ذِكْرُ مَا بَارَكَ اللَّهُ جَلَّ وَعَلَا فِي الشَّيْءِ الْيَسِيرِ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ لِلْمُصْطَفَى ﷺ حَتَّى أَكَلَ مِنْهُ عَالَمٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ

ibnhibban:6529 – ʿImrān b. Mūsá b. Mujāshiʿ > ʿUthmān b. Abū Shaybah > Yazīd b. Hārūn > Sulaymān al-Taymī > Abū al-ʿAlāʾ b. al-Shikhhīr > Samurah b. Jundub

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a plate of Tharid and it was placed in front of the people. They all took from it until the middle of the day. Some stood while others sat. A man asked Samurah, "Was it extended?" Samurah replied, "What are you amazed about? It was extended only from here," and he pointed with his hand towards the sky.  

ابن حبّان:٦٥٢٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةٍ مِنْ ثَرِيدٍ فَوُضِعَتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْقَوْمِ فَتَعَاقَبُوهَا إِلَى الظُّهْرِ مِنْ غُدْوَةٍ يَقُومُ قَوْمٌ وَيَجْلِسُ آخَرُونَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ لِسَمُرَةَ أَكَانَ يُمَدُّ؟ فَقَالَ سَمُرَةُ مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ تَتَعَجَّبَ؟ مَا كَانَ يُمَدُّ إِلَّا مِنْ هَا هُنَا وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a bowl containing dates and he distributed it until noon. Some people were standing and others were sitting. A man said to him, "Was it increasing?" He replied, "What is there to wonder about? It was not increasing except from here," and he pointed towards the sky.  

أحمد:٢٠١٩٦ – حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةٍ فِيهَا ثَرِيدٌ فَتَعَاقَبُوهَا إِلَى الظُّهْرِ مِنْ غُدْوَةٍ يَقُومُ نَاسٌ وَيَقْعُدُ آخَرُونَ قَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ هَلْ كَانَتْ تُمَدُّ؟ قَالَ فَمِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ تَعْجَبُ؟ مَاكَانَتْ تُمَدُّ إِلَّا مِنْ هَاهُنَا وَأَشَارَ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ

They continued to share it until noon the next day, with some people standing and others sitting. A man asked Sumarah ibn Jundub, "Wasn't it enough?" Sumarah replied, "What surprises you? It was enough only from here," and he pointed with his hand towards the sky.  

الدارمي:٥٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةٍ مِنْ ثَرِيدٍ فَوُضِعَتْ بَيْنَ يَدَيِ الْقَوْمِ فَتَعَاقَبُوهَا إِلَى الظُّهْرِ مِنْ غُدْوَةٍ يَقُومُ قَوْمٌ وَيَجْلِسُ آخَرُونَ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ لِسَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ أَمَا كَانَتْ تُمَدُّ؟ فَقَالَ سَمُرَةُ «مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ تَعْجَبُ؟ مَا كَانَتْ تُمَدُّ إِلَّا مِنْ هَاهُنَا» وَأَشَارَ بِيَدِهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ

Some people would stand while others would sit." Then a man asked Samurah, "Was it ever being refilled?" Samurah replied, "What are you surprised about? It was only being refilled from here," and he pointed with his hand to the sky."  

الطبراني:٦٩٦٧ – حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَا ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أنا سُلَيْمَانُ التَّيْمِيُّ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الشِّخِّيرِ عَنْ سَمُرَةَ بْنِ جُنْدُبٍ ؓ
