"The Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah was: "Labbaika Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaika la sharika laka labbaik. Innal-hamda wan-ni'mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika lak (Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise and blessings are Yours, and all sovereignty, You have no partner)." And Ibn 'Umar added: "Labbaika Labbaika wasa'daika wal-khayr fi yadika, warraghba' ilaika wal-'aml (Here I am, here I am, and at Your service; all good is in Your hands, seeking Your pleasure and striving for Your sake)." 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) made this addition to it: Here I am at Thy service; here I am at Thy service; ready to obey Thee, and good is in Thy Hand; here I am at Thy service; unto Thee is the petition, and deed (is also for Thee).

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pronouncing Talbiya with compacted hair: Here I am at Thy service. O Allah: here I am at Thy service; here I am at Thy service. There is no associate with Thee; here I am at Thy service. Verily all praise and grace is due to Thee and the Sovereignty (too). There is no associate with Thee; and he did not make any addition to these words. 'Abdullah b. 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) (further) said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to offer two rak'ahs of prayer at Dhu'l-Hulaifa and then when his camel stood up with him on its back near the mosque at Dhu'l-Hulaifa, he pronounced these words (of Talbiya). And 'Abdullah b. 'Umar (Allah be pleased'with them) said that 'Umar b. Khattab (Allah be pleased with him) pronounced, the Talbiya of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in these words of his (Prophet's words) and said: Here I am at Thy service, O Lord; here I am at Thy service, ready to obey Thee, and good is in Thy Hand, Here I am at Thy service. Unto Thee is the petition and deed (is also for Thee).

Ibn ‘Umar said Talbiyah uttered by the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ was Labbaik(always ready to obey), O Allaah labbaik, labbaik; Thou hast no partner, praise and grace are Thine, and the Dominion, Thou hast no partner. The narrator said ‘Abd Allaah bin ‘Umar used to add to his talbiyah Labbaik, labbaik, labbaik wa sa’daik(give me blessing after blessing) and good is Thy hands, desire and actions are directed towards Thee.

When Ibn Umar would say the talbiyah he would continue saying: "Labbaik Allahumma labbaik. Labbaik la sharika laka labbaik. Innal-hamda wan-niʿmata laka wal-mulk, la sharika laka" (I respond to Your call O Allah! I respond to Your call, You have no partner, I respond to You call. All praise, thanks and blessings are for You. And You have no partners with You). He said: "Abdullah bin Umar would say: 'This is the Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah.' He would himself add the following after the Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah: "Labbaik labbaika wa-sa'daik, wal-khairuu fi yadaik. Labbaika war-raghba'u ilaika wal-amal" ('I respond to Your call, and I am obedient to Your orders, all good is in Your Hands. I respond to Your call and the requests and deeds are for You).'"  

الترمذي:٨٢٦حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

“I learned the Talbiyah from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who said: Labbaika Allahumma labbaik, labbaika la sharika laka labbaik. Innal-hamda wan- ni’mata laka, wal-mulk. La sharika laka (Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise and blessings are Yours, and all sovereignty, You have no partner).” He said: “And Ibn ‘Umar used to add: Labbaika labbaika labbaika wa sa’daika wal-khairu fi yadaika, labbaika war-raghba’u ilaika wal-‘amal (Here I am, here I am, here I am, and at Your service; all good is in Your Hands, here I am, seeking Your pleasure and striving for Your sake).”  

ابن ماجة:٢٩١٨حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ وَأَبُو أُسَامَةَ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

تَلَقَّفْتُ التَّلْبِيَةَ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ قَالَ وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَزِيدُ فِيهَا لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ وَالْخَيْرُ فِي يَدَيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ وَالرَّغْبَاءُ إِلَيْكَ وَالْعَمَلُ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Abdullah ibn Umar that the talbiya of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was, "I am at Your service, O Allah, I am at Your service. You have no partner. I am at Your service. Praise and blessing belong to You, and the Kingdom. You have no partner." Labayk, Allahumma labayk, la sharika laka labayk. Inna'l-hamda wa'n-nimata laka wa'l-mulk, la sharika lak. Malik said that Abdullah ibn Umar used to add, "I am at Your service, I am at Your service. I am at Your service and at Your call. Good is in Your hands, and I am at Your service. Our desire is for You, and our action ." Labayk, labayk, labayk wa sadayka wa'l-khayr biyadayka labayk wa'r-raghba'u ilayka wa'l-amalu.

