The Prophet ﷺ said, "If Allah loves ˹His˺ servant, He calls Jibrīl saying, 'Allah loves so and-so; O Jibrīl! Love him.' Jibrīl would love him and make an announcement amongst the inhabitants of the sky. 'Allah loves so-and-so, therefore you should also love him,' and so all the inhabitants of the sky would love him, and then he is granted the approval of the people on the earth."

Then he makes an announcement in the heaven saying: Allah loves so and so and you also love him, and then the inhabitants of the Heaven (the Angels) also begin to love him and then there is conferred honour upon him in the earth; and when Allah is angry with any servant He calls Gabriel and says: I am angry with such and such and you also become angry with him, and then Gabriel also becomes angry and then makes an announcement amongst the inhabitants of heaven: Verily Allah is angry with so-and so, so you also become angry with him, and thus they also become angry with him. So when Allah loves a servant, He says, 'O Gabriel, indeed your Lord loves so-and-so, so love him.' Then Gabriel announces in the heavens, 'Indeed, your Lord loves so-and-so, so love him.' Then love for him is instilled in the hearts of the people on Earth."

The Prophet ﷺ said, "If Allah loves a person, He calls Gabriel saying, 'Allah loves so and-so; O Gabriel! Love him.' Gabriel would love him and make an announcement amongst the inhabitants of the Heaven. 'Allah loves so-and-so, therefore you should love him also,' and so all the inhabitants of the Heaven would love him, and then he is granted the pleasure of the people on the earth."

suyuti:4668a

When Allah loves a servant, He calls Gabriel and says: Verily, I so and so; you should also love him, and then Gabriel begins to love him. Then he becomes the object of wrath on the earth also. (Using translation from Muslim 2637a)

السيوطي:٤٦٦٨a

Reputation of a servant in the sky reflects on earth

suyuti:19483aAbū Hurayrah

"There is no servant but that he has a reputation in the sky. If his reputation is good, it will be placed upon the earth. If his reputation is evil, it will be placed upon the earth."

Bayhaqī’s Sunan in Zuhd by Abū Hurayrah
