ʿUmar said "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! I vowed to perform Iʿtikaf for one night in Al-Masjid-al-Haram, during the Pre-Islamic Period of ignorance (before embracing Islam). "The Prophet ﷺ said, "Fulfill your vow." Ibn ʿUmar said to the lady, "Pray on her behalf." Ibn ʿAbbas said the same.

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ قَالَ أَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ

Messenger of Allah, I had taken a vow during the days of Ignorance (Jahiliyya) that I would observe I'tikaf for a night in the Sacred Mosque. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Fulfil your vow.

يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ قَالَ فَأَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ

[Machine] Omar asked the Messenger of Allahﷺ about Jirrana, so he said, "I vowed in pre-Islamic times to observe retreat in the Kaaba." Abdus Samad was with him, along with a boy from the captives of the Hawazin tribe. So, he said to him, "Go and observe retreat." He went and observed retreat. While he was praying, he heard people saying, "The Messenger of Allah has set free the captives of the Hawazin tribe." So, he called the boy and set him free.

أَنَّ عُمَرَ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِالْجِعِرَّانَةِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ نَذَرْتُ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ؟ قَالَ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ وَمَعَهُ غُلَامٌ مِنْ سَبْيِ هَوَازِنَ فَقَالَ لَهُ اذْهَبْ فَاعْتَكِفْ فَذَهَبَ فَاعْتَكَفَ فَبَيْنَمَا هُوَ يُصَلِّيإِذْ سَمِعَ النَّاسَ يَقُولُونَ أَعْتَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ سَبْيَ هَوَازِنَ فَدَعَا الْغُلَامَ فَأَعْتَقَهُ
