9. Book of Ṣalāh (22/30)
When any one of you observes prayer in the mosque he should reserve a part of his prayer for his house, for Allah would make the prayer as a means of betterment in his house. (Using translation from Muslim 778)
[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a room made of bricks during Ramadan and prayed in it during the nights. Some of his companions prayed with him. When he came to know about them, he made a gesture to sit and said, "I have come to know about what I saw from your actions. O people, pray in your houses, for the best prayer of a person is in his house except for the obligatory prayers."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque and saw a rope stretched between two pillars. He asked, "What is this?" They said, "It is for Zainab, she prays and when she feels tired or wants to rest, she holds onto it." He said, "Remove it." Then he said, "Let one of you pray as long as his energy lasts, and if he feels tired or wants to rest, let him sit down."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) entered the mosque and saw a rope stretched between two pillars, so he asked "What is this?". They said, "It is for so-and-so woman who prays, and when she gets tired, she holds on to it." The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said, "Let her make her prayer as long as she is focused and attentive. But if she fears that she might be overwhelmed, then let her shorten it."
The Prophet ﷺ said: Prayer by night and day should consist of pairs of rak'ahs. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1295)
“When anyone of you enters the mosque, let him not sit down until he performs two Rak’ah.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1012)
The Apostle of Allah ﷺ owed me a debt; he paid me back and made an addition (of this). I entered the mosque and he (the Holy Prophet) said to me: Observe two rak'ahs of prayer. (Using translation from Muslim 715a)
Abu Qatadah reported the Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him) as saying; when any one of you enters the mosque, he should pray two RAKAHS before sitting down. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 467)
“When one of you enters the mosque, let him perform two Rak’ah before he sits down.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1013)
“When one of you enters the mosque, let him perform two Rak’ah before he sits down.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1013)
[Machine] Jabir said, "Sulayk entered the mosque while the Prophet ﷺ was delivering a sermon, so he commanded him to perform two units of prayer."
[Machine] A man entered the mosque and the Prophet ﷺ was delivering the Friday sermon. He said to him, "Pray two quick voluntary units of prayer before you sit down."
Sulaik Ghatafani came on Friday when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the sermon. He (Sulaik) sat down. He (the Holy Prophet) said to him: 0 Sulaik I stand and observe two rak'ahs and make them short, and then said: When any one of you comes on Friday, while the Imam delivers the sermon, he should observe two rak'ahs and should make them short. (Using translation from Muslim 875g)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to interact with us frequently, to the point that he would even say to his younger brother, "O Abu Umair, how is An-Nughayr?" And when the time for prayer came, we spread out a mat for him, and he prayed on it while we lined up behind him.
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not pass away until his most frequent prayer was while he was sitting, and the most beloved action to him was whatever the servant persistently did, even if it was small."
that she said, "I never saw the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ pray his supererogatory prayers while sitting; until a year before his passing when he would his supererogatory prayers while sitting and reciting the sūrah in ˹such a slow˺ measured manner that it became longer than his ˹usual˺ longer ones." (Using translation from Aḥmad 26441)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to pray while sitting after he reached old age. When there were 30 verses remaining from the surah, he would stand up and recite them, then he would perform the rukoo' (bowing).
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray standing at night for a long time, and used to pray sitting at night for a long time. When he prayed standing, he bowed standing, and when he prayed sitting, he bowed sitting. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 955)
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray standing and sitting. If he started to pray standing, he would bow standing and if he started to pray sitting, he would bow sitting." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1647)
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ was sitting in a reclining position."
It was narrated from ‘Imran bin Husain that he asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about a man who prays sitting down. He said, “Whoever performs prayer standing up, that is better. Whoever performs prayer sitting down will have half the reward of one who prays standing. And whoever performs prayer lying down will have half the reward of one who prays sitting.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1231)
[Machine] I asked her, "With what did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to begin when he entered upon you and when he left from you?" She replied, "He used to begin by using the tooth stick (Siwak) when he entered, and when he left, he would perform two Rak'ahs (units) of prayer."
[Machine] "A man entered the mosque on Friday and the Prophet ﷺ was on the pulpit. The Prophet ﷺ called him and ordered him to pray two units of prayer. Then he entered for the second Friday prayer while the Prophet ﷺ was on the pulpit. The Prophet ﷺ called him and ordered him to pray two units of prayer. Then he entered for the third Friday prayer, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on the pulpit. The Prophet ﷺ called him and ordered him to pray two units of prayer."
[Machine] Sulayk entered the mosque on Friday, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was giving a sermon to the people. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Sulayk, "Perform two units of prayer and do not repeat them like this." Sulayk performed the two units of prayer and then sat down.
