Many a person with disheveled hair and covered with dust is turned away from the doors (whereas he is held in such a high esteem by Allah) that if he were to adjure in the name of Allah (about anything) Allah would fulfil that. (Using translation from Muslim 2622)

[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , "There was a man among the children of Israel who used to lend money to people. One day, a man came to him and asked, 'O So-and-So, lend me six hundred dinars.' The man replied, 'Yes, I will lend you the money, but only if you bring me a guarantor.' The man said, 'Allah is my guarantor.' To this, the lender said, 'Glory be to Allah, yes, I accept Allah as my guarantor.' So he gave the man six hundred dinars and set a deadline for repayment. The borrower took the money and embarked on a sea journey to trade with it. However, it was decreed by Allah that the deadline passed and the sea created a barrier between them. The one who loaned the money returned to the shore, and people started asking him about the borrower. He replied, 'We left him at such and such place.' The person in charge of the money prayed, 'O Allah, cause him to come back to me with the wealth You gave him.' The man with the money then carved a piece of wood, placed the money inside it, wrote a letter from one person to another, stating, 'I entrusted your money to my guarantor,' closed the wooden box with his mouth and threw it into the middle of the sea. He kept making his way down the sea until he threw it onto the shore. The person in charge of the money came to the shore, found the wooden box, carried it, went to his people and said, 'Burn this, for I have found the thing we entrusted to our guarantor.' They broke it open and found the wealth and the letter. They understood the situation, and the borrower came and repaid his debt."

Abu Hurairah added, "We often argued and debated among ourselves in the presence of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about who among us was the most trustworthy.

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "While a woman was breastfeeding her child, a rider passed by her. She asked Allah not to let her son die until he becomes like this rider. She then asked Allah not to make her like him. Then the rider went back to his original state and passed by a cursed woman. She asked Allah not to make her son like her. Then she asked Allah to make her like her. As for the rider, he was a disbeliever, and as for the woman, they accused her of adultery, but she said, 'Allah is sufficient for me.' They accused her of stealing, but she said, 'Allah is sufficient for me.'"

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Only three spoke in the cradle: Jesus, son of Mary, and the companion of Jurayj. Jurayj was a man among the Children of Israel, called Jurayj. He built a hermitage and worshipped Allah in it. One day, his mother came and called him, but he did not respond to her. Then she came to him a second day, and called him, but he did not respond to her. Then she came to him a third day, and said, 'My prayer and my mother, O Allah, do not let him die until he has seen the faces of the adulteresses.' Then, the children of Israel gathered one day, and spoke ill of Jurayj. They said, 'If you want us to think well of him, test him.' They said, 'We have already thought about it.' So she went and appeared before Jurayj, but he did not respond to her. Then she went to a shepherd who used to seek shelter in the hermitage of Jurayj with his sheep, and she tempted him. She became pregnant and gave birth to a boy. She said, 'He is from Jurayj.' So some people from the Children of Israel came and beat him, insulted him, and condemned his hermitage. He asked them, 'What is your problem?' They said, 'You fornicated with this woman, and she gave birth to a child.' He said, 'Where is the child?' They said, 'Here he is.'"

[Machine] While a shepherd was grazing his herd in the pasture, a wolf appeared and approached one of the sheep from the flock. The shepherd quickly rushed over, snatched it away from the wolf, and said to the shepherd, "Do you not fear Allah? Will you not have faith that Allah will provide for me?" The shepherd responded, "I am amazed by the wolf! It is speaking to me like a human! The wolf said to the shepherd, "Shall I not tell you something even more amazing? This is the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , between the two deserts, conveying the message of what has happened in the past." The shepherd then took his herd to the city and offered them in a corner. He then went to the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , and informed him of what the wolf had said. The Messenger of Allah came out and said to the shepherd, "Get up and tell the people." The shepherd then informed the people about what the wolf had said. The Messenger of Allah then said, "The shepherd is truthful. Indeed, one of the signs of the Last Hour is that the animals will speak like humans. By the One who holds my life in His hand, the Hour will not come until the animals speak like humans, and a man speaks to his shoe and his whip, and they inform him of things that happened in his absence."

