[Machine] What my eager (person) does not imitate and the word of people is not believed to you. He said, so what is hidden from my work? He said, it is presumed that you do not do good deeds.  

الزهد لأحمد:٥٠٨ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي أبِي حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ وَهْبَ بْنَ مُنَبِّهٍ يَقُولُ إِنَّ عَالِمًا مِنْ عُلَمَاءِ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ جَاءَ إِلَى عَالِمٍ فَوْقَهُ فِي الْعِلْمِ فَقَالَ مَا آكُلُ؟ فَقَالَ مَا تُطْفِئُ بِهِ جُوعَكَ قَالَ فَمَا أَلْبَسُ؟ قَالَ مَا تُوَارِي بِهِ سَوْأَتَكَ أَوْ قَالَ لِبَاسَ الْمَسِيحِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ شَكَّ إِبْرَاهِيمُ أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ فَمَا أَبْنِي؟ قَالَ مَا يُكِنُّكَ مِنَ الشَّمْسِ وَمَا يَسْتُرُكَ مِنَ الرِّيحِ قَالَ فَكَمْ أَضْحَكُ؟ قَالَ مَا يَسْفِرُ مِنْهُ وَجْهُكَ قَالَ فَكَمْ أَبْكِي؟ قَالَ لَا تَمَلَّ أَنْ تَبْكِيَ مِنْ خَشْيَةِ اللَّهِ ﷻ فَقَالَ فَمَا أُظْهِرُ مِنْ عَمَلِي؟ قَالَ

مَا يَقْتَدِي بِهِ الْحَرِيصُ وَلَا يُصْدِقُ عَلَيْكَ قَوْلَ النَّاسِ قَالَ فَمَا أَسْتُرُ مِنْ عَمَلِي؟ قَالَ مَا يُظَنُّ أَنَّكَ لَا تَعْمَلُ حَسَنَةً
