[Machine] "I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with dates that I had arranged in my hands, and I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, pray for blessings in these dates for me.' So he prayed for blessings in them and said, 'When you want to take something, put your hand in and do not scatter it.' Abu Hurairah said, 'So I carried some of those dates in this way and that way and gave them as water in the cause of Allah. We would eat from it and feed others, and it continued to suffice me until the nights of Uthman ceased.'"  

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِتَمَرَاتٍ قَدْ صَفَفْتُهُنَّ فِي يَدَيَّ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ادْعُ لِي فِيهِنَّ بِالْبَرَكَةِ فَدَعَا لِي فِيهِنَّ بِالْبَرَكَةِ وَقَالَ «إِذَا أَرَدْتَ أَنْ تَأْخُذَ شَيْئًا فَأَدْخِلْ يَدَكَ وَلَا تَنْثُرْهُ نَثْرًا» قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ «فَحَمَلْتُ مِنْ ذَلِكَ التَّمْرِ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَسْقًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَكُنَّا نَطْعَمُ مِنْهُ وَنُطْعِمُ وَكَانَ فِي حِقْوِي حَتَّى انْقَطَعَ مِنِّي لَيَالِيَ عُثْمَانَ»  

[Machine] Abu Huraira came to me for three days in which I did not have any food. So, I went seeking the Prophet's company. I started falling down, and the children started calling me crazy. Abu Huraira said, "I called out to them, saying, 'No, you are the crazy ones!' until we reached the company of the Prophet. He agreed to summon some food, and a dish of tharid was brought. The people of the company were eating from it, so I waited for them to invite me. When the people got up, there was nothing left in the dish except some pieces on the sides of the dish. The Prophet gathered them, making it into a mouthful, and placed it on his fingers. Then, he said to me, 'Eat in the name of Allah.' By the one in whose hand my soul is, I kept eating from it until I was full.  

أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ أَتَتْ عَلَيَّ ثَلَاثَةُ أَيَّامٍ لَمْ أَطْعَمْ فِيهَا طَعَامًا فَجِئْتُ أُرِيدُ الصُّفَّةَ فَجَعَلْتُ أَسْقُطُ فَجَعَلَ الصِّبْيَانُ يُنَادُونَ جُنَّ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ فَجَعَلْتُ أُنَادِيهِمْ وَأَقُولُ بَلْ أَنْتُمُ الْمَجَانِينُ حَتَّى انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى الصُّفَّةِ فَوَافَقْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةٍ مِنْ ثَرِيدٍ فَدَعَا عَلَيْهَا أَهْلَ الصُّفَّةِ وَهُمْ يَأْكُلُونَ مِنْهَا فَجَعَلْتُ أَتَطَاوَلُ كَيْ يَدْعُوَنِي حَتَّى قَامَ الْقَوْمُ وَلَيْسَ فِي الْقَصْعَةِ إِلَّا شَيْءٌ فِي نَوَاحِي الْقَصْعَةِ فَجَمَعَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَصَارَتْ لُقْمَةً فَوَضَعَهَا عَلَى أَصَابِعِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ لِي «كُلْ بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ» فَوَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ مَا زِلْتُ آكُلُ مِنْهَا حَتَّى شَبِعْتُ  