[Machine] A man entered the mosque on Friday and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was on the pulpit. He called him and instructed him to pray two rak'ahs, then he said, "Give in charity." So they gave in charity, and he ﷺ gave him two garments from what they had given in charity. Then he said, "Give in charity." So he took off one of the garments and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ disliked what he did and said, "Look at this person who entered the mosque wearing a garment, so I hoped that you would pay attention to him and give charity to him, but you did not do that. So I said, 'Give in charity.' So they gave him two garments. Then I said, 'Give in charity.' So he took off one of the garments. Take your garment back." And he scolded him.

I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying (Nafl prayer) on a donkey's back while his face was turned towards Khaibar. (Using translation from Muslim 700e)
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on an errand then I came back to him while he was praying. I greeted him with the salam and he gestured to me. When he finished he called me and said: 'You greeted me with Salam just now and I was praying.' And he was facing toward the east that day." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1189)
[Machine] He heard Ibn Umar say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray on his mount wherever it turned in the journey."
[Machine] He said, "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, and he sent me on a mission. So, I came to him while he was walking, and I greeted him, and he nodded with his hand. Then, I greeted him again, and he gestured but did not speak to me. Then, he called me later and said, 'I was performing a voluntary prayer.'"
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me on an errand, then I came back to him while he was facing the east or the west. I greeted him with salam and he gestured to me. Then when he finished he called me and said: "O Jabir!" So I came and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I greeted you with Salam but you did not answer." He said: 'I was praying.' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1190)
[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying on a riding animal towards the east in the Battle of Anmar."
[Machine] "We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in a battle, and he used to pray voluntary prayers on his mount facing the east. When he wanted to pray the obligatory prayers, he would dismount and face the Qibla."
[Machine] I saw the Prophet ﷺ praying on his riding animal during travel, making a movement with his head as he was on a pulpit.
[Machine] He heard Jabir saying, "I saw the Prophet ﷺ praying on his mount and he was praying the supererogatory prayers on every side, but he would lower his head in prostration for the two prostrations of each unit of prayer by nodding."

9.23 [Machine] A chapter about the Duha prayer
[Machine] I asked Aisha, "Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray Duha (forenoon prayer)?" She replied, "No, unless he returned from a journey."
I asked 'A'isha whether the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to observe the forenoon prayer. She said: No, but when he came back from the journey. (Using translation from Muslim 717a)
[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ used to only pray the Duha (forenoon) prayer after his absence had passed."
“I asked ‘Aishah: ‘Did the Prophet ﷺ pray Duha?’ She said: ‘Yes; four (Rak’ah) and he would add whatever Allah willed.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1381)
[Machine] Hafsah, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, said, "I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying while sitting until a year before his death. Then I saw him praying while sitting and reciting the Surah until its length became greater than the length he used to recite."
[Machine] The translation of the phrase "دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَيْتِي فَصَلَّى الضُّحَى ثَمَانَ رَكَعَاتٍ" into English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered my house and performed eight units of the Dhuha prayer."
[Machine] Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, used to say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never used to recite the Duha prayer." But Aisha used to recite it and she used to say, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left many acts of worship out of fear that people would consider them obligatory upon them."
Messenger of Allah narrated that Allah, Blessed and Most High said: "Son of Adam: Perform four Rak'ah for Me in the beginning of the day it will suffice you for the latter part of it." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 475)
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, from his Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, that He said: "O son of Adam, pray four units of prayer for Me at the beginning of the day, and I will suffice you till the end of it.”
[Machine] The Messenger of Allahﷺ sent a mission and said, "Hasten to collect the spoils and be quick in gathering the troops." A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah, we have never seen a mission that is quicker and has greater spoils than this one." The Prophetﷺ said, "Shall I inform you of a mission that is faster and has greater spoils than this? It is a man who performs ablution in his house, perfects his ablution, and then goes to the mosque to perform the morning prayer, and follows it with the Dhuha prayer. This is faster and has greater spoils."
"My dearest friend advised me (to do) three things: 'To sleep after praying Witr, to fast three days each month, and to pray two rak'ahs of Fajr.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1677)
[Machine] "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the Year of Victory, so I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have performed the Hajj and my cousin claims that Ali fought against him.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'We have rewarded those who merited reward, O Umm Hani.' She said, 'The Messenger of Allah then poured water and performed ablution, and then he put on a garment and covered himself with it, and he prayed eight units of Dhuha prayer.'"
[Machine] Prophet Muhammad ﷺ recited the morning prayer beads (tasbih) and I did not find anyone to inform me about it except Umm Hani bint Abi Talib, who informed me that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ came after sunrise on the day of the conquest, ordered for a garment to cover himself, performed ablution, then stood and performed eight units of prayer. I do not know if his standing, bowing, or prostration were longer. All of that was done consecutively. She said, "I have never seen him perform these prayer beads before or after that."
[Machine] "He saw a group of people praying the Duha prayer in Masjid Quba, so he said, 'They have learned that praying at a time other than this hour is better. Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ said, 'The prayer of the devout believers is when the camels young ones lose their tails."
