The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed al-Hasan b. ʿAli (his grandchild) while al-Aqra b. Habis al-Tamimi was sitting beside him. al-Aqra said, "I have ten children and I have never kissed anyone of them," Messenger of Allah ﷺ cast a look at him and said, "Whoever is not merciful to others will not be shown Mercy ˹by Allah˺."  

قَبَّلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَعِنْدَهُ الأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ جَالِسًا. فَقَالَ الأَقْرَعُ: إِنَّ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا! فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمُ لاَ يُرْحَمُ.»  

I have ten children, but I have never kissed any one of them, whereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who does not show mercy (towards his children), no mercy would be shown to him.  

أَنَّ الأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ أَبْصَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُ الْحَسَنَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهُ مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمْ لاَ يُرْحَمْ  

"Al-Aqra' bin Habis saw the prophet kissing Al-Hasan"- Ibn Abi 'Umar (one of the narrators) said:"Al-Hasan and Al-Husain." So he said: 'I have ten children and I do not kiss any one of them.' So the Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever shows no mercy, he will be shown no mercy."  

أَبْصَرَ الأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُقَبِّلُ الْحَسَنَ قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْحُسَيْنَ أَوِ الْحَسَنَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ لِي مِنَ الْوَلَدِ عَشَرَةً مَا قَبَّلْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهُ مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمْ لاَ يُرْحَمْ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed Hassan bin Ali and Al-Aqra' bin Habis Al-Tamimi while sitting. Al-Aqra' then said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at him and said, "Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَبَّلَ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَالْأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ جَالِسٌ فَقَالَ الْأَقْرَعُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ إِنْسَانًا مِنْهُمْ قَطُّ قَالَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ  

[Machine] Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ saw Al-Aqra kissing his child's forehead and said to me, "I have ten children, and I have never kissed any of them." So I said, "Verily, whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy."  

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَبْصَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ الْأَقْرَعُ يُقَبِّلُ حَسَنًا فَقَالَ لِي عَشْرَةٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ قَطُّ قَالَ إِنَّهُ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ  

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to kiss al-Hasan b. Ali. al-Aqra b. Habis said, "I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever does not show mercy, will not be shown mercy."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُقَبِّلُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ فَقَالَ الْأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ إِنَّ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ  

I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who does not show tenderness will not be shown tenderness. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5218)   

أَبْصَرَ الْأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ فقَالَ إِنَّ لِي عَشْرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ فقَالَ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمْ لَا يُرْحَمْ»

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed Al-Hasan ibn Ali and Al-Aqra bin Habis Al-Tamimiy who were sitting. Al-Aqra said, "I have ten children, and I have never kissed any of them." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever does not show mercy, will not be shown mercy."  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَبَّلَ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَالْأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ جَالِسٌ فَقَالَ الْأَقْرَعُ إِنَّ لِيَ عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا قَطُّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ»  

[Machine] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ kissed Hassan and Al-Aqra’ bin Habis said to him, “I have ten children whom I have never kissed.” The Prophet of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy by Allah.”  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَبَّلَ حَسَنًا فَقَالَ لَهُ الْأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ لَقَدْ وُلِدَ لِي عَشْرٌ مَا قَبَّلْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَرْحَمُ اللهُ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ النَّاسَ»  

Abu Hurayra said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, kissed Hasan ibn 'Ali while al-Aqra' ibn Habis at-Tamimi was sitting with him. Al-Aqra' observed, 'I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them.' The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, looked at him and said, 'Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.'"  

قَبَّلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَعِنْدَهُ الأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ جَالِسٌ فَقَالَ الأَقْرَعُ إِنَّ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ لا يَرْحَمُ لا يُرْحَمُ