I felt some feebleness in the voice of Messenger of Allah ﷺ and perceived that it was due to hunger; so have you anything with you? She said: Yes. She brought out barley loaves, then took out a head-covering of hers, in a part of which she wrapped those loaves and then put them beneath my mantle and covered me with a part of it. She then sent me to Messenger of Allah ﷺ. I set forth and found Messenger of Allah ﷺ sitting in the mosque in the company of some persons. I stood near them, whereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Has Abu Talha sent you? I said, Yes. He said: Is it for a feast? I said. Yes. Thereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to'those who were with him to get up He went forth and so I did before them, until I came to Abu Talha and informed him. Abu Talba said: Umm Sulaim, here comes Messenger of Allah ﷺ along with people and we do not have enough (food) to feed them. She said: Allah and His Messenger know best. Abu Talha went out (to receive him) Until he met Messenger of Allah ﷺ and Allah's Apostle ﷺ came forward along with him until they both (Messenger of Allah, along with Abu Talha) came in. Then Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Umm Sulaim. bring forth that which you have with you. She brought the bread. Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded that the bread be broken into small pieces, and when Umm Sulaim had squeezed a small waterskin and put seasoning on it, Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited something regarding it what Allah wished him to say. He then said: Allow ten (guests to come in and have their meals). He permitted them; they ate until they had their fill. They then went out. He (the Holy Prophet) again said: Permit ten (more) and he (the host gave permission to them. They ate until they had enough. Then they went out. he again said: Permit ten (more) until all the people had eaten to their fill, and they were seventy or eighty persons. (Using translation from Muslim 2040a)  

سَمِعْتُ صَوْتَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ ضَعِيفًا أَعْرِفُ مِنْهُ الْجُوعَ فَهَلْ عِنْدَكَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ؟ قَالَتْ نَعَمْ فَأَخْرَجَتْ أَقْرَاصًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ ثُمَّ أَخَذَتْ خِمَارًا لَهَا فَلَفَّتِ الْخُبْزَ بِبَعْضِهِ ثُمَّ دَسَّتْهُ تَحْتَ يَدَيَّ وَرَدَّتْنِي بِبَعْضِهِ ثُمَّ أَرْسَلَتْنِي إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَذَهَبْتُ بِهِ فَوَجَدْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ جَالِسًا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَمَعَهُ النَّاسُ فَقُمْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَرْسَلَكَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ؟ » قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ قَالَ «لِلطَّعَامِ؟ » فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِمَنْ مَعَهُ «قُومُوا» قَالَ فَانْطَلَقُوا وَانْطَلَقْتُ بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ حَتَّى جِئْتُ أَبَا طَلْحَةَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُ فَقَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ قَدْ جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالنَّاسِ وَلَيْسَ عِنْدَنَا مَا نُطْعِمُهُمْ فَقَالَتِ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَانْطَلَقَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ حَتَّى لَقِيَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَقْبَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَعَهُ حَتَّى دَخَلَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هَلُمِّي مَا عِنْدَكِ يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ» فَأَتَتْ بِذَلِكَ الْخُبْزِ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَفُتَّ وَعَصَرَتْ عَلَيْهِ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ عُكَّةً فَآدَمَتْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ ثُمَّ قَالَ «ائْذَنْ لِعَشَرَةٍ» فَأَذِنَ لَهُمْ فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا ثُمَّ خَرَجُوا ثُمَّ قَالَ «ائْذَنْ لِعَشَرَةٍ» فَأَذِنَ لَهُمْ فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا ثُمَّ خَرَجُوا ثُمَّ قَالَ «ائْذَنْ لِعَشَرَةٍ» فَأَذِنَ لَهُمْ فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى شَبِعُوا ثُمَّ خَرَجُوا ثُمَّ قَالَ «ائْذَنْ لِعَشَرَةٍ» حَتَّى أَكَلَ الْقَوْمُ كُلُّهُمْ وَشَبِعُوا وَالْقَوْمُ سَبْعُونَ رَجُلًا أَوْ ثَمَانُونَ  

