ذِكْرُ الْعِلَّةِ الَّتِي مِنْ أَجْلِهَا قَالَ ﷺ هَذَا الْقَوْلَ

[Machine] I heard Abu Al-Qasim peace be upon him say, "It does not please me that anyone owes me gold, and I have a dinar from it that I keep as a debt upon me."  

ابن حبّان:٣٢١٤أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْمِنْهَالِ الضَّرِيرُ حَدَّثَنَا هُدْبَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْقَيْسِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّ أُحُدًا لِي ذَهَبًا يَأْتِي عَلَيَّ ثَلَاثٌ وَعِنْدِي مِنْهُ دِينَارٌ غَيْرَ شَيْءٍ أَرْصُدُهُ فِي دَيْنٍ عَلَيَّ»

Nothing is more delighting to me than this that Uhud should be of gold for me, and no dinar is left with me out of it before three nights pass except a dinar which I would set aside for the repayment of debt upon me.

“I would not like to have (the equivalent of) Uhud in gold, then a third night comes to me and I have anything of it left, except something that I set aside to pay off a debt.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4132)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ عِنْدِي أُحُدًا ذَهَبًا يَأْتِي عَلَيَّ ثَالِثَةٌ وَعِنْدِي مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ إِلَّا شَيْءٌ أَرْصُدُهُ فِي قَضَاءِ دَيْنٍ يَكُونُ عَلَيَّ

[Machine] I heard Abu Al-Qasim ﷺ saying, "What pleases me is to have someone bring me three dirhams but still have a dinar left that I do not need to use for debt."

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا يَسُرُّنِي أَنَّ لِي أُحُدًا ذَهَبًا يَأْتِي عَلَيَّ ثَلَاثٌ وَعِنْدِي مِنْهُ دِينَارٌ لَيْسَ شَيْئًا أَرْصُدُهُ لِدَيْنٍ

[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "By the One in whose hand my soul is, it does not please me that one of you comes to me with no money and stays with me for three days while I have a dinar that I do not spend it on a debt upon myself."