They are dead and their bodies have decayed. Thereupon he (the Holy Prophet) said: By Him in Whose Hand is my life, what I am saying to them, even you cannot hear more distinctly than they, but they lack the power to reply. I heard ‘Ali ؓ say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me, az-Zubair and al-Miqdad, and he said: “Go to the garden of Khakh, where you will find a woman riding a camel with whom there is a letter, and take it from her.” We set out with our horses galloping, until we reached that garden, and there we found the woman. We said: Give us the letter. She said: I do not have any letter. We said: Either you give us the letter or we will remove your clothes. So she brought it out from her braided hair, and we took it and brought it to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and in it (was written): From Hatib bin Abi Baltaʿah to some of the mushrikeen of Makkah, telling them about some of the plans of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿO Hatib, what is this?ʿ He said: Do not be hasty in judging me, O Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I am a man who was attached to Quraish but I was one of them. The Muhajireen who are with you have relatives who will protect their families in Makkah, and I wanted, as i have no blood ties among them, to do them a favour so that they would protect my family. I did not do it out of kufr or because I apostatized from my religion, or because I approved of Kufr after becoming Muslim. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ʿHe has told you the truth.ʿ ʿUmar ؓ said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, let me strike the neck of this hypocrite. He said: “He was present at Badr, and you do not know, perhaps Allah looked upon the people of Badr and said: ʿDo what you wish, for I have forgiven you.ʿ (Using translation from Aḥmad 600)

The people plucked ten bunches of grapes and he said to the woman, 'Count what comes out of it until I return to you.' So he continued until he reached Tabuk and said, 'Tonight a very strong wind will come to you, so no one should stand in it. And whoever has a camel, let him tie its reins.' A very strong wind blew, and no one stood in it except for one man whom it threw into the mount of Tayy. The king of Ayilah came to him and gave him a white mule and dressed him in the Messenger of Allah's cloak. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ returned and came to the Valley of Qura, he said to the woman, 'How much has your garden produced?' She said, 'Ten bunches.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ plucked them, then he said, 'Indeed, I am in a hurry, so whoever among you wants to hurry with me, let him do so.' He continued until he reached Madinah and said, 'This is Tayyibah or Tabah.' When he saw Uhud, he said, 'This is a mountain that loves us and we love it.' If they had seen you, they would have attacked and killed you. There is not a single one among them who does not know his share of your blood.' He said, 'O my daughter, bring me some water for ablution.' So he performed ablution and entered the mosque. When they saw him, they said, 'There he is! There he is!' They lowered their gazes and their faces fell into their chests. They did not raise their eyes to look at him and not a single man among them stood up for him. I replied, "Yes, but I am a trusted person." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Bring me a sheep that has not been impregnated by a male." So, I brought him a female sheep and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ tied it up. Then he began to touch its udders and supplicate until the milk flowed. Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, came to him with something and the Prophet ﷺ milked it into it. Then he said to Abu Bakr, "Drink." Abu Bakr drank from it, and then the Prophet ﷺ drank after him. Then he said to the sheep, "Contract." And it contracted and returned to normal. Then I went to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, teach me from this speech or from this Quran." He wiped my head and said ﷺ, "Indeed, you are a taught boy." He said, "I have taken from him seventy surahs that no human disputes with me about."

[Machine] We were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey when a Bedouin approached. When he got close, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Where do you intend to go?" He replied, "To my family." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked, "Do you have any good with you?" He asked, "What is it?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partners, and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger." The Bedouin asked, "Is there anyone who can testify to what you are saying?" The Prophet ﷺ said, "This camel." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called the camel, and it came to him crawling on its knees until it was in front of him. He then made it testify three times that what he said was true. Afterward, the camel returned to its place, and the Bedouin returned to his people saying, "If they follow me, I have brought them; otherwise, I will return to you, and I was with you."