"The people of As-Suffah were the guests of the people of Islam,they had nothing of people nor wealth to rely upon. And By Allah, the One Whom there is none worthy of worship besides Him – I would lay on the ground on my liver (side) due to hunger, And I would fasten a stone to my stomach out of hunger. One day I sat by the way that they (the Companions) use to come out through. Abu Bakr passed and so I asked him about an Ayah from Allah's Book, not asking him except that he might tell me to follow him (for something to eat). But he passed on without doing so. Then ʿUmar passed, so I asked him about an Ayah from Allah's Book, not asking him except that he might tell me to follow him. But he passed on without doing so. Then Abul-Qasim ﷺ passed, and he smiled when he saw me, and said: 'Abu Hurairah?' I said: 'I am here O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'Come along.' He continued and I followed him, he entered his house, so I sought permission to enter, and he permitted me. He found a bowl of milk and said: 'Where did this milk come from?' It was said: 'It was a gift to us from so – and – so.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'O Abu Hurairah' I said: 'I am here O Messenger of Allah!' He said: 'Go to the people of As-Suffah to invite them.' - Now, they were the guests of the people of Islam, they had nothing of people nor wealth to rely upon. Whenever some charity was brought to him, he would send it to them without using any of it. And when a gift was given to him ﷺ, he would send for them to participate and share with him in it. I became upset about that, and I said (to myself): 'What good will this bowl be among the people of As-Suffah and I am the one bringing it to them?' Then he ordered me to circulate it among them (So I wondered) what of it would reach me from it, and I hoped that I would get from it what would satisfy me. But I would certainly not neglect to obey Allah and obey His Messenger, so I went to them and invited them. When they entered upon him they sat down. He said: 'Abu Hurairah, take the bowl and give it to them.' So I gave it to a man who drank his fill, then he gave it to another one, until it ended up with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and all of the people had drank their fill. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ took the bowl, put it on his hand,then raised his head. He smiled and said: 'Abu Hurairah, drink.' So I drank, then he said: 'Drink.' I kept drinking and he kept on saying, 'Drink.' Then I said: 'By the One Who sent you with the truth! I have no more space for it.' So he took the bowl and praised Allah, mentioned His Name and drank.'” (Sahih) (Using translation from Tirmidhī 2477)   

سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَقُولُ وَالَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ إِنْ كُنْتُ لَأَعْتَمِدُ بِكَبِدِي عَلَى الْأَرْضِ مِنَ الْجُوعِ وَلَقَدْ قَعَدْتُ يَوْمًا عَلَى طَرِيقِهِمُ الَّذِي يَخْرُجُونَ فِيهِ فَمَرَّ بِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ آيَةٍ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ مَا سَأَلْتُهُ إِلَّا لِيُشْبِعَنِي فَمَرَّ وَلَمْ يَفْعَلْ وَمَرَّ بِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ فَسَأَلْتُهُ عَنْ آيَةٍ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ مَا سَأَلْتُهُ إِلَّا لِيُشْبِعَنِي فَمَرَّ وَلَمْ يَفْعَلْ حَتَّى مَرَّ بِي أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ فَلَمَّا رَأَى مَا بِوَجْهِي وَمَا فِي نَفْسِي قَالَ «أَبَا هِرٍّ» فَقُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَسَعْدَيْكَ قَالَ «الْحَقْ» فَلَحِقْتُهُ فَدَخَلَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ فَأَذِنَ فَدَخَلْتُ فَإِذَا هُوَ بِلَبَنٍ فِي قَدَحٍ فَقَالَ لِأَهْلِهِ «مِنْ أَيْنَ لَكُمْ هَذَا؟ » قَالَ هَدِيَّةُ فُلَانٍ أَوْ قَالَ فُلَانٌ فَقَالَ «أَبَا هِرٍّ الْحَقْ إِلَى أَهْلِ الصُّفَّةِ فَادْعُهُمْ» وَأَهْلُ الصُّفَّةِ أَضْيَافٌ لِأَهْلِ الْإِسْلَامِ لَا يَأْوُونَ إِلَى أَهْلٍ أَوْ مَالٍ إِذَا أَتَتْهُ صَدَقَةٌ بَعَثَ بِهَا إِلَيْهِمْ وَلَمْ يُشْرِكْهُمْ فِيهَا وَإِذَا أَتَتْهُ هَدِيَّةٌ بَعَثَ بِهَا إِلَيْهِمْ وَشَرَكَهُمْ فِيهَا وَأَصَابَ مِنْهَا فَسَاءَنِي وَاللَّهِ ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ أَيْنَ يَقَعُ هَذَا اللَّبَنُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الصُّفَّةِ وَأَنَا وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ؟ فَانْطَلَقْتُ فَدَعَوْتُهُمْ فَأَذِنَ لَهُمْ فَدَخَلُوا وَأَخَذَ الْقَوْمُ مَجَالِسَهُمْ قَالَ «أَبَا هِرٍّ» قُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «خُذْ فَنَاوِلْهُمْ» قَالَ فَجَعَلْتُ أُنَاوَلُ رَجُلًا رَجُلًا فَيَشْرَبُ فَإِذَا رَوِيَ أَخَذْتُهُ فَنَاوَلْتُ الْآخَرَ حَتَّى رَوِيَ الْقَوْمُ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَتَبَسَّمَ وَقَالَ «أَبَا هِرٍّ أَنَا وَأَنْتَ» قُلْتُ صَدَقْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «خُذْ فَاشْرَبْ» فَمَا زَالَ يَقُولُ «اشْرَبْ» حَتَّى قُلْتُ وَالَّذِي بَعَثَكَ بِالْحَقِّ مَا أَجِدُ لَهُ مَسْلَكًا قَالَ «فَأَرِنِي الْإِنَاءَ» فَأَعْطَيْتُهُ الْإِنَاءَ فَشَرِبَ الْبَقِيَّةَ وَحَمِدَ رَبَّهُ ﷺ  

