"Messenger of Allah used to mingle with us such that he said to my younger brother: 'O Abu Umair! What did the Nughair do?'" He (Anas) said: "A Bisat of ours would be sprinkled (with water) to perform Salat on."
سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُخَالِطُنَا حَتَّى إِنْ كَانَ يَقُولُ لأَخٍ لِي صَغِيرٍ يَا أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ قَالَ وَنُضِحَ بِسَاطٌ لَنَا فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
The Prophet ﷺ used to mix with us to the extent that he would say to a younger brother of mine, 'O Aba ʿUmair! What did the Nughair (a kind of bird) do?"
سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ ؓ يَقُولُ إِنْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَيُخَالِطُنَا حَتَّى يَقُولَ لأَخٍ لِي صَغِيرٍ يَا أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ
"I heard Anas Bin Malik say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to mix with us so much that he said to a little brother of mine: "O Abu ʿUmair, what happened to the Nughair (one of the narrators Wakiʿ said that it means a bird that he used to play with)."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to interact with us frequently, to the point that he would even say to his younger brother, "O Abu Umair, how is An-Nughayr?" And when the time for prayer came, we spread out a mat for him, and he prayed on it while we lined up behind him.
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُخَالِطُنَا كَثِيرًا حَتَّى إِنْ كَانَ لَيَقُولُ لِأَخٍ لِي صَغِيرٍ «يَا أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ؟ » وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَنَضَحْنَا بُسَاطًا لَنَا فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ وَصَفَفْنَا خَلْفَهُ
[Machine] I heard Anas bin Malik say that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to be in our company until he would say to a younger brother of mine, "O Abu 'Umayr, what happened to the little bird?"
سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُخَالِطُنَا حَتَّى يَقُولَ لِأَخٍ لِي صَغِيرٍ يَا أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ؟ يَعْنِي طَائِرًا لَهُ
Anas ibn Malik said, "The Prophet ﷺ used to mix with us to the extent of asking a younger brother of mine, 'Abu 'Umayr! What has happened to the little sparrow?'"
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَيُخَالِطُنَا حَتَّى يَقُولَ لأَخٍ لِي صَغِيرٍ يَا أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ؟