So they built him a pulpit with two steps. When he stood on the pulpit to deliver the sermon, the wooden pillar longed for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . Anas said, "I was in the mosque and I heard the wooden pillar longing like a young child until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came down to it and embraced it, and it became calm." Hasan used to cry when he narrated this Hadith and then say, "O servants of Allah! The wooden pillar longs eagerly for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ out of its desire for his place near Allah. [Machine] "When the chapter {Perished be the hands of Abu Lahab} was revealed, the wife of Abu Lahab came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with Abu Bakr. When Abu Bakr saw her, he said, "O Messenger of Allah, she is a reprehensible woman, and I fear that she may harm you. If you allow me, I will leave." The Prophet replied, "She will not see me." So she came and said to Abu Bakr, "Your companion insults me." Abu Bakr said, "No, he does not speak poetry." She said, "You are known to be his supporter." Then she left. So I said, "O Messenger of Allah, why did you not move away?" He replied, "No, for an angel has been shielding me from her with his wings."

O, it is you; you have grown young. May you not advance in years! That slave-girl returned to Umm Sulaim weeping. Umm Sulaim said: O daughter, what is the matter with you? She said: Allah's Apostle ﷺ has invoked curse upon me that I should not grow in age and thus I would never grow in age, or she said, in my (length) of life. Umm Sulaim went out wrapping her head-dress hurriedly until she met Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said to her: Umm Sulaim, what is the matter with you? She said: Allah's Apostle, you invoked curse upon my orphan girl. He said: Umm Sulaim, what is that? She said: She (the orphan girl) states you have cursed her saying that she might not grow in age or grow in life. Messenger of Allah ﷺ smiled and then said: Umm Sulaim, don't you know that I have made this term with my Lord. And the term with my Lord is that I said to Him: 1 am a human being and I am pleased just as a human being is pleased and I lose temper just as a human being loses temper, so for any person from amongst my Ummah whom I curse and he in no way deserves it, let that, O Lord, be made a source of purification and purity and nearness to (Allah) on the Day of Resurrection. [Machine] We traveled from Makkah to Medina with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. My camel became exhausted, so I left it behind and went ahead to lead it. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delayed because of a need, but he caught up with me and said, "Why did you separate?" I said, "O Messenger of Allah, only because my camel is unable to proceed, and I intended to join the people." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took hold of its reins, hit it, and scolded it, then he said, "Mount." I said, "I have indeed seen you after that, and I was, indeed, holding it back from the people." Then we descended at a place near Medina, and I wanted to hurry to my family, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Do not take a shortcut to your family." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have just concluded a marriage contract." He said, "Have you not married a virgin?" I said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah, but she is too young for me to play with her, and she is too young to play with me." He remained silent and did not say anything good or bad. Then he said, "By the way, your camel, this camel of yours." I said, "No, it belongs to you, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "No, it belongs to both of us." I said, "It is yours, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "No, it belongs to both of us." I said, "Yes, it is for you, in return for the two gold rings." He said, "I have taken it, so continue on it to Medina." When I arrived in Medina, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Bilal, "Give him two gold rings and increase it." So he gave me two gold rings and added one more carat. I said, "Do not leave me without the extra from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." He replied, "It is in my bag, and the people of Sham took it on the day of Uhud."

I went out with Messenger of Allah ﷺ on an expedition, but my camel delayed me. Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me and said to me: Jabir, I said: Yes. Messenger of Allah, (here I am at your beck and call) He said: What is the matter with you? I said: My camel has delayed me and is tired, so I have lagged behind. He (the Holy Prophet) got down and goaded it with a crooked stick and then said: Mount it. So I mounted and (to my great surprise) I saw it (moving so quickly that) I had to restrain it (from going ahead of) Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He (the Holy Prophet) (in the course of journey said to me): Have you married? I said: Yes. He (again) said: Is it with a virgin or one previously married? I said. With one previously married, whereupon he (again) said: Why not with a young girl with whom you could sport and she could have sported with you? I said: I have sisters, so I preferred to marry a woman who could keep them together (as one family). who could comb them and look after them. He said: You are about to go (to your house), and there you have the enjoyment (of the wife's company). He again said: Do you want to sell your camel? I said: Yes. So he bought it from me for one u'qiya (of silver), Then Messenger of Allah ﷺ arrived (at Medina) and I arrived in the evening. I went to the mosque and found him at the door of the mosque, and said: Is it now that you have arrived? I said: Yes, He said: Leave your camel, and enter (the mosque) and offer two rak'ahs. So I entered and offered two rak'ahs of prayer, and then returned. He (the Holy Prophet) then commanded Bilal to weigh out one 'uqiya (of silver) tor me. Bilal weighed that out for me (lowering the scale of) balance. So I proceeded and as I turned my back he said: Call for me, Jabir. So I was called back, and I said (to myself): He would return me the camel, and nothing was more displeasing to me than this (that after having received the price I should also get the camel). He said: Take your camel and keep its price with you, (also). (Using translation from Muslim 715i)

