11. Anṣār (6/12)
“Whoever takes a bath on a Friday and does it well, and purifies himself and does it well, and puts on his best clothes, and puts on whatever Allah decrees for him of the perfume of his family, then comes to the mosque and does not engage in idle talk or separate (pushing between) two people; he will be forgiven for (his sins) between that day and the previous Friday.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1097)
“Allah the Blessed and Exalted says: ‘O My slaves, all of you are sinners except those whom I have saved. So ask Me for forgiveness, I will forgive you. Whoever among you knows that I have the power to forgive and asks Me to forgive by My power, I will forgive him. All of you are astray except those whom I guide. Ask Me for guidance and I will guide you. All of you are poor except those whom I enrich (make independent of means). Ask of Me and I will grant you provision. Even if your living and your dead, your first and your last, your fresh and your dry, were all as pious as the most pious among My slaves, that would not increase my dominion as much as a gnat’s wing, and if they were to be as evil as the most evil among My slaves, that would not detract from My dominion as much as a gnat’s wing. Even if your living and your dead, your first and your last, your fresh and your dry, were to join together and each of them were to ask for all that he wishes for, that would only detract from My dominion as much as if one of you were to pass by the edge of the sea and dip a needle in it and withdraw it. That is because I am the Most Generous, Majestic. I give with a word; when I will something, all I do is say to it “Be!” – and it is.’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 4257)
[Machine] Abu Dharr and I were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the mosque when the sun began to set. He asked Abu Dharr, "Where does the sun go?" I replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "Verily, it continues on its path until it prostrates beneath the throne of its Lord. Then, it seeks permission and is allowed to rise again. It is as if it is commanded to return to where it came from, and so it rises from its place. And that is its appointed resting place." Muhammad ﷺ then recited the verse: "And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing." (Quran 36:38)
[Machine] I passed by Umar with a group of his companions, and one of them caught up with me. He said, "O young man, make a good supplication for me, may Allah bless you." I said, "And who are you? May Allah bless you." He said, "I am Abu Dharr." I said, "May Allah forgive you, you are more deserving." He said, "Indeed, I heard Umar saying, 'What a good boy,' and I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, 'Verily, Allah put the truth on the tongue of Umar.'"
[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the saying of Allah ﷻ, "And the sun runs on to its resting place." He said, "Its resting place is beneath the Throne."
"The Messenger of Allah said: "There are three to whom of Allah will not speak on the Day of Resurrection or look at them or purify them, and theirs will be a painful torment: the one who reminds people of what he has given them, the one who lets his garment hang beneath his ankles, and a vendor who tries to sell his product by means of false oaths." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2564)
[Machine] That the Prophet ﷺ stoned a woman, then he commanded me to dig a grave for her, so I dug a grave for her up to her waist.
[Machine] I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was in the mosque, and I sat down. He said, "O Abu Dharr, have you prayed?" I said, "No." He said, "Then get up and pray." So I got up and prayed, then I sat down. He said, "O Abu Dharr, seek refuge in Allah from the evil of the human and jinn devils." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, are there devils among humans?" He said, "Yes." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what about prayer?" He said, "It is a good act of worship. Whoever wants can do less and whoever wants can do more." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what about fasting?" He said, "It is a satisfying loan, and with Allah, there is reward." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what about charity?" He said, "It is multiplied and increased." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, which is the best?" He said, "Effort in giving, from a person with modest means, or giving in secret to a needy person." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, who was the first of the prophets?" He said, "Adam." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, was he a prophet?" He said, "Yes, he was a speaking prophet." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, how many messengers were there?" He said, "Three hundred and something, or fifteen." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, was Adam a prophet?" He said, "Yes, he was a speaking prophet." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, which verse that was revealed to you is the greatest?" He said, "Ayat al-Kursi (Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence)" [Quran 2:255].
[Machine] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, we have been harmed by wolves?" He said, "That is not what I fear most for you, rather what I fear most for you is that the world is poured upon you abundantly. I wish that my nation does not wear gold."
