that ʿUmar had vowed in the Pre-Islamic period to perform Iʿtikaf in Al-Masjid-al-Haram. (A subnarrator thinks that ʿUmar vowed to perform Iʿtikaf for one night.) Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to ʿUmar, "Fulfill your vow."
أَنَّ عُمَرَ ؓ نَذَرَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ قَالَ أُرَاهُ قَالَ لَيْلَةً قَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ
ʿUmar asked the Prophet ﷺ "I vowed in the Pre-Islamic period of ignorance to stay in Iʿtikaf for one night in Al-Masjid al-Haram." The Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Fulfill your vow."
أَنَّ عُمَرَ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ كُنْتُ نَذَرْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ قَالَ فَأَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ
ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! I vowed in the Pre-Islamic period to perform Iʿtikaf in Al-Masjid-al-Haram for one night." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Fulfill your vow." So, he performed Iʿtikaf for one night.
أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَوْفِ نَذْرَكَ فَاعْتَكَفَ لَيْلَةً
ʿUmar said "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! I vowed to perform Iʿtikaf for one night in Al-Masjid-al-Haram, during the Pre-Islamic Period of ignorance (before embracing Islam). "The Prophet ﷺ said, "Fulfill your vow." Ibn ʿUmar said to the lady, "Pray on her behalf." Ibn ʿAbbas said the same.
يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ قَالَ أَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ
Messenger of Allah, I had taken a vow during the days of Ignorance (Jahiliyya) that I would observe I'tikaf for a night in the Sacred Mosque. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Fulfil your vow.
يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ قَالَ فَأَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ
That 'Umar said: Messenger of Allah, I took a vow in pre-Islamic times that I would stay in the sacred mosque (Masjid Haram) as a devotion (i'tikaf). The Prophet ﷺ said: Fulfill your vow.
أَنَّهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ لَيْلَةً فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ
"I said:'O Messenger of Allah! I had vowed to perform I'tikaf in Al-Masjid Al-Haram for a night during the era of Jahiliyyah.' He said: 'Fulfill your vow.''"
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي كُنْتُ نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ قَالَ أَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

"Umar had made a vow to spend a night in 'Itikaf in Al-Masjid Al-Haram. He asked the Messenger of Allah about that, and he ordered him to perform the 'Itikaf." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3821)
كَانَ عُمَرُ نَذَرَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ اعْتِكَافِ لَيْلَةٍ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ «فَسَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ»
(عَن ابْنِ عمر أن عمر قَالَ): "قُلْتُ: يا رَسُولَ الله: إِنِّى نَذَرْتُ فِى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ فِى الْمَسْجِدِ لَيْلَةً، وَفِى لَفَظٍ: يَوْمًا، قَالَ: فَأَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ".
