[Machine] I used to say in the morning, "I will not reach the evening", and in the evening, "I will not reach the morning."

الزهد لأحمد:٥٠٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أبِي حَدَّثَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ وَهْبَ بْنَ مُنَبِّهٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ مَرَّتْ بِمَاءٍ فَاغْتَسَلَتْ ثُمَّ قَامَتْ تُصَلِّي فَمَكَثَتْ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً أَوْ سَبْعِينَ سَنَةً لَمْ تَنْصَرِفْ وَلَمْ تَطْعَمْ وَلَمْ تَشْرَبْ حَتَّى زَكَتْ فَانْصَرَفَتْ فَقِيلَ لَهَا كَيْفَ كُنْتِ؟ قَالَتْ

كُنْتُ أُصْبِحُ فَأَقُولُ لَا أُمْسِي وَأُمْسِي فَأَقُولُ لَا أُصْبِحُ