"My father died owing debts. I offered to his creditors that they could take the fruits in lieu of what he owed them, but they refused as they thought that it would not cover the debt. I went to the Messenger of Allah and told him about that, he said: 'When you pick the dates and have put them in the Mirbad (place for drying dates), call me.' When I had picked the dates and put them in the Mirbad, I went to the Messenger of Allah and he came, accompanied by Abu Bakr and 'Umar. He sat on (the dates) and prayed for blessing. Then he said: 'Call your creditors and pay them off.' I did not leave anyone to whom my father owed anything but I paid him off, and I had thirteen Wasqs left over. I mentioned that to him and he smiled and said: 'Go to Abu Bakr and 'Umar and tell them about that.' So I went to Abu Bakr and 'Umar and told them about that, and they said: 'We knew, when the Messenger of Allah did what he did, that this would happen.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3640)  

تُوُفِّيَ أَبِي وَعَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ فَعَرَضْتُ عَلَى غُرَمَائِهِ أَنْ يَأْخُذُوا التَّمْرَ بِمَا عَلَيْهِ فَأَبَوْا وَلَمْ يَرَوْ أَنَّ فِيهِ وَفَاءً فَأَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ «إِذَا جَدَدْتَهُ فَوَضَعْتُهُ فِي الْمِرْبَدِ فَآذِنِّي» فَلَمَّا جَدَدْتَهُ وَوَضَعْتُهُ فِي الْمِرْبَدِ فَأَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَجَاءَ وَمَعَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ فَجَلَسَ عَلَيْهِ فَدَعَا بِالْبَرَكَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «ادْعُ غُرَمَاءَكَ فَأَوْفِهِمْ» قَالَ فَمَا تَرَكْتُ أَحَدًا لَهُ عَلَى أَبِي دَيْنٌ إِلَّا قَضَيْتُهُ وَفَضَلَ ثَلَاثَةَ عَشَرَ وَسْقًا سَبْعَةٌ عَجْوَةٌ وَسِتَّةٌ لَوْنٌ فَوَافَيْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْمَغْرِبَ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَضَحِكَ ﷺ وَقَالَ «ائْتِ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ فَأَخْبِرْهُمَا ذَلِكَ» فَأَتَيْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ فَأَخْبَرْتُهُمَا فَقَالَا إِذْ صَنَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا صَنَعَ قَدْ عَلِمْنَا أَنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ ذَلِكَ  

