‘Imran b. Hussain asked the prophet ﷺ about the prayer a man offers in sitting condition. He replied: his prayer in standing condition is better than his prayer in sitting condition, and his prayer in sitting condition is half the prayer he offers in standing condition, and his prayer in lying condition is half the prayer he offers in sitting condition.

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلاَةِ الرَّجُلِ قَاعِدًا فَقَالَ صَلاَتُهُ قَائِمًا أَفْضَلُ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ قَاعِدًا وَصَلاَتُهُ قَاعِدًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ قَائِمًا وَصَلاَتُهُ نَائِمًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ قَاعِدًا

"I asked the Prophet ﷺ about one who prays sitting down. He said: 'Whoever prays standing up is better, and one who prays sitting down will have half the reward of one who prays standing up. And whoever prays lying down will have half the reward of one who prays sitting down.'"

سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الَّذِي يُصَلِّي قَاعِدًا قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ وَمَنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَائِمِ وَمَنْ صَلَّى نَائِمًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَاعِدِ

It was narrated from ‘Imran bin Husain that he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a man who prays sitting down. He said, “Whoever performs prayer standing up, that is better. Whoever performs prayer sitting down will have half the reward of one who prays standing. And whoever performs prayer lying down will have half the reward of one who prays sitting.”

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُصَلِّي قَاعِدًا قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ وَمَنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَائِمِ وَمَنْ صَلَّى نَائِمًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَاعِدِ

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet (saw): "The prayer of the sitting person is half of the prayer of the standing person."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came across some people who were praying while sitting due to an illness. He said, "Indeed, the prayer of a person sitting is half the prayer of a person standing."

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى نَاسٍ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ قُعُودًا مِنْ مَرَضٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ صَلَاةَ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "The prayer of the person sitting is half of the prayer of the person standing."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ

[AI] "I was a man with many illnesses, so I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about praying while sitting. He said that your prayer while sitting is equivalent to half of your prayer while standing, and the prayer of a person while lying down is equivalent to half of their prayer while sitting."

كُنْتُ رَجُلًا ذَا أَسَقَامٍ كَثِيرَةٍ فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاتِي قَاعِدًا قَالَ صَلَاتُكَ قَاعِدًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاتِكَ قَائِمًا وَصَلَاةُ الرَّجُلِ مُضْطَجِعًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا

‘Imran b. Hussain asked the prophet ﷺ about the prayer a man offers in sitting condition. أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا مَيْسُورًا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا فَقَالَ «صَلَاتُهُ قَاعِدًا عَلَى نِصْفِ صَلَاتِهِ قَائِمًا»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "The prayer of a person sitting down is equal to half of the prayer of a person standing, and the prayer of a person lying down is equal to half of the prayer of a person sitting down."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ وَصَلَاةُ النَّائِمِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَاعِدِ»

[AI] He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was a well-off man about praying while sitting. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The prayer of the sitting person is half of the prayer of the standing one, and the prayer of the person lying down is half of the prayer of the sitting one."

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا مَيْسُورًا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَاعِدِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ وَصَلَاةُ النَّائِمِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَاعِدِ»

[AI] He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the prayer of a man while sitting, so he said: "His prayer while standing is better, and his prayer while sitting is equivalent to half of his prayer while standing, and his prayer while lying down is equivalent to half of his prayer while sitting."

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ قَاعِدًا فَقَالَ «صَلَاتُهُ قَائِمًا أَفْضَلُ وَصَلَاتُهُ قَاعِدًا عَلَى نِصْفٍ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَائِمًا وَصَلَاتُهُ نَائِمًا عَلَى نِصْفٍ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا»

"صَلاةُ القاعد على النصف من صلاة القائم".

"صَلاَةُ القَاعد عَلى النِّصْفِ منْ صَلاَةِ القَائِم".
