took her back outside of the authorized practice (of taking back the wife). Fear Allah and bear witness."

[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ during one of his journeys when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his voice with these two verses: “O people, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing. On the Day you see it, every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing” (Quran 22:1-2). When we heard that, we held our breath, recognizing that it was something the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was saying. When we gathered around him, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, “Do you know which day that is?” We said, “Allah and His Messenger know better.” He said, “It is the day when Adam will be called and will call his Lord, then Adam will say, ‘Get up and send the Fire.’ Adam will ask, ‘O Lord, how much of the Fire?’ Allah will reply, ‘From every one thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine.’” When they heard this, they became silent until their smiles disappeared. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw their reaction, he smiled and said, “Do your work and rejoice, for, by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you are nothing among people but like a white hair on the flank of a black bull or like a black spot on the leg of a white bull.” They asked, “Who, O Messenger of Allah?” He said, “Gog and Magog and those who perished from among the children of Adam and Iblis.” Then he said, “Do your work and rejoice, for, by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you are among people like a mustard seed on the back of a camel or like a small mark on the foreleg of a donkey.”

[Machine] When this mosque, Masjid Al-Jami, was built, Imran ibn Husayn was sitting there, and they mentioned intercession in his presence. A man from the people said, "O Abu Nujaid, can you tell us about the narrations for which we cannot find a basis in the Quran?" Imran ibn Husayn became angry and said to a man, "Have you read the Quran?" He said, "Yes." He said, "Did you find in it the prayer of Maghrib three Rak'ahs, and the prayer of Isha four Rak'ahs, and the prayer of Fajr two Rak'ahs, and the first prayer four Rak'ahs, and Asr four Rak'ahs?" He said, "No." He said, "Then from whom did you take this matter? Did you take it from us while we took it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ? Have you found in the Quran the amount of forty Dirhams for every Dirham, and the amount of a sheep for every so and so, and the amount of a camel for every so and so?" He said, "No." He said, "Then from whom did you take this? We took it from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and you took it from us. Have you found in the Quran the verse {And let them go around the Ancient House seven times}, and have you found in the Quran {And bow down, along with those who bow down} behind the Station? Did you find this in the Quran? From whom did you take it? Did you take it from us while we took it from the Prophet of Allah ﷺ ? Have you found in the Quran any mention of Jallab, Janab, or Shighar in Islam?" He said, "No." He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'There is no Jallab, Janab, or Shighar in Islam.' Have you not heard Allah say in His Book to a group of people, {What put you into Saqar? They will say: We were not of those who prayed, Nor fed we the poor}? Until He said, {then the intercession of intercessors will not benefit them}." Habib said, "I heard him (the Prophet) say the word intercession."

[Machine] I have debated with the people of destiny until they embarrassed me. Do you have any knowledge to inform me? They said, "If Allah punished the people of the heavens and the earth, He would punish them without being unjust. And if He admitted them into His mercy, His mercy would be greater than their sins. But as He has decreed, He punishes whom He wills and has mercy on whom He wills. So whoever is punished, it is true, and whoever is shown mercy, it is true. And even if you were to spend the equivalent of Uhud mountain in the cause of Allah, it would not be accepted from you until you believe in the entirety of destiny, its good and bad." Then 'Imran said to Abu al-Aswad when he narrated the Hadith, "I heard that from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and Abdullah and Ubayy bin Ka'b heard it with me." So Abu al-Aswad asked them to narrate it to him from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.

[Machine] Imran ibn Husayn narrated to us, saying: We were discussing righteousness in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , and he began to narrate to us. He said: Among the nations before you, there was a man who was deeply devout; his name was Jurayj. He had a mother, who would come and call him in order to honor him and talk to him. One day, she came to him while he was in prayer, facing towards her, and she called him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ narrated that Jurayj put his hand on his forehead, and she continued to call him, raising her head and putting her hand on her forehead, repeating the name "Jurayj" three times, each time repeating it three times. Jurayj said, "My Lord or my prayer?" His mother became angry and said, "O Allah, let Jurayj not die until he sees the faces of the adulterous women." The daughter of the ruler of the town heard this supplication and became pregnant and gave birth to a son. They asked her, "Who did this to you? Who is your companion?" She said, "He is the man of the prayer cell, Jurayj." He did not pay attention to this until he heard people talking about it and accusing him. When he saw this, he took a rope, tied it to a tree, and let them pull it through his nose and beat him, saying, "You are deceiving people with your actions." He said to them, "What is wrong with you?" They said, "You are the one who got the daughter of the ruler pregnant, aren't you?" He said, "What did she do?" They said, "She gave birth to a boy." He asked, "Is the boy alive?" They said, "Yes." He said, "Leave me alone." Then he performed two Rak'ahs of prayer, and when he finished, he walked to a tree and took a branch from it. Then he went to the boy, who was in his cradle, and struck him with that branch, saying, "O tyrant, who is your father?" The boy replied, "My father is so-and-so, the shepherd." They said, "If you wish, we will rebuild your prayer cell with gold, or if you prefer, with silver." He said, "Restore it as it was." Abu Harb claimed that Jurayj did not speak until only three people did so: 'Isa ibn Maryam (Jesus son of Mary), the witness of Yusuf (Joseph), and the companion of Jurayj.
