"They said: 'O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! When was the Prophethood established for you?' He said: 'While Adam was between (being) soul and body.'"  

الترمذي:٣٦٠٩ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هَمَّامٍ الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ شُجَاعِ بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَتَى وَجَبَتْ لَكَ النُّبُوَّةُ قَالَ وَآدَمُ بَيْنَ الرُّوحِ وَالْجَسَدِ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ مَيْسَرَةَ الْفَجْرِ

[Machine] I said to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "When were you made a prophet?" He replied, "Adam was between the soul and the body."

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ وَشَاهِدُهُ حَدِيثُ الْأَوْزَاعِيِّ الَّذِي صحيح

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ was asked, "When did Prophethood become obligatory for you?" He replied, "Between the creation of Adam and the blowing of the soul into him."

قِيلَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ مَتَى وَجَبَتْ لَكَ النُّبُوَّةُ؟ قَالَ «بَيْنَ خَلْقِ آدَمَ وَنَفْخِ الرُّوحِ فِيهِ»
