It was said to the Prophet, "Won't you marry the daughter of Hamza?" He said, "She is my foster niece (brother's daughter). " (Using translation from Bukhārī 5100)
قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ لَوْ تَزَوَّجْتَ بِنْتَ حَمْزَةَ؟ قَالَ إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ
It was said to the Prophet, "Won't you marry the daughter of Hamza?" He said, "She is my foster niece (brother's daughter). "
قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَلاَ تَزَوَّجُ ابْنَةَ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ وَقَالَ بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ مِثْلَهُ
Messenger of Allah, why is it that you select (your wife) from among the Quraish, but you ignore us (the nearest of the kin)? Thereupon he said: Have you anything for me (a suitable match for me)? I said; Yes, the daughter of Hamza, whereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: She is not lawful for me, for she is the daughter of my brother by reason of fosterage.
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا لَكَ تَنَوَّقُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَتَدَعُنَا فَقَالَ وَعِنْدَكُمْ شَىْءٌ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ بِنْتُ حَمْزَةَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهَا لاَ تَحِلُّ لِي إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ
"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, why do you choose wives from among Quraish and not from among us?' He said: 'Do you have anyone in mind?' I said: 'Yes, the daughter of Hamzah.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'She is not permissible for me (to marry); she is the daughter of my brother through breast-feeding.'"
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا لَكَ تَنَوَّقُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَتَدَعُنَا قَالَ وَعِنْدَكَ أَحَدٌ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ بِنْتُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهَا لاَ تَحِلُّ لِي إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ
"Mention was made to the Messenger of Allah of the daughter of Hamzah (as a potential wife). He said: 'She is the daughter of my brother through breast-feeding.'" (One of the narrators) Shu'bah said: "Qatadah heard this from Jabir bin Zaid."
ذُكِرَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِنْتُ حَمْزَةَ فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ هَذَا سَمِعَهُ قَتَادَةُ مِنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ
"She is the daughter of my brother through breast-feeding, and what becomes unlawful (for marriage) through breast-feeding is the same as that which becomes unlawful through lineage."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أُرِيدَ عَلَى بِنْتِ حَمْزَةَ فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ وَإِنَّهُ يَحْرُمُ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ مَا يَحْرُمُ مِنَ النَّسَبِ
O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, why do you choose to get married from among Quraysh and you ignore us? He said: ʿHave you anybody to suggest?ʿ I said: Yes, the daughter of Hamzah. قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا لِي أَرَاكَ تَنَوَّقُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَتَدَعُنَا أَنْ تَزَوَّجَ إِلَيْنَا؟ قَالَ وَعِنْدَكَ شَيْءٌ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ ابْنَةُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ
‘Ali ؓ said: I said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, shall I not tell you about the most beautiful girl of Quraish? He said: “who is she?ʿ I said: The daughter of Hamzah. He said: ʿDonʿt you know that she is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding? Allah has forbidden (for marriage) through breastfeeding that which He has forbidden through blood ties.”
عَلِيٌّ قُلْتُ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى أَجْمَلِ فَتَاةٍ فِي قُرَيْشٍ؟ قَالَ وَمَنْ هِيَ؟ قُلْتُ ابْنَةُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنَّهَا ابْنَةُأَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ إِنَّ اللهَ حَرَّمَ مِنَ الرَّضَاعِ مَا حَرَّمَ مِنَ النَّسَبِ
I said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, why do you marry from Quraish and not from us? He said: “Do you have anyone?ʿ I said: The daughter of Hamzah. He said: ʿShe is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding.“
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا لِي أَرَاكَ تَنَوَّقُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَتَدَعُنَا؟ قَالَ عِنْدَكَ شَيْءٌ؟ قُلْتُ ابْنَةُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ هِيَ ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ
I heard Abu Salih say: ‘Ali ؓ said: I mentioned the daughter of Hamzah (as a potential spouse) to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he said: ʿShe is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding.ʿ
عَلِيٌّ ذَكَرْتُ ابْنَةَ حَمْزَةَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ
I said: O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, why do you marry from Quraish and you do not marry from among us? He said: ʿDo you have anyone” I said: Yes, the daughter of Hamzah. He said: ʿShe is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding.ʿ
قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا لَكَ تَنَوَّقُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَلاتَزَوَّجُ إِلَيْنَا؟ قَالَ وَعِنْدَكَ شَيْءٌ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ نَعَمْ ابْنَةُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ تِلْكَ ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ
[AI] The Prophet ﷺ was told about the daughter of Hamzah, so he said, "She is the daughter of my brother through breastfeeding."

قُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَلَا أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى أَحْسَنِ فَتَاةِ قُرَيْشٍ؟ قَالَ «مَنْ هِيَ؟» قَالَ بِنْتُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ «إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ»

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَالِي أَرَاكَ تَتَوَّقُ فِي قُرَيْشٍ وَتَدَعُنَا قَالَ عِنْدَكَ شَيْءٌ؟ قُلْتُ نَعَمِ ابْنَةُ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ إِنَّهَا ابْنَةُ أَخِي مِنَ الرَّضَاعَةِ
" عَنْ عَلِىٍّ قَالَ: قُلتُ: يَا رَسُولَ الله مَالَكَ تَنَوَّقُ فِى قُرَيشٍ وَتَدَعُنَا؟ قَالَ: وَعِنْدَكُمْ شَئٌ (قَالَ) قُلتُ: نَعَمْ ابْنَةُ حَمْزَة، إِنَّهَا لاَ تَحِلُّ لِى، هِىَ ابْنَةُ أَخِى مِنَ الرَّضاعَةِ ".
"عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ قَالَ: عُرَضت بِنْت حَمْزةَ عَلَى النَّبِىَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: إِنَّهَا ابْنَة أَخِى مِن الرَّضَاعَة".
