[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited us from consuming the liver, but we insisted, so we got sick and did not succeed.
«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْكَيِّ فَأَبَيْنَا فَاكْتَوَيْنَا فَمَا أَفْلَحْنَا وَلَا أَنْجَحْنَا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited us from consuming the liver, but we insisted, so we got sick and did not succeed.
«نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْكَيِّ فَأَبَيْنَا فَاكْتَوَيْنَا فَمَا أَفْلَحْنَا وَلَا أَنْجَحْنَا»
The Prophet ﷺ forbade to cauterise; we cauterised but they (cauterisation) did not benefit us, nor proved useful for us. Abu Dawud said: He used to hear the salutation of the angels: When he cauterized, it stopped. When he abandoned, it returned to him.
نَهَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنِ الْكَىِّ فَاكْتَوَيْنَا فَمَا أَفْلَحْنَ وَلاَ أَنْجَحْنَ
"We were tested (with severe medical condition) so we were cauterized, but we did not have good results, nor was it successful for us." Another chain reports a similar narration.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْكَىِّ قَالَ فَابْتُلِينَا فَاكْتَوَيْنَا فَمَا أَفْلَحْنَا وَلاَ أَنْجَحْنَا
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade cauterization. I had myself cauterized and I have not prospered or succeeded.”