God willing, you would reach by tomorrow the fountain of Tabuk and you should not come to that until it is dawn, and he who amongst you happens to go there should not touch its water until I come. We came to that and two persons (amongst) us reached that fountain ahead of us. It was a thin flow of water like the shoelace. Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked them whether they had touched the water. They said: Yes. Allah's Apostle ﷺ scolded them, and he said to them what he had to say by the will of God. The people then took water of the fountain in their palms until it became somewhat significant and Messenger of Allah ﷺ washed his hands and his face too in it, and then, took it again in that (fountain) and there gushed forth abundant water from that fountain, until all the people drank to their fill. He then said: Mu'adh, it is likely that if you live long that you see what is here filled with gardens. (Using translation from Muslim 706c)   

أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُمْ خَرَجُوا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ غَزْوَةِ تَبُوكَ وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَجْمَعُ بَيْنَ الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ وَبَيْنَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالْعِشَاءِ قَالَ فَأَخَّرَ الصَّلَاةَ يَوْمًا ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى الظُّهْرَ وَالْعَصْرَ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ دَخَلَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ فَصَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ وَالْعِشَاءَ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ قَالَ «إِنَّكُمْ سَتَأْتُونَ غَدًا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ عَيْنَ تَبُوكَ فَإِنَّكُمْ لَنْ تَأْتُوهَا حَتَّى يَضْحَى النَّهَارُ فَمَنْ جَاءَهَا فَلَا يَمَسَّ مِنْ مَائِهَا شَيْئًا حَتَّى آتِيَ» قَالَ فَجِئْنَاهَا وَقَدْ سَبَقَ إِلَيْهَا رَجُلَانِ وَالْعَيْنُ مِثْلُ الشِّرَاكِ تَبِضُّ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَسَأَلَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هَلْ مَسِسْتُمَا مِنْ مَائِهَا شَيْئًا؟ » فَقَالَا نَعَمْ فَسَبَّهُمَا وَقَالَ لَهُمَا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ ثُمَّ غَرَفُوا مِنَ الْعَيْنِ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ قَلِيلًا حَتَّى اجْتَمَعَ فِي شَيْءٍ ثُمَّ غَسَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِيهِ وَجْهَهُ وَيَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَعَادَهَا فِيهَا فَجَرَتِ الْعَيْنُ بِمَاءٍ كَثِيرٍ فَاسْتَقَى النَّاسُ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «يُوشِكُ يَا مُعَاذُ إِنْ طَالَتْ بِكَ الْحَيَاةُ أَنْ تَرَى مَا هَاهُنَا قَدْ مُلِئَ جِنَانًا»  

[Machine] I saw myself with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the prayer of Asr was about to start and we did not have any water except a small amount. It was put in a container and brought to the Prophet ﷺ . He put his hand in it, spread his fingers apart and said, "Greetings to the ablution and blessings from Allah." I saw the water gushing out from between his fingers ﷺ . Some people performed ablution and drank from it. I did not leave anything in my stomach from what I had drank and I knew that it was a blessing. So, I asked Jabir, "How many of you were there that day?" He said, "One thousand four hundred."  

لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَقَدْ حَضَرَتْ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ وَلَيْسَ مَعَنَا مَاءٌ غَيْرُ فَضْلَةٍ فَجُعِلَ فِي إِنَاءٍ فَأُتِيَ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ وَفَرَّجَ بَيْنَ أَصَابِعِهِ وَقَالَ «حَيَّ عَلَى الْوَضُوءِ وَالْبَرَكَةِ مِنَ اللَّهِ» قَالَ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ الْمَاءَ يَنْفَجِرُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَتَوَضَّأَ نَاسٌ وَشَرِبُوا قَالَ فَجَعَلْتُ لَا آلُو مَا جَعَلْتُ فِي بَطْنِي مِنْهُ وَعَلِمْتُ أَنَّهُ بَرَكَةٌ قَالَ فَقُلْتُ لِجَابِرٍ كَمْ كُنْتُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ؟ قَالَ أَلْفٌ وَأَرْبَعُ مِائَةٍ  

I saw Messenger of Allah ﷺ during the time of the afternoon prayer and the people asking for water for performing ablution which they did not find. (A small quantity) of water was brought to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he placed his hand in that vessel and commanded people to perform ablution. I saw water spouting from his fingers and the people performing ablution until the last amongst them performed it. (Using translation from Muslim 2279b)   

