Abu Hurayra said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed Hasan ibn 'Ali while al-Aqra' ibn Habis at-Tamimi was sitting with him. Al-Aqra' observed, 'I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at him and said, 'Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.'"

قَبَّلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَعِنْدَهُ الأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ جَالِسٌ فَقَالَ الأَقْرَعُ إِنَّ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ لا يَرْحَمُ لا يُرْحَمُ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed al-Hasan b. Ali while al-Aqra‘ b. Habis al-Tamimi was sitting with him. al-Aqra‘ said, “I have ten children and I have not kissed any of them.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ looked at him and then said, “Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.”

قَبَّلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ وَعِنْدَهُ الأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ التَّمِيمِيُّ جَالِسًا. فَقَالَ الأَقْرَعُ: إِنَّ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ مِنْهُمْ أَحَدًا! فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ: «مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمُ لاَ يُرْحَمُ».

I have ten children, but I have never kissed any one of them, whereupon Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who does not show mercy (towards his children), no mercy would be shown to him.

أَنَّ الأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ أَبْصَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُقَبِّلُ الْحَسَنَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ لِي عَشَرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ وَاحِدًا مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهُ مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمْ لاَ يُرْحَمْ

I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who does not show tenderness will not be shown tenderness.

أَنَّ الأَقْرَعَ بْنَ حَابِسٍ أَبْصَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُقَبِّلُ حُسَيْنًا فَقَالَ إِنَّ لِي عَشْرَةً مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا فَعَلْتُ هَذَا بِوَاحِدٍ مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمُ لاَ يُرْحَمُ

"Al-Aqra' bin Habis saw the prophet kissing Al-Hasan"- Ibn Abi 'Umar (one of the narrators) said:"Al-Hasan and Al-Husain." So he said: 'I have ten children and I do not kiss any one of them.' So the Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever shows no mercy, he will be shown no mercy."

أَبْصَرَ الأَقْرَعُ بْنُ حَابِسٍ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُقَبِّلُ الْحَسَنَ قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ الْحُسَيْنَ أَوِ الْحَسَنَ فَقَالَ إِنَّ لِي مِنَ الْوَلَدِ عَشَرَةً مَا قَبَّلْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِنَّهُ مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمْ لاَ يُرْحَمْ

[AI] Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet ﷺ saw Al-Aqra kissing his child's forehead and said to me, "I have ten children, and I have never kissed any of them." So I said, "Verily, whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy."

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَبْصَرَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ الْأَقْرَعُ يُقَبِّلُ حَسَنًا فَقَالَ لِي عَشْرَةٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ مَا قَبَّلْتُ أَحَدًا مِنْهُمْ قَطُّ قَالَ إِنَّهُ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُ لَا يُرْحَمُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ kissed Hassan bin Ali and Al-Aqra' bin Habis Al-Tamimi while sitting. Al-Aqra' then said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to kiss al-Hasan b. Ali. al-Aqra b. Habis said, "I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever does not show mercy, will not be shown mercy."
