who was born during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ that his mother, Zainab bint Humaid had taken him to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Take his Pledge of allegiance (for Islam)." The Prophet ﷺ said, "He (ʿAbdullah bin Hisham) is a little child," and passed his hand over his head and invoked Allah for him. ʿAbdullah bin Hisham used to slaughter one sheep as a sacrifice on behalf of all of his family.

who was a Companion, reported that his mother Zainab daughter of Humain went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: Messenger of Allah, receive the oath of allegiance from him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He is Minor. He then wiped his head.

[AI] Translation: Abdullah ibn Hisham narrated that the Prophet ﷺ discovered that his mother brought him to him, so he wiped his head and prayed for him. As a result, he would sacrifice one sheep for the sake of his entire family.

عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ وَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «أَنَّ أُمَّهُ أَتَتْ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ وَدَعَا لَهُ» فَكَانَ يُضَحِّي بِالشَّاةِ الْوَاحِدَةِ عَنْ جَمِيعِ أَهْلِهِ

[AI] From his grandfather Abdullah bin Hisham, who had witnessed the Prophet ﷺ , his mother Zainab bint Hameed took him to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he was young. All of these hadiths are authentic in terms of their chains of narrators regarding the permissibility of offering one sheep as a sacrifice on behalf of a group that is too numerous to count, contrary to those who assume that it is only permissible for an individual. There are narrations that indicate the permissibility of offering a sacrifice on behalf of the deceased as well.