[Machine] He used to ride his camel, which had become weak, so he wanted to let it rest. Then the Prophet ﷺ caught up with me and prayed for him and struck him. Then he walked, and his walk was not like any other. He said, "Bid'ni bi'uqiyyah" (command it with a stick). I said, "No." Then he said, "Bid'ni bi'uqiyyah." I said, "No." Then he said, "Bid'ni bi'uqiyyah." So I sent him with a stick and exempted him from carrying the load to my family. When I arrived, he said to me ﷺ , "Do you see me? Haven't I asked you to take your camel and money? They are for you."

We fought by the side of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at Hunain. When we encountered the enemy, I advanced and ascended a hillock. A man from the enemy side turned towards me and I shot him with an arrow. He (ducked and) hid himself from me. I could not understand what he did, but (all of a sudden) I saw that a group of people appeared from the other hillock. They and the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ met in combat, but the Companions of the Prophet turned back and I too turned back defeated. I had two mantles, one of which I was wrapping round the waist (covering the lower part of my body) and the other I was putting around my shoulders. My waist-wrapper got loose and I held the two mantles together. (In this downcast condition) I passed by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who was riding on his white mule. He said: The son of Akwa' finds himself to be utterly perplexed. Wher. the Companions gathered round him from all sides. the Messenger of Allah ﷺ got down from his mule. picked up a handful of dust from the ground, threw it into their (enemy) faces and said: May these faces be deformed 1 There was no one among the enemy whose eyes were not filled with the dust from this handful. So they turned back fleeing. and Allah the Exalted and Glorious defeated them, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ distributed their booty among the Muslims. (Using translation from Muslim 1777)

[Machine] A man from the Bani 'Amir came to the Prophet ﷺ as if he were a doctor, treating and healing. He said, "O Muhammad, you say things, can I treat you?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ called him to Allah and then said, "Can I show you a miracle?" There were palm trees and other trees nearby, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called one of the dates from them. It came to him while he was bowing, raising his head, bowing, and raising his head, until it reached him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then stood in front of him and said, "Go back to your place." [Machine] We accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until we reached a spacious valley. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to relieve himself and I followed him with a container of water. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked around and didn't find anything to cover himself with. Then, he saw two trees on the edge of the valley and he went to one of them and took hold of one of its branches saying, "Come to me with the permission of Allah." The branch moved towards him like the obedient camel whose reins are pulled by its rider until the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reached the other tree and took hold of one of its branches saying the same words. The branches followed him until they met in the middle. He said, "Come together with the permission of Allah," and the branches joined together. Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I left to fetch a stone in fear that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ may sense my presence and move away. I sat down and suddenly I felt something approaching. It was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ facing towards me, and the two trees had already separated. Each tree stood on one leg." Jabir continued, "Then I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ move his head to the right and left, and then he approached me and said, 'O Jabir, did you see where I stood?' I said, 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Go to the two trees and cut a branch from each of them. Then come to me and when you have reached my position, throw the branches to my right and left.' Jabir said, 'So I took a stone, broke it into pieces, went to the two trees, cut a branch from each of them, and then went back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . When I reached his position, I threw the branches to his right and left.' Then, I asked him, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have done as you instructed. What is the reason behind this?' He said, 'While passing by two graves, I saw their occupants being punished. So, through my intercession, I asked Allah to lighten their punishment as long as these branches are moist.' Then, we reached a military encampment and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'O Jabir, call for ablution.' I said, 'But O Messenger of Allah, I haven't found even a drop of water.' There was a man from the Ansar who would cool water for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in his jugs. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Go to so-and-so from the Ansar and see if there is any water left in his jugs.' I went to him and checked, but all I found was a drop in an isolated corner of the jug, too little even to sip. So, I returned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, 'O Messenger of Allah, I couldn't find anything in the jugs except for a drop in an isolated corner, too little even to sip.'

