They said, "We heard your voice and thought it was a cry." He said, "And does his wife see what I have done and hear?" She said, "Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts that nursed you." [Machine] There was a young man among the Children of Israel who had read and acquired knowledge of the Book. He was respected among them and sought honor and wealth through his knowledge and recitation. He had innovated a practice that allowed him to attain honor and wealth in this world. He continued this way until he reached a certain age. One night, while he was lying on his bed, he contemplated his actions and said, "These people do not know what I have innovated. Doesn't Allah know what I have innovated? And the time of death is near. What if I were to repent?" So, he exerted himself in seeking repentance until he decided to act upon it. He pierced his throat and tied a chain around it, then threw it into a well in one of the corners of the mosque, saying, "I will not leave this place until Allah sends down upon me either repentance or my death." He did not consider it strange to receive revelation among the Children of Israel. Allah revealed to a prophet among them concerning his matter, saying, "If you had committed a sin between Me and you, I would have forgiven you as far as what you have reached. But how have you misguided My servants and caused them to die and enter Hell? So, I will not accept your repentance." The young man's name was 'Awf, and it was thought that he was called "Barbari".

So she approached him on a dark and rainy night while he was in prayer, with a burning lantern in his room. He did not even look at her. She said, "O slave of Allah, the darkness and rain have brought me to you." He did not respond. She continued, "O slave of Allah, the darkness and rain have brought me to you." Still, he did not respond. She continued this until she reached him and entered his cell. She laid down, and he remained standing in prayer. She began to turn and show him her beauty until he was tempted by his own soul. He said, "No, by Allah, until I see how you withstand the fire." He approached the lantern and placed one of his fingers in it until it burnt. He said, "Then he returned to his prayer, and once again his soul called him. He returned to the lantern and again placed his finger in it until it burnt." He said, "Then he returned to his prayer, and once again his soul called him."

[Machine] "So, he did not notice it (the lamp) as he was returning until his fingers were burned as he looked at it, then he got shocked and died." He (narrator) said, "When they woke up in the morning, they went to see what had happened." He (narrator) said, "And behold, she was dead." They (people) said, "O enemy of Allah, O villain, this has befallen her because of you, and then you killed her." He (narrator) said, "So they took him to their king and testified against him, so he ordered his execution." He (narrator) said, "Leave me until I pray two Rak'ahs (units of prayer)." He (narrator) said, "So he prayed and then he supplicated, saying, 'O my Lord, I know that You would not take me to account for what I did not do, but I ask You not to make me a disgrace upon the readers after me.'" He (narrator) said, "So Allah returned her soul to her body, and she said, 'Look at his hand.' Then she returned to being dead." 515 He (narrator) said, "Narrated to us Ghawth bin Jabir, he said, 'I heard Aqil mentioning (this story).' He (narrator) said, 'I heard Wahab bin Munabbih saying, 'Indeed, a man from the travelers was in a house near a village.' So he mentioned the story in a similar way, except he said, 'She (the woman) said, 'When I saw his hands were burned, I was shocked in my place. Then she said, 'Leave, for I will never be your companion again.' And she roamed in the mountains.'"

[Machine] From Wahb, it is narrated that a traveler, meaning a follower, came across a lion standing on the road, seeking prey. The follower started to inform the traveler, saying, "Lion, lion!" The traveler did not pay attention to him until they passed by the lion, and the lion moved away from the road. After they passed, the follower said to his elder, "Didn't I warn you about the lion?" The traveler replied, "Did you think that I fear anything other than Allah? If the lions' tongues were differents, I would prefer that Allah does not know that I fear anything other than Him."

[Machine] A poor traveler used to bring them food every three days. But one day, they did not receive any food. The older one said to the younger one, "One of us has done something to cut off our provision; remember what you have done." The younger one said, "I have not done anything." Then the younger one remembered and said, "Yes, a poor beggar came to the door, and I shut the door in his face." The older one said, "After that, we were provided for, so seek forgiveness from Allah." Then their provision came to them as it used to.

[Machine] A tourist entered a village and found out that a man from the leaders of that village had died, so he left. He said, "I will not bury this tyrant." Then he fell asleep. A man came to him and said, "O so-and-so, do you possess any of Allah's mercy?" He said, "No." He repeated that three times while saying no. Then he asked, "And how do you know what has caused this pain in him?"
