It was narrated from ‘Imran bin Husain that he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a man who prays sitting down. He said, “Whoever performs prayer standing up, that is better. Whoever performs prayer sitting down will have half the reward of one who prays standing. And whoever performs prayer lying down will have half the reward of one who prays sitting.”  

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُصَلِّي قَاعِدًا قَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ وَمَنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَائِمِ وَمَنْ صَلَّى نَائِمًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَاعِدِ  

It was narrated from ‘Imran bin Husain that he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a man who prays sitting down. He said, “Whoever performs prayer standing up, that is better. Whoever performs prayer sitting down will have half the reward of one who prays standing. أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَاعِدِ فَقَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ وَمَنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَائِمِ وَمَنْ صَلَّى نَائِمًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَاعِدِ  

‘Imran b. Hussain asked the prophet ﷺ about the prayer a man offers in sitting condition. He replied: his prayer in standing condition is better than his prayer in sitting condition, and his prayer in sitting condition is half the prayer he offers in standing condition, and his prayer in lying condition is half the prayer he offers in sitting condition. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 951)

It was narrated from ‘Imran bin Husain that he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a man who prays sitting down. He said, “Whoever performs prayer standing up, that is better. Whoever performs prayer sitting down will have half the reward of one who prays standing. أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الصَّلَاةِ قَاعِدًا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «صَلِّ قَائِمًا فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ وَمَنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَائِمِ وَمَنْ صَلَّى نَائِمًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَاعِدِ»  

[Machine] He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the prayer of a man while he is standing and sitting, so he said: "His prayer while sitting is equivalent to half of his prayer while standing."  

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا مَيْسُورًا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ قَائِمًا وَقَاعِدًا فَقَالَ «صَلَاتُهُ قَاعِدًا عَلَى نِصْفِ صَلَاتِهِ قَائِمًا»  

[Machine] He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was a well-off man about praying while sitting. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The prayer of the sitting person is half of the prayer of the standing one, and the prayer of the person lying down is half of the prayer of the sitting one."  

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا مَيْسُورًا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَاعِدِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ وَصَلَاةُ النَّائِمِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَاعِدِ»  

[Machine] He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the prayer of a man while sitting, so he said: "His prayer while standing is better, and his prayer while sitting is equivalent to half of his prayer while standing, and his prayer while lying down is equivalent to half of his prayer while sitting."  

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ قَاعِدًا فَقَالَ «صَلَاتُهُ قَائِمًا أَفْضَلُ وَصَلَاتُهُ قَاعِدًا عَلَى نِصْفٍ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَائِمًا وَصَلَاتُهُ نَائِمًا عَلَى نِصْفٍ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا»  

"صَلاةُ الرجلِ قائِمًا أفضلُ من صَلاتِهِ قَاعِدًا، وصلاتُهُ قاعدًا على النصف من صَلاتِهِ قائِمًا، وصلاتُهُ نائِمًا على النصف من صلاته قاعِدًا".
