[Machine] Umaynah ibn Hisan entered upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and saw him kissing Hasan or Husayn. So she said to him, "Do you kiss him, O Messenger of Allah? I have ten children and I have never kissed any one of them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy."  

أحمد:٧١٢١ – أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

دَخَلَ عُيَيْنَةُ بْنُ حِصْنٍ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَرَآهُ يُقَبِّلُ حَسَنًا أَوْ حُسَيْنًا فَقَالَ لَهُ تُقَبِّلْهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ لَقَدْ وُلِدَ لِي عَشْرَةٌ مَا قَبَّلْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to kiss al-Hasan b. Ali. al-Aqra b. Habis said, "I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever does not show mercy, will not be shown mercy."  

أحمد:١٠٦٧٣ – حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَفْصَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُقَبِّلُ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ فَقَالَ الْأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ إِنَّ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ  

ذِكْرُ الْأَمْرِ لِلْمَرْءِ أَنْ يَرْحَمَ أَطْفَالَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ رَجَاءَ رَحْمَةَ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلَا إِيَّاهُ

ibnhibban:457 – ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad al-Azdī > Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm > Sufyān > al-Zuhrī > Abū Salamah > Abū Hurayrah

I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who does not show tenderness will not be shown tenderness. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 5218)

الطبراني:٦٦٩٤ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ كَثِيرٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ثنا الزُّبَيْرُ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْخِرِّيتِ عَنِ السَّائِبِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ