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَحَانَتْ صَلَاةُ الْعَصْرِ وَالْتَمَسَ النَّاسُ الْوَضُوءَ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوهُ فَأُتِيَ بِوَضُوءٍ فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ الْإِنَاءِ فَأَمَرَ النَّاسَ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّئُوا مِنْهُ فَرَأَيْتُ الْمَاءَ يَنْبُعُ مِنْ تَحْتِ أَصَابِعِهِ ﷺ فَتَوَضَّأَ النَّاسُ حَتَّى تَوَضَّئُوا مِنْ عِنْدِ آخِرِهِمْ»  

[Machine] Then we were with the Prophet ﷺ on a journey and they could not find any water. So, they brought a container of water and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ put his hand in it. I indeed saw the water gushing out between his fingers ﷺ and he said, "Live upon (be blessed with) pure water and blessings from Allah."  

ثُمَّ كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي سَفَرٍ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا مَاءً فَأُتِيَ بِتَوْرٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَأَدْخَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدَهُ فِيهِ فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ الْمَاءَ يَنْفَجِرُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ ﷺ وَيَقُولُ «حَيَّ عَلَى أَهْلِ الطَّهُورِ وَالْبَرَكَةِ مِنَ اللَّهِ»  

[Machine] The people became thirsty on the day of Hudaybiyah, so the people rushed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He put his hand in a container of water, and I saw the water like springs.  

«أَصَابَ النَّاسُ عَطَشٌ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ فَجَهِشَ النَّاسُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِي مَاءٍ فَرَأَيْتُ الْمَاءَ مِثْلَ الْعُيُونِ»  

[Machine] On the day of Hudaibiya, the people were thirsty and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a container in front of him from which he would perform ablution. When the people rushed towards him, he asked, "What is wrong with you?" They replied, "We have nothing to perform ablution with or drink except what is in front of you." He then placed his hands in the container and supplicated to Allah for water. The water started gushing out from between his fingers, like springs. We drank and performed ablution. I asked Jabir, "How many were you?" He replied, "We were fifteen hundred. Even if we were a hundred thousand, it would have been enough for us."  

عَطِشَ النَّاسُ يَوْمَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ رَكْوَةٌ يَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْهَا إِذَا جَهِشَ النَّاسُ نَحْوَهُ فَقَالَ «مَا لَكُمْ؟ » فَقَالُوا مَا لَنَا لَا نَتَوَضَّأُ بِهِ وَلَا نَشْرَبُ إِلَّا مَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ قَالَ فَوَضَعَ يَدَيْهِ فِي الرَّكْوَةِ وَدَعَا بِمَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَدْعُوَ قَالَ فَجَعَلَ الْمَاءُ يَفُورُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ ﷺ أَمْثَالَ الْعُيُونِ قَالَ فَشَرِبْنَا وَتَوَضَّأْنَا قَالَ قُلْتُ لِجَابِرٍ كَمْ كُنْتُمْ؟ قَالَ كُنَّا خَمْسَ عَشْرَةَ مِائَةً وَلَوْ كُنَّا مِائَةَ أَلْفٍ لَكَفَانَا  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed the Dhuhr prayer in Madinah, then he went to the seats where Jibril used to come to him and sat on them ﷺ . Bilal called the Adhan for Asr prayer, so those who had families in Madinah stood up, performed Wudu, fulfilled their needs, and some of the immigrants who had no families in Madinah remained. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came with a cup that contained water, he placed his fingers in the cup, and his fingers did not fill the entire cup. Then he placed these four fingers down and said, "Come and perform Wudu all together." I asked Anas, "How many were they?" He said, "Between seventy and eighty."  