[Machine] About the phrase that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite while entering Makkah, he would say, "Labbaik Allahumma labbaik, labbaik la sharika laka labbaik. Innal hamda wanni'mata laka wal mulk, la sharika lak." [Narrated by Al-Nasa'i].

It was mentioned by beneficial narrations that Ibn 'Umar used to increase these words when performing tawaf, saying, "Labbaik wa-al-rujba'a ilayka wal-'amal labbaik labbaik."

عَنِ الَّذِي كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُلَبِّي بِهِ يَقُولُ لَبَّيْكَ اللهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ وَذَكَرَ نَافِعٌ أَنَّ ابْنَعُمَرَ كَانَ يَزِيدُ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ لَبَّيْكَ وَالرَّغْبَاءُ إِلَيْكَ وَالْعَمَلُ لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ

"The Talbiyah of the Messenger of Allah was: "Labbaika Allahumma Labbaik, Labbaika la sharika laka labbaik. Innal-hamda wan-ni'mata laka wal-mulk, la sharika lak (Here I am, O Allah, here I am. Here I am, You have no partner, here I am. Verily all praise and blessings are Yours, and all sovereignty, You have no partner)." And Ibn 'Umar added: "Labbaika Labbaika wasa'daika wal-khayr fi yadika, warraghba' ilaika wal-'aml (Here I am, here I am, and at Your service; all good is in Your hands, seeking Your pleasure and striving for Your sake)." كَانَتْ تَلْبِيَةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَبَّيْكَ اللهُمَّلَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ وَزَادَ فِيهَا ابْنُ عُمَرَ لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ وَالْخَيْرُ فِي يَدَيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ وَالرَّغْبَاءُ إِلَيْكَ وَالْعَمَلُ  

ahmad:5071And Jadt Fī Kitāb Abū > Muḥammad b. Bakr > Ibn Jurayj > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar Kān

Ibn ‘Umar said Talbiyah uttered by the Apostle of Allaah ﷺ was Labbaik(always ready to obey), O Allaah labbaik, labbaik; Thou hast no partner, praise and grace are Thine, and the Dominion, Thou hast no partner. The narrator said ‘Abd Allaah bin ‘Umar used to add to his talbiyah Labbaik, labbaik, labbaik wa sa’daik(give me blessing after blessing) and good is Thy hands, desire and actions are directed towards Thee. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1812)

darimi:1849Yazīd b. Hārūn > Yaḥyá / Ibn Saʿīd > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

[Machine] Verily, the Prophet ﷺ used to say when he performed the pilgrimage, "Labbayka Allahumma labbayk, labbayka la sharika laka labbayk, innal hamda wani'mata laka wal mulk, la sharika laka." Yahya and Nafi' have mentioned that Ibn 'Umar used to add the following words to this phrase, "Labbayka war-rahba'u ilayk, wal 'amal labbayk labbayk."  

الدارمي:١٨٤٩أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنْبَأَنَا يَحْيَى يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا لَبَّى قَالَ «لَبَّيْكَ اللَّهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ» قَالَ يَحْيَى وَذَكَرَ نَافِعٌ أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ كَانَ يَزِيدُ هَؤُلَاءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ «لَبَّيْكَ وَالرَّغْبَاءُ إِلَيْكَ وَالْعَمَلُ لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ»

Here I am at Thy service, O Lord; here I am at Thy service: here I am at Thy service. There is no associate with Thee. Here I am at Thy service. All praise and grace is due to Thee and the sovereignty (too). There is no associate with Thee. They (the people) said that 'Abdullah b. 'Umar said that that was the Talbiya of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Nafi' said: 'Abdullah (Allah be pleased with him) made this addition to it: Here I am at Thy service; here I am at Thy service; ready to obey Thee. The Good is in Thy Hand. Here I am at Thy service. Unto Thee is the petition and deed (is also for Thee). (Using translation from Muslim 1184b)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا اسْتَوَتْ بِهِ رَاحِلَتُهُ قَائِمَةً عِنْدَ مَسْجِدِ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ أَهَلَّ فَقَالَ لَبَّيْكَ اللهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ إِنَّ الْحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالْمُلْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ قَالَ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ يَقُولُ هَذِهِ تَلْبِيَةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ نَافِعٌ كَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يَزِيدُ مَعَ هَذَا لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ وَالْخَيْرُ بِيَدَيْكَ لَبَّيْكَ وَالرَّغْبَاءُ إِلَيْكَ وَالْعَمَلُ
