“There are people who fast and get nothing from their fast except hunger, and there are those who pray and get nothing from their prayer but a sleepless night.”  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رُبَّ صَائِمٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ إِلاَّ الْجُوعُ وَرُبَّ قَائِمٍ لَيْسَ لَهُ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ إِلاَّ السَّهَرُ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Many a fasting person gets nothing from his fasting except hunger and thirst, and many a person who prays at night gets nothing from his night prayer except staying awake."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ رُبَّ صَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ الْجُوعُ وَالْعَطَشُ وَرُبَّ قَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ السَّهَرُ  

[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "Many a person who stands in prayer gets nothing from his standing but sleeplessness, and many a person who fasts gets nothing from his fasting but hunger."  

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «رُبَّ قَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ السَّهَرُ وَرُبَّ صَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ الْجُوعُ»  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Many fasting people only get hunger and thirst from their fasting, and many standing in prayer only get sleeplessness from their night prayer."  

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «رُبَّ صَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ الْجُوعُ وَالْعَطَشُ وَرُبَّ قَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ السَّهَرُ»  

[Machine] He heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say: "Many are those who stand for prayer, but their share of standing is sleeplessness, and many are those who fast, but their share of fasting is hunger and thirst."  

أَنَّهُ سَمَعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ رُبَّ قَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ قِيَامِهِ السَّهَرُ وَرُبَّ صَائِمٍ حَظُّهُ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ الْجُوعُ وَالْعَطَشُ  

"رُبَّ صائِمٍ لَيْس لَهُ مِن صِيامِهِ إِلا الجُوعُ، ورُبَّ قَائِمٍ لَيْس لَهُ مِنْ قِيامِه إِلَّا السَّهَرُ".  

"رُبَّ قَائِمٍ حظُّهُ مِن قِيامِهِ السَّهرُ، وربَّ صائِمٍ حظه مِنْ صِيامِهِ الجُوعُ، والعطَشُ".