[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Everyday, every joint of a person has charity. Then he said: 'Being just in your judgment is charity. Removing harmful things from the path is charity. Guiding a person from a place of confusion is charity. Guiding a blind person is charity. Removing a harmful thing from the road is charity. Giving water to the thirsty is charity.' They said: 'O Messenger of Allah, if someone fulfills his sexual desire, will he have a reward?' He said: 'Do you see that if he were to fulfill it illegally, would it be sinful for him?' They said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Likewise, if he fulfills it lawfully, he will have a reward.' Then he mentioned acts of charity continuously. He said: 'And two units of Duha (forenoon) prayer compensate for all of this.'"
The Apostle of Allah ﷺ said: The deeds of my people, good and bad, were presented before me, and I found the removal of something objectionable from the road among their good deeds, and the sputum mucus left unburied in the mosque among their evil deeds. (Using translation from Muslim 553)
"My nation was shown to me with their good deeds and bad deeds. Among their good deeds I saw a harmful thing being removed from the road. And among their bad deeds I saw sputum in the mosque that had not been removed." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 3683)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited this verse to me, "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out" [Quran 65:2], until he completed the verse. Then he said, "O Abu Dharr, if the people were to take hold of this verse, it would be sufficient for them." He continued reciting it and repeating it to me until I fell asleep. Then he said, "O Abu Dharr, what would you do if you were expelled from the city?" I said, "I would go to the vastness and call for help until I become like a dove from the pigeons of Makkah." He asked, "And what would you do if you were expelled from Makkah?" I said, "I would go to the vastness and call for help until I reach Sham and the holy land." He asked, "And what would you do if you were expelled from Sham?" I said, "Then, by the One who sent you with the truth, I would place my sword on my shoulder." He asked, "Would there be anything better than that?" I said, "Is there anything better than that?" He said, "You would listen and obey, even if the ruler was an Abyssinian slave."
[Machine] I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was in the mosque, so I sat with him. He asked me, "O Abu Dharr, did you pray?" I said, "No." He said, "Then get up and pray." So I got up and prayed, then I came to him and sat with him again. He said, "O Abu Dharr, seek refuge in Allah from the evil of the demons of humans and jinn." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, do humans have demons?" He said, "Yes, O Abu Dharr. Shall I not guide you to a treasure from the treasures of Paradise?" I said, "Yes, O my father, may my mother and father be sacrificed for you." He said, "Say 'There is no power or strength except with Allah,' as it is a treasure from the treasures of Paradise." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is prayer?" He said, "It is a set of good deeds, so whoever wishes may increase it and whoever wishes may decrease it." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is fasting?" He said, "It is a satisfying loan." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, what is charity?" He said, "It is multiplied and increased with Allah." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, which is the best?" He said, "An effort from a person with little or a secret charity to a poor person." I said, "Which verse that Allah has revealed to you is the greatest?" He said, "{Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence}" [Al-Baqarah 255] until the end of the verse. I said, "Who was the first prophet, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Adam." I said, "Was he a prophet, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Yes, he was a speaking prophet." I said, "How many messengers, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Three hundred and fifteen, a large number."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you stands up to pray, he is facing mercy, so let him not touch the pebbles or move them."
[Machine] We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey when a man came to him and said, "Indeed, someone has committed adultery." The Prophet turned away from him, but he repeated the statement three times and then a fourth time. The Prophet ﷺ came down and said, "Once he mentioned it in front of me, so I acknowledged it as adultery four times." Then he came down and commanded us to dig a pit for him, which was not too deep, and he was stoned. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then left, feeling sorry and sad. We followed him until he settled in a place, and then it was kept secret from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said to me, "O Abu Dhar, did you not see that forgiveness was granted to your companion and he was admitted to Paradise?"

How will you deal with the rulers (imams) who appropriate to themselves this booty? I said : I swear by him who sent you with the truth that at that time I shall put my sword on my shoulder and smite with it till I meet you, or I join you.
