الْهَلَالُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْعَدَوِيُّ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ

[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ during one of his journeys when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his voice with these two verses: “O people, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing. On the Day you see it, every nursing mother will be distracted from that [child] she was nursing” (Quran 22:1-2). When we heard that, we held our breath, recognizing that it was something the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was saying. When we gathered around him, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, “Do you know which day that is?” We said, “Allah and His Messenger know better.” He said, “It is the day when Adam will be called and will call his Lord, then Adam will say, ‘Get up and send the Fire.’ Adam will ask, ‘O Lord, how much of the Fire?’ Allah will reply, ‘From every one thousand, nine hundred and ninety-nine.’” When they heard this, they became silent until their smiles disappeared. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw their reaction, he smiled and said, “Do your work and rejoice, for, by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you are nothing among people but like a white hair on the flank of a black bull or like a black spot on the leg of a white bull.” They asked, “Who, O Messenger of Allah?” He said, “Gog and Magog and those who perished from among the children of Adam and Iblis.” Then he said, “Do your work and rejoice, for, by the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you are among people like a mustard seed on the back of a camel or like a small mark on the foreleg of a donkey.”

"We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey when some of his Companions fell behind. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his voice reciting these two Ayat: "O mankind! Have Taqwa of your Lord! Verily the earthquake of the hour is a terrible thing..." up to His saying: but Allah's torment is severe (21:1 & 2)." When his Companions heard that, they hastened to catch up with him, since they knew that he had something to say. He ﷺ said: 'Do you know what Day this is? That is the Day when Adam will be called. His Lord will call him and say: O Adam, send forth those who are to be sent to the Fire. He will say: O Lord! How many are to be sent to the Fire? He will say: From every one-thousand there are nine-hundred and ninety-nine for the Fire and one for Paradise. So the people despaired as if they would not smile again. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw the state of his Companions, he said: 'Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, you will be counted with two creations who are immense in numbers; Ya'juj and Ma'juj, and those who have died among the progeny of Adam and the progeny of Iblis.'" He said: "So some of the people's grief went away, and he ﷺ said: 'Strive hard and receive the good news. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad! Among mankind, you are but like the mole on the flank of a camel, or a mark on the foreleg of a beast.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, recited this verse and his companions were with him: "O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [final] Hour is a terrible thing" (Quran 22:1) until the end of the verse. Then he said, "Do you know which day that is?" They said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "That is the day when Allah will say to Adam, 'Arise and send forth the people to the Fire,' or He will say, 'Send forth to the Fire.' Adam will say, 'O Lord, how many are to be sent forth?' Allah will say, 'Out of every thousand, take nine hundred and ninety-nine to the Fire and one to Paradise.' That will be a day of difficulty for the people, and they will fall into despair and sorrow." The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, said, "I hope that you will be one half of the people of Paradise." They rejoiced at this. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Work and be happy, for you are between the two creations - the people of Gog and Magog - and there has never been anyone whom they did not outnumber. Verily, you are like a black hair on a white ox, or like a speck on a pale camel. Indeed, my nation is a portion from among a thousand portions."

Among mankind, you are but like the mole on the flank of a camel, or a mark on the foreleg of a beast.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3169)