"During the night, the Muslims heard the Messenger of Allah standing and calling out at the well of badr; 'O Abu Jahl bin Hisham! O Shaaibh bin Rabiah! O 'Utbah bin Rabiah! O Umayyah bin Khalaf! Have you found what your Lord promised to be true? For I have found what my Lord promised me to be true.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, are you calling out to people who have turned into rotten corpses?' He said: 'You do not hear what I say any better than they do, but they cannot answer.'" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ neither recited the Qur'an to the Jinn nor did he see them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out with some of his Companions with the intention of going to the bazaar of 'Ukaz And there had been (at that time) obstructions between satans and the news from the Heaven, and there were flung flames upon them. So satan went back to their people and they said: What has happened to you? They said: There have been created obstructions between us and the news from the Heaven. And there have been flung upon us flames. They said: It cannot happen but for some (important) event. So traverse the eastern parts of the earth and the western parts and find out why is it that there have been created obstructions between us and the news from the Heaven. So they went forth and traversed the easts of the earth and its wests. Some of them proceeded towards Tihama and that is a nakhl towards the bazaar of 'Ukaz and he (the Holy Prophet) was leading his Companions in the morning prayer. So when they heard the Qur'an. they listened to it attentively and said: It is this which has caused obstruction between us and news from the Heaven. They went back to their people and said: O our people, we have heard a strange Qur'an which directs us to the right path; so we affirm our faith in it and we would never associate anyone with our Lord. And Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, revealed to His Apostle Muhammad ﷺ:" It has been revealed to me that a party of Jinn listened to it" (Qur'an, lxxii. 1). (Using translation from Muslim 449)

[Machine] I asked Alqamah ibn Qays, "Did Ibn Mas'ud witness the night of the jinn with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He replied, "I asked Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, 'Did any of you witness the night of the jinn with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?' He said, 'No, but we were with him one night and lost track of him. We spent the night in fear until he returned to us from the direction of Hira and said, "Indeed, the caller of the jinn came to me, so I went with him and recited the Quran to them." Then he went until we could see their fires and traces, so they asked him about provisions. He said, "For you, every bone that has the name of Allah mentioned upon it is more abundant in sustenance than meat, and every droppings is fodder for your animals." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not clean yourselves with them, as they are the food of your jinn brothers."' "

He said, "I was surprised by it, and I am one of the last companions of the Prophet ﷺ , as if we did not remove a single date from it."

[Machine] During the Battle of Tabuk, the people were afflicted with famine. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, if you allow us, we will slaughter our camels and eat them." The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said to them, "You may do so." Then Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, came and said, "O Messenger of Allah, if they do so, it will decrease our strength. Rather, allow them based on their extra provisions, and then invoke blessings upon those provisions so that Allah may put blessings in them." The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , then called for a container and I spread it out. Then he called for their extra provisions and said, "Let each person bring a handful of wheat, a handful of dates, and a handful of barley." They gathered on the container and it was a small amount. Then the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , invoked blessings upon it and said, "Take what is in your containers." They took from their containers until they left no container in the camp unfilled. They ate until they were full and there was still some left over. The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I am the Messenger of Allah. No servant will meet Allah with these two statements without any doubt but he will be admitted to Paradise."

[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ stayed in Mecca during the time of the noon prayer, he learned that the people of Quraysh were saying that the companions of Muhammad ﷺ had gathered weak and frivolous individuals. The Prophet's companions said, "O Prophet of Allah, if we were to slaughter from our livestock, eat their meat and fat, and make soup from their broth, we would have enough for the morning when we attack them. We would also have bows and arrows to use." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "No, but bring me what provisions you have left." So they brought him their remaining provisions and he spread them out. Then they poured onto them what was left of their own provisions. The Prophet ﷺ supplicated for blessings upon them and they ate until they were full. They then filled their bags with the remaining provisions and set out towards the enemy. The Prophet ﷺ said to them, "May you not see any harm." The Prophet ﷺ and his companions made three circuits and walked four [times] between Safa and Marwa. The polytheists were at Al-Hijr and near the house of Al-Nadwah. When the companions of the Prophet ﷺ disappeared from sight between Al-Ruknayn (Yemeni and Aswad corners), they walked and then appeared to the polytheists.
