مرة إلى النبي صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وقصر به أخرى قال الصدقة عن ظهر غنى واليد العليا خير من اليد السفلى وابدأ بمن تعولولا نعلم أسند معقل عن عَطَاء عن أبي هريرة رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ إلا هذا الحديث
"The best of charity is that which is given when you are self-sufficient, and the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and start with those for whom you are responsible." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2534)
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا صَدَقَةَ إِلَّا عَنْ ظَهْرِ غِنًى وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ
The most excellent Sadaqa or the best of Sadaqa is that after giving which the (giver) remains rich and the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin from the members of your household. (Using translation from Muslim 1034)