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا الظُّهْرَ بِالْمَدِينَةِ ثُمَّ أَتَى الْمَقَاعِدَ الَّتِي كَانَ يَأْتِيهِ عَلَيْهَا جِبْرِيلُ فَقَعَدَ عَلَيْهَا ﷺ فَجَاءَ بِلَالٌ فَنَادَى بِالْعَصْرِ فَقَامَ مَنْ لَهُ أَهْلٌ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَتَوَضَّئُوا وَقَضَوْا حَوَائِجَهُمْ وَبَقِيَ رِجَالٌ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ لَا أَهْلَ لَهُمْ بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَأَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِقَدَحٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَوَضَعَ أَصَابِعُهُ فِي الْقَدَحِ فَمَا وَسِعَ أَصَابِعَهُ كُلَّهَا فَوَضَعَ هَؤُلَاءِ الْأَرْبَعَةَ وَقَالَ «هَلُمُّوا فَتَوَضَّئُوا أَجْمَعِينَ» قُلْتُ لِأَنَسٍ كَمْ تُرَاهُمْ؟ قَالَ مَا بَيْنَ السَّبْعِينَ إِلَى الثَّمَانِينَ «  

"Some of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ were looking for (water for) Wudu'. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Do any of you have water?' He put his hand in the water and said: 'Perform Wudu' in the Name of Allah.' I saw the water coming out from between his fingers until they had all performed Wudu'." Thabit said: "I said to Anas: 'How many did you see?' He said: 'About seventy.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 78)   

طَلَبَ بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَضُوءًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «هَلْ مَعَ أَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ مَاءٌ؟ » فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِي الْمَاءِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «تَوَضَّئُوا بِاسْمِ اللَّهِ» فَرَأَيْتُ الْمَاءَ يَجْرِي مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ ﷺ فَتَوَضَّئُوا حَتَّى تَوَضَّئُوا مِنْ عِنْدِ آخِرِهِمْ  

[Machine] "The prayer began, and those who were close to their homes stood up and went to their families to perform ablution. Some people remained, and the Prophet ﷺ was brought a small container with water in it. The container was too small to be filled with his palm, so he cupped his fingers and placed them in the container. Then, all the people, a total of eighty men, performed ablution."  

«حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَقَامَ مَنْ كَانَ قَرِيبَ الدَّارِ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَبَقِيَ قَوْمٌ فَأُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِمِخْضَبٍ مِنْ حِجَارَةٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَصَغُرَ الْمِخْضَبُ عَنْ أَنْ يُمْلَأَ فِيهِ كَفَّهُ فَضَمَّ أَصَابِعَهُ فَوَضَعَهَا فِي الْمِخْضَبِ فَتَوَضَّأَ الْقَوْمُ كُلُّهُمْ جَمِيعًا» فَقُلْنَا كَمْ كَانُوا؟ قَالَ ثَمَانِينَ رَجُلًا  

Anas reported that Allah's Apostle ﷺ called for water and he was given a vessel and the people began to perform ablution in that and I counted (the persons) and they were between sixty and eighty and I saw water which was spouting from his fingers. (Using translation from Muslim 2279a)   

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَعَا بِمَاءٍ فَأُتِيَ بِقَدَحٍ رَحْرَاحٍ فَجَعَلَ الْقَوْمُ يَتَوَضَّئُونَ فَحَزَرْتُ مَا بَيْنَ السِّتِّينَ إِلَى الثَّمَانِينَ»  

[Machine] "I witnessed the Prophet ﷺ with his companions in Medina or in Zawraa. He wanted to perform ablution, so a basin with a little water was brought to him. He placed his hand on the basin and the water began to gush out between his fingers, until the people performed ablution."  

«شَهِدْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَعَ أَصْحَابِهِ بِالْمَدِينَةِ أَوْ بِالزَّوْرَاءِ فَأَرَادَ الْوَضُوءَ فَأُتِيَ بِقَعْبٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ يَسِيرٌ فَوَضَعَ كَفَّهُ عَلَى الْقَعْبِ فَجَعَلَ الْمَاءُ يَنْبُعُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَصَابِعِهِ ﷺ حَتَّى تَوَضَّأَ الْقَوْمُ»
